The latest post: Schedule Update Not to take away from Roger's newest post by posting another entry, but I just wanted to let all of you prayer warriors out there know that Roger's transplant will take place on Thursday (Nov. 16), or if the cells are later getting here that day, it will be done on Friday the 17th. Originally, I had told you it would be Saturday, so I wanted to give you the correct date. He is still hanging in there. His nurse Katie told him that "boring is good", so he is trying to comply! One more big day of chemo and then the big day. We appreciate your prayers. In His Grip, Debbie

Please remember to keep Roger in your prayers! Let's unite and make this prayer chain so strong the devil can not break it.

Folks, we NEED to Fast and pray. I plan to do so until we hear how it went. Food is not much of a sacrifice to make for a loved one.

[/quote] I think we should also pray for the donor and his family, along with Roger and his family. What a great gift the donor is giving. Roger is such a great person with so much talent and he has truly used his talents for the Lord. My thoughts and prayers for Roger and his donor.

November 16, 2006 Transplant Complete I didn't get a chance to write during the transplant again. It was over in about an hour and a half. No adverse reactions yet, I'm just wiped out and am gonna give in to a nap attack. I start radiation tomorrow and we move into a new phase in the transplant. Fighting rejection, trying to make sure we don't cause any more damage to other organs and a million other things that can come up. So thanks for your prayers and Deb and I want you to know we need every one! Sleepy but still in His Grip, Roger

November 19, 2006 A Sunday Update I have been sitting in Roger's room for about 7 1/2 hours today, and he has maybe been awake for 1/2 hour. For some reason, he just can't wake up today. He didn't sleep last night, though, so I know he needed it. I was worried that he might not sleep again tonight, but he has been so soundly asleep all day that I think he might just sleep the night away as well. Things are going as expected....which doesn't really tell much, except that all of the ups and downs are "expected". The morning after the transplant, he was running a very high fever and had a tremendous headache, so he did not go down to receive radiation. They will try that again on Tuesday. He has had to receive many infusions of blood and platelets, but that also is not unexpected. For those of you who have asked how to donate in his name, I can not really tell you anything, except to check with your local blood donation center. I know the ins and outs here at MD Anderson, but that is as far as my expertise goes! Also, for those of you who have asked about the technicalities, I will be happy to share what I can with you in a later post. It is too long for today's post, as I am having to edit myself as I go.....I am typing in rubber gloves, and I am not doing a very good job at it! Roger is again in contact isolation due to a virus they found in him, and I have to wear gloves and gown when I am in his room. Thank you again and again for your prayers. The transplant itself is rather uneventful, but the days after can be quite interesting, to say the least. It's pretty boring, but they like that kind of thing out their patients!! Until next time, we are still In His Grip, Debbie

Off-topic, but still discussing Legacy Five: Am I the only person who has heard Legacy Five do "The Vegetables Song"? (Frank does a good job with it.)

As the song affirms, God provides for our every need--a message especially timely this Thanksgiving season. The Vegetables Song (featuring Frank) Oh, there's peas, when I leave it in Your hands Sweet peas, when I leave it in Your hands Just leave 'em there and never pick 'em up again There's peas, when I leave it in Your hands

That's my favorite song on the new album, too.
