Here's another recent study (May 2006) that shows Cold Turkey is TWICE as successful than NRT or Zyban Ok that's good to know, the docs keep giving me all kinds of junk, patches, fake cigs, etc. Please pray for me, I have been smoking 28 years. I wanna quit! I was where you are, only at 30 years addiction. I can give you all kinds of pointers for getting through physical withdrawal and the mental battles that follow, but I don't know how to tell you how to take that first step of "Closing the Door" on tobacco & nicotine. I can tell you that there will never be a "good time" to quit. As long as we live, we are either dealing with some difficulty or are about to wrestle with something. There are some unusual situations that have helped some individuals quit, like a 3 month coma or recovery from tobacco-induced cancer, but most of us just do it. I still can't point to a single event that pushed me to begin this journey, but I did give it a lot of prayerful thought and, one day I decided that then was the time because it would never get any easier. I will continue to pray for you because I know God wants you to experience freedom from this addiction - it's a grand and glorious thing to experience!
