I saw Mercy's Well tonight!

For all the guys to be under the weather they did a fantastic job! If you hadn't talked to them you wouldn't have known. It was just so great to see them again.

I get a blessing everytime. If you haven't seen or heard this group then my suggestion is that you need to!

I was so blessed with the opportunity to see The Perrys last night in Lakeside (Ft. Worth,TX). As usual they were absolutely fantastic! They started off with a bang and the crowd was really into the singing...clapping and cheering right along. It put Tracy in a great mood and he just kept rolling out fast song after fast song, as Libbi said "keeping us on our toes". Matt did a wonderful job on the keys and Tracy even let him play two songs for us! His tribute song to Anthony Burger was beautiful. Libbi was outstanding, but when is she not that way? I just love to sit and watch and hear her sing. Such a powerful voice comes out of that little sweet lady. Nick sounded great as well... he wasn't featured as much last night, but when he was he sounded great. Joseph was incredible. He's doing such an amazing job at lead and anyone that finds fault in this guy... I just don't know where it is. He puts everything he has in every song and it's awesome to watch him do it. I only wish I had the talent he has... can you imagine how well he'll sing when he really grows up?
They sang for about an 1 hr 15 mins or so with also a song during the invitation and one request to end the night on. The table was very busy, so I hung around a while to get the chance to speak with them (didn't bother me at all!) and even had the chance to hear Joe and Matt do a special performance of "Grip of Grace" around the piano. They didn't get to sing it during the concert and it was a favorite song in demand of a few nice "young" ladies and me as well!

Santa and Dee Ann... I did deliver your "hello's!" to Libbi and she sends them back to you as well!

We have just attended another Soul’d Out Quartet concert in Kentucky.
There is no way you can attend their concerts without receiving a blessing. I love all of the songs---however--- if you need soft and inspiring, they have it. If you need toe tapping, hand clapping, they have it. We had a great time just enjoying the singing and praising and of course the fellowship with the entire group.
This is a short video from the concert.

Thanks! I've listened to Southern Gospel for over 11 years (since I was 10), and got saved listening to the Cathedrals (more specifically, Mark Trammell), but I just subscribed to the Singing News and decided to join the forums. I read through them a lot, but never joined in before!

Greetings from sunny Myrtle Beach SC. Singing in the Sun is underway and it has been great. Here is a quick rundown of what has occurred so far. A quick recap of Wednesday 4/23/08 in order of appearance.

*Crist Family - I have seen this group before. The many group members does offer variety and vocal make-ups. They still don't have that signature song to really expand their fan base.

*Greater Vision - They did their normal fare as far as song selection. Gerald decided to close their set with the power ballad "Til The Storm Passes By".

*Perrys - They did a fine job. With the 25-30 minute set each group had, just about everybody did their bread and butter songs. They followed one of my least favorite songs, "His Name Was John" with one of my favorite songs "He Will Hide Me" (Their big powerhouse closer). "I Know It Was The Blood" was also a highlight.

*Message, then break.

*Dove Brothers - The Dove Brothers started the second half and the final two acts were the best of the evening. The Doves decided to showcase new songs "I've Still Got A Feeling", "You Don't Know God's Love" and "You Would Think He Would Learn" (all great choices). They closed their set with their mega hit "I Can Pray".

*Booth Brothers - By far the best set of the night. This group is in their own stratosphere. They had the crowd in the palm of their hands their entire 30 minute set. From the opening "Look For Me At Jesus Feet" to the closing "He Saw It All", the crowd loved every minute of it. The best song of the entire evening was a new song featuring Michael from the new album titled "Secret Place" (this could be a mega song!!).

Let me quickly post about Thursday 04/24/08. I need to get back to the beach. Highlights in order of appearance:

*Browns - This family continues to build their ever growing fan base. I noticed they focused more on the singing than the show stopping fiddle numbers. "It Took The Cross" (a great ballad) was the highlight of their set.

*Ivan Parker - I've seen Ivan many times in the last 6-8 months so I knew what to expect as far as song selection. The crowd never seems disappointed after Ivan had completed his set. "I Choose" was my favorite Ivan song of the evening.

*Talley Trio - They opened with one of my all time favorite songs, "The Healer". They had a great set mixing the slower and up-tempo numbers perfectly. Lauren really looked good last night (maybe I shouldn't have said that, oh well). They closed with their version of "Truth Is Marching On".

*Message, then break.

*Hoppers - The best set of the night. They brought the house down. Like the Booth Brothers the night before, the Hoppers had the crowd exactly where they wanted them. "I've Come Too Far" caused the several thousand in attendance to come unglued. Shouts of sing it again caused the Hoppers to double encore (acapella) the closing lines. I don't think the crowd wanted them to leave the stage. Amazing!!

*Brian Free & Assurance - I'll have to admit, having to follow the previous set their first couple numbers fell flat with the audience. When they slowed it down and let Jeremy sing "Save A Seat At The Table", the crowd began coming around. By the time they closed with their bread and butter songs, "For God So Loved" and "Long As I Got King Jesus" the crowd was back on their feet wanting more.

I agree with you on this, Seaton! This song can REALLY preach!!! I'm sure many people don't realize how "deep" Michael is. If you don't have his solo CD, it is definitely worth purchasing. It's at the very top of my list of favorite solo CD's - I like it even better than Ronnie Booth's and even Eric Bennett's

What a pleasant surprise tonight! I went to see the Chuck Wagon Gang and it was very, very nice. I had seen this group once on the Tony Peace Gospel Hour on a local Atlanta TV station and I knew they were good. They sang "old" songs with only a guitar for accompaniment. Y'all that know me know that I really like lots of music and accompaniment, but this was a really nice change. No glitz or glamour or flashy showmanship..... just down-to-earth people with great voices and hearts, singing wonderful old songs. They definitely have a unique style. Very, very enjoyable. Regardless of the group and/or style that you normally prefer, this is a group that you should make an extra effort to go see if they are ever in your area.

At intermission Dinana, JimC and I got to meet Penny, who sings alto. What a lovely young woman! She said that she occasionally reads the forums, and she promised she'd try to get on sometime and "talk" to us! Sure would love to have her around!

Dinana took pix and videos and I'm sure she'll write a better review and post some links for us.

Oh, something I forgot to mention that I think was sweet! When Penny found out that Dinana is a big Triumphant fan, she called Eric Bennett's personal cell phone, and when she got his voicemail, she let Dinana leave Eric a message. Wasn't that nice??? And when we were leaving, she shouted across the lobby to me....."Goodbye, GVfan!" Yep, she's a real sweetie!

being on CQ duty and having my laptop here I "saw-err-played" this lineup or in process of it actually. Now this is a dream concert.

1. leading off is Warming Up by McGruder's Come Fly cd. wow. what a warm up song. PURE Church.
2. moving in to take vocals is the Paynes singing Who But God.
3. jumping up to grab the mic next is Lauren Talley singing I've Got a Song and boy does she.
4. squeezing her off the stage is The Kingsmen sing ing that anthem I'd Rather Be An Old TIme Christian.
5. Legacy 5 keeps it fast with Temporary Tomb.
6 and 7. Gold City squeaks a two-fer out with the old songs In My Robe Of White and I Think I'll Read It Again.
8. pushing Gold City off the stage is Three Bridges so they can do Have You Heard The News.
9. who could say no to the Greene's when they offered to sing They'll Never Crucify Him Again.
10 and 11. The Crabb Family with Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir gets into the Gospel Groove with a couple gems. Greater Is He and then Somethin's Goin' On In The Graveyard.
12. Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir left the stage so Jason could get everyone just fired up with Ain't No Grave with rest of the Crabb Family.
13-16. Bishops get into the stage life with these gems. Blind Bartimaeus, I'll Live Again, and Lazarus Come Forth.
17. Greater Vision melts hearts with the song Just Wait Til He Stands Up.
18. Dixie Melody Boys end the show with Antioch Church Choir.

yep. a few of my fave songs live I have on my laptop

Well, I am fresh back from a Legacy Five/Booth Brothers Concert in Spring Arbor, MI!! Boy, was it great to see the L5 guys again and to finally get to hear and meet the Booth Bros. for the first time! They are all such a riot! The only reason I didn't tell anyone I was going in the "What Concerts are You Planning to Attend" thread is because I suspected I would have to go the hour's drive one-way alone, and I was right. Just thought it would be safer to not announce such things as that. But I am sure glad I did go! I have LOTS of pics I took there. I have to sort thru them first and then I can post them where I have the other L5 pics. I hope I may even get Frank Seamans to come and lurk a bit here, I hope! I know Howard will be looking for them, probably Fowler too! This time I introduced myself as L5FanLady just to see what kind of reaction I would get. Many of the L5 guys already recognized me anyway. That was sooooo cool! So be looking for pics!

Penny is delightful. And not only that, but they couldn't have found anybody better to take Shaye's place. She's a perfect fit, in personality AND vocal ability.
