And I didn't mean to make it sound like you did. It was mroe a case of 'this is how I feel about it all.'

Dh is off to Bourke next week. By the time he's inished and driven home at the end of the week he will have spent an entire day on the road.

How is everyone loving this rain? Has everyone else got rain? It's been steadily coming down here since the weekend. In fact I still have the clothes I washed on Saturday up on the line.

We've just started getting some precipitation today and it's supposed to last several days. It's good for the garden and plants. I just feel sorry for Bailey, as it means he'll be all couped up inside as he doesn't like going out in the rain.

It's clearing here today. The ground is still very soggy but I'll probably be able to hang clothes on the clothesline today. I only just got the clothes from last Saturday off the line and through the dryer yesterday.

I got an SMS from Mum and Dad this morning to make sure we weren't near the flooding.

Buddy, if you're around, how are you guys up there?

We had thunderstorms last night. There was some talk about us possibly having some snow in the Stirlings.

Hi Everyone and Kia Ora too
Thanks Kylie. Everything is OK up here. Friday 24th August was our big day. We had just finished our indoor bowls around noon when the wind and the rain hit hard and we were marooned for around 45 minutes but we resisted the temptation to test the Eagle Boys with a pizza order! We had 176 mm of rain and the wind peaked at 106 km/hr. please don't ask for an explanation - there isn't any - but at one stage I found myself outside the hall trying to get back in. I did make it OK but the amazing thing was I went from dry to wet without the damp stage. I have been riding the bike around the place and only one tree was torn out that I could see. It was a good size and down on the foreshore. Some branches also came down but that was it. No one got hurt in it which is the main thing. One fella was telling us how his car was rocking badly until he faced it into the wind.

Hope everyone else is doing fine

Buddy

Been in a couple of downpours like that. You get to the stage where you just figure you might as well enjoy the rain (if it's warm rain).

I'm a work widow this week. Dh is down in Bourke and won't be back until Friday or Saturday. I'm hoping Friday as there is a concert I'd like to see if I can get last minute tickets to for his birthday if dh is going to be around.

Dh should be home on Saturday evening and I need to pick J up from his friend's Saturday afternoon. And X has her concert tonight. And we've got church Sunday morning. And I'm thinking of attending a night service at the church where a workshop I'm planning to attend is at so that I can find my way easily on Monday evening.

And somewhere in there I'm sure I'll remember to eat, sleep and breath.

I've got some errands to do tomorrow, including getting some birthday and Christmas gifts.

I need to spend some time with Bailey who's still not well.

I've got to get some things ready for mailing too.

We've finally managed to get a little bit of rain. The garden isn't minding it at all.

Is anybody interested in the footy? I'm not, but Joan and John are busy watching the Eagles vs Collingwood game.

Gday from Canada all
Well dialup has decended onto my house so reading forums has dropped off my list. Today I am high jacking the computer where I am working (in home care) while everyone sleeps to send my greetings.
Buddy i am about to check out your multiply site esp the pics from albany and surrouding areas.
Trish good to see you are keeping this thread alive and i wil try to jump on every now and then.
In my life I am starting the adoption course in a few weeks and hope that by early next year my boy can come home permanently. Such a lambie. He has really settled down a lot over the last months. I recommend a book to all you mums with boys as this really helped me and my sister understand our boys. ITs called "bringing up boys" by dr dobson - if anyone is interested.
In other news I started working for an agency and did visiting nursing - a really delightful way to help people in thier homes but due to the politics and the crazy hours, i quit this week and am going to work fulltime at my hospital job again. Still ugly politics but at least i know they exist and i jsut have to deal with it.
Fall is coming to Canada after a really dry summer - the driest on record. The cold is starting to come, sadly and so i can look forward to the frigid temps of winter (NOT)
Good to get updates on your life all
lots of love
Joyce

Hey Joyce, good to hear from you again. I was wondering how you were going.

Not long now until you get that boy of yours home for good.

I've got the flu and didn't get much sleep last night, so I might go and try and get some now.

Take care everybody.

Hi Trish,
I'm learning to be a busy fella
1.Asst Treasurer, Pensioner Bowls (also filling in for the treasurer on holidays)
2.Asst Treasurer for H.B.Senior Citizens - a busy job indeed
3.committee member for our body Corp.
4. Meals on wheels (who are seeking to increase my weekly quota from 1 to 2 0r 3 days per week. Wish I could do this as I really enjoy it. However I am finding it hard to get everything done.
So that is my busyness

Hi everyone and kia ora

A short word about Hervey Bay.
we now have 3 Woolworths shopping centres. Furthermore, Big W is opening on 4th April,2008. Can't really see the need for it from a "pushbike point of view". There is a Big W at Maryborough - a mere 35 km away. and quite cheap bus fares. However there are a lot of young people now employed, which can only be a good thing. Just a few years ago, we had the lowest employment rate in Australia with the attendant crime rate - I was broken into one night but was fast alseep and never knew anything about it until I awoke the next morning.

From a "pushbike point of view" - traffic has sure increased on the roads. However I haven't been knock off my bike for a few years now. The total number of hits up here has been 3 so far in ten years. No damage done though and thanks be to God

Buddy

Wow Buddy, you are a busy boy! Good for you.

I must admit, I know very little about Hervey Bay.
