Ok, Beckey -- you can have birthdays too, when you grow up -- even now! You can have one every year, ifn ya want

Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys! This has been nice

It's been a great day overall. We had awesome church services today, and I even made it back for tonight's service. Pastor is continuing his sermons on "What Does God Think of Me?" . . . They are very simple, but are just really bringing some truths home, and I needed to hear them.

Thank you guys so much!

And how is everyone today?? I don't have Garrett, so went to the gym late, then did some grocery shopping. Now I have to put it all away . . . owell, at least my freezer will be full --- wait a minute! My freezer was already full! . . . owell, they had some good meat prices, so decided I'd better stock up.

So far, so good. I'm thinking about running to Sonic to pickup some Java Chillers for Annie, Mom and myself.

Hi there, Mike! My Monday went real good . . I got a lot done and even had time to sit in the swing & read for a bit both morning and evening.

Good morning, Ginny! Nope, didn't get to work on the jacket yesterday. I have a pair of pants that have to be out this week, so had to take a break from the jacket to work on those. The owner just came for a fitting yesterday, so now I can finish them . . will probably do that today.

I just realized that you, Leah and Oreo share the same birthday . He just turned 4. For his present he got a rawhide bone and a new leash. I also ordered 2 toys that have yet to arrive.

I did some research and discovered that Maltese puppies now run around $800 . (Little Bit was $350) If I'm still around when Oreo passes, I think I may get a new puppy. I've already started my puppy fund and have saved $80. I've also decided I'll get another little girl and name her Sno-pea. In the meantime, I plan to spoil Oreo and enjoy him as much as possible. He is trying hard to take care of me!

Friday will be one month since Little Bit died and I still feel so much grief. However, now that I have a plan, I do feel somewhat better, don't know why (shrug). My husband is talking about sending me to a grief counselor. I guess I should try to go. I don't seem to have the coping skills I once had. I wonder if that is related to my PTSD at all?

My daughter is up tonight vomiting. I am up with a new pain in my right thigh. It started about 2weeks ago and is getting worse. Anytime I move my leg, it feels like the flesh is being torn from the bone. Very painful. I see my DR next week. I may go to the ER sooner if it keeps getting worse.

TTFN

Hi there, Pengie . . . . I'm sorry you were up with pain again. I pray that will settle down before you have to make that trip to the emergency room.

I think it's good to make your plans to get a new puppy . . sounds like it's been therapeutic for you. Oreo must surely enjoy having so much love showered on him right now, and seems like he's also enjoying being your comfort. It's so hard to lose these lovable companions.

My daughter had to put down one of her dogs this past weekend. She had cancer. They only found it a couple of months ago, but it was pretty far spread already. This was a stray she'd taken in, but a very beautiful and intelligent dog . . mixed breed of Great Pyrennes. In fact, she had her certified as a therapy dog and had taken her into nursing homes and hospitals for that. Annabelle was such a lovable dog -- with eyes that seemed able to look into your very soul. I know Melissa is missing her a lot.

I wanted to go check out the blackberry patch this morning, but I got up so very tired and just haven't been able to move myself in that direction . . . I am supposed to go to my sil's in a bit, so guess I ought to be moving myself out of this chair.

Pengie, that's cool that you're making plans about a new Maltese. I think having a plan promotes hope and when we have hope, we feel better. If your husband is encouraging you to go for grief counselling, why don't you? It might help with other things too. Is your daughter any better today? I'm sorry to hear about your leg. Ouch!

My husband is an ogre!

I made the mistake of sharing my dream of getting a puppy someday with him. It was mainly his idea in the first place! He had been saying I could do that when Oreo was gone. Well, when he realized I was serious about doing it, he renigued and started yelling at me how he hates dogs and why should he have to have one in his life? (!) He continued to yell about how destuctive dogs are and how I can't have one. Then he said I could have one if he could torment it!

He conviently forgot that it was HIS cat that chewed up the wallpaper in the entryway. He just continued to rant and rave about how his whole life (all 13 yrs ) was filled with my dogs. Little Bit was the first dog I've ever had, now I have Oreo. He forgot that I endure his scarlet macaw that hates me and has even bitten me enough to leave a scar. Oh, and I get to clean up after it , too.

Honestly, I think my husband is a spoiled little boy who thows fits to get his own way. He doesn't think his bipolar disorder ever acts up. Well - This is a man who hasn't showered or bathed since last Summer
(that much I did tell his DR).

At this point, I'd rather have the puppy than the man.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{PENGIE}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} . . . . you're right, he IS being an ogre. And it sounds like he's just off one one of his rants. I know it must be so very hard, but try to ignore it & maybe it will get out of his system.

Thanks for the good wishes -- Happy 4th of July to you, too

I'm sorry you keep having to go through his tantrums about one thing or another. You seem to get a bit of a reprieve and then he starts all over again. He hasn't bathed or showered since last summer? How does he manage to go to work?

I agree with Linda. He'll get it all out of his system and probably forget he said what he's said. Doesn't make it any easier now though.

I really don't know how he manages to go to work to be honest. I don't know if he gives himself a spongebath downstairs once in a while or not. I do know that he does not come upstairs to the 2 full bathrooms to bathe. His hair is wirey in nature, but still looks gross to touch. Needless to say, we do not share intimate moments (I'd be afraid of infection). He isn't interested and neither am I. I'm not even sure if we're still friends.
We just exist as roomates. I do all the cleaning, however. He runs errands and pays the bills. He demands total gratitude for these things, too.
Personally, I think he is a pig. Have for years. But I try to treat him like a king. It's getting harder.

Hi Pendie & Trish! Pengie, what with the holiday & all, I forgot to go check out the link, so I'll try to do that right now. I hope you are doing well this week. I've not been in here to ck my thread out at all. In fact, it's been a while since Zondie has been in here -- hope her computer hasn't died again.

Garrett's sleeping, so now I need go get to sewing.
