Yep. It was one of the first Christian fiction books I read. Loved it, partly because of the Star Trek episode it reminded me of.

It's one of those books I just happened to pick up at a bookstore, and thought it sounded interesting, even though I had never heard of the author. Now I'm so glad I bought it, because she has become one of my favorite authors.

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer. One of the best books I've read in years.

I've looked through that book several times in bookstores, but I've never bought it. Maybe I'll have to see if the library has it.

Have you read Krakauer's "Into Thin Air"?

I have, and funny enough the husband of a good friend of mine (he was a close friend of Scott Fischer's) was involved with that expedition, so I got to hear a little about it from his viewpoint.

As for Into the Wild it is just a very, very well written book and more thoughtful than Into Thin Air, which was also a good book.

I've read Into The Wild. Fascinating read.

I'm currently finishing up the Wrinkle In Time series. So fun to go back and re-read childhood favorites.

Funny, she wrote books 4 and 5 after I had grown up, so I hadn't read them till now. I'm in the middle of book 5 right now.

I liked the first 3 a lot.

Just started Michael Crichton's Eaters of the Dead. I'm not a fan, but the movie was amusing if you looked past the anachronistic armour and the silly notion that Viking swords were unwieldy.

I'm currently reading Married But Not Engaged by Paul and Sandy Coughlin. It's geared more for a woman to read, but it has lots of things pertinent to a man's POV as well.
The another book I'm reading is called Respectable Sins the author escapes me. Anyway it's a pretty interesting read too.
One more I'm currently working on is called Twenty Thousand Roads it's about Gram Parsons. He had a huge impact on popular music (country and rock) he was a member of the Byrds and several other projects as well. The events surrounding his death was very interesting.
