By God's grace and strength, I am at Day 128 Nicotine Free. Day 225 tobacco free. Tomorrow will be my first birthday in about 30 years without nicotine controlling my day.

I am definately still having a hard time today. Not as hard as yesterday though. I just keep thinking about the smell. How bad it smells. And eating weird things like pickled green beans. I hope I don't gain too much weight! I think I'll be feeling better by Monday.

First week - time to 'fess up! How is everyone doing? I have struggled this week and am still struggling. Though I am smoking far less, I am not smoke free. Good news is that my employment is starting a smoking cessation class tonight and I am going to attend and keep plugging away at it. How are the rest of us doing? Let us not grow weary....

Not good. Not smoke free. I think I have damaged one of the best relationships in my life by keeping my smoking secret. I fessed up this weekend and it's not good. I threw my cigarettes away again this morning. Their not worth it.

By God's grace and strength: I am at DAY 133 Nicotine Free. (Day 230 tobacco free). To make it here took one crave, one hour, one day at a time. The craves become fewer and milder as time goes by. Those initial 48-72 hours are well worth the freedom I'm enjoying from the old 900 pound monkey that used to ride my back everywhere I went. If you are addicted to nicotine and are waiting for the best time to quit, that time is NOW. Just do it. Do it for you. Do it for your freedom and peace of mind.

I don't have the time right now to go back and checked whoever suggested Celebrate Recovery, but I THANK whoever did. I got my books and journal in the mail yesterday. I'll be looking for a class this week. I'm still smoking but far less than before. However, that is not the only addiction I am dealing with at this time. "Principle #1: Realize I'm not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable."

Diane, I'm praying that you'll toss the weeds and "close the door" on tobacco for good. If you had remained quit from Monday, you'd almost be past the physical withdrawal instead of still facing it. Yesterday is past and we have no promise of tomorrow. Now is the day for salvation from nicotine.

I highly recommend this book: The Easy Way to Stop Smoking: Join the Millions Who Have Become Nonsmokers Using the Easyway Method by Allen Carr. It really uncovers the lies of smoking. It makes you realize the deception society has fallen for when it comes to how we view smoking/tobacco/addiction/etc. Uncovering the lies & changing our perspective is really a great tool in quitting and transforming ourselves from smokers to non smokers. 2 more days and I'll be 'quit' for 8 months. Glory to God! It is wonderful! Fondly, GraceAbounds Never quit quitting, no matter how hard it may seem at first. Quitting is so worth it.

I discovered that site while trying to understand what to expect during my quit. Besides informing me, it kept me occupied during the early phase instead of focusing on myself.

The factory where I work, owned by a major manufacturing company, is now offering employees the laserpuncture procedure to help quit smoking. They are willing to pay more than 50% of the cost and have it scheduled for sometime in February. It came up in a monthly inservice today. Anyone ever hear of this procedure? I gave up smoking for a couple of days last week, but once classes and work started back up, I got back into the habit. I'm smoking less than before, but still lighting up.

By God's grace and strength: I am at DAY 134 Nicotine Free. (Day 231 tobacco free). As far as I have been able to find out and as unpleasant as it seems, the method with the highest success rate remains to be going cold turkey.
