Some of the things that might help you deal with a crave successfully while satisfying the oral fixation: Toothpicks, coffee stirrers, gargle with Listerine, beef jerky, dry roasted peanuts, sunflower seeds, Cinnamon Altoids, regular Altoids, Altoids sugar free chewing gum, Orbit sugar free gum, and Trident sugarless gum (with Xylitol which is actually GOOD for teeth), and/or small amounts of sugar free hard candy. I have also used small pieces of cotton balls and, early in my quit, chewed some black peppercorns. But be prepared in advance - Don't wait until a crave sneaks up on you to get something to distract you... one crave, one hour, one day at a time.
