Santa, do not go back in into hibernation like the annual Santa because who else can keep us inform on the happenings in the Smokey Mountains.
The real reason we want you to stay because we like you.

And we only have nine months to toughen him up.

After Thanksgiving those "Santa or Satan" threads start up over in Theology.[sm=smile-l.gif]

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (2/26/2007 7:03:31 PM)

Thanks for the kind words. I am back. And thanks for the PM's I received. Just read them a few minutes ago. But I had to respond to the new thread about T's restaurant. And yes, the elves had me hooked up to one of them Batteries while the power was off.
Hope to see some of you at Tony's sometime in the near future. Maybe after a couple of weeks I will be there on Monday nights with my Skip-Bo cards. Tony has exended the invite to add another card game. And YES!, Tony does attend church on Sunday mornings before opeing the restaurant.
Now y'all be good now.

That's the game the ladies at the Baptist women's retreat used to lure Mrs. Kerrlaw. She ran right out and bought some Skipbo cards.

If I miss her some Monday night, I'll know where to find her. Ribs, Skipbo and Tony Gore are three of her favorite things.

Glad to see you Santa.

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (2/26/2007 8:13:13 PM)

Thanks. Good to be back. Had to stand up for Mr. T. I understand the concern about businesses being open on Sundays, but it happens, especially in this area.
Only known about SkipBo for a couple of years. Good game. Goes good with Ribs.

Qtman -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (2/26/2007 8:17:39 PM)

HE IS REAL!!! Welcome back Santa. I knew you would not stay away long. Good to have you back. And I'm still waiting on my pony.

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (2/26/2007 8:21:00 PM)

Thanks. And thank you for the PM. And Kerrlaw, we are not giving up Pastor Randy. We love him at FBC, Sevierville.

Santa, just curious? Does Tony ever march around the restaurant passing out ribs to the faithful customers while singing, "Oh, What Glory"? [sm=pig.gif][sm=dance.gif]
Do they [sm=chef.gif][sm=chicken.gif] or[sm=moocow.gif] or is it strictly barbecue [sm=pig.gif]?

Mrs. Kerrlaw plays cards on women's church retreats. So far they haven't been busted.

Doesn't anybody (except me) watch Andy Griffith any more?

When they fixed Goober up with Lydia Crosswaithe, she raised an objection to every activity that was suggested. When Andy suggested bridge, she replied "I don't gamble".

I used to play cards prior to concerts at at Buddys Barbeque in Knoxville (before Buddys was a chain). That's how old I am. [sm=hippiesmile.gif]

Hey Kerr...
You no doubt remember when Ricky Skaggs played at Buddy's!

Well, I have not seen him do that as yet, but that don't mean he does not do that. Clink on link below to see T's full menu and hopefully as I stated in an earlier post that maybe soon you will get to try Santa's Brunswick Stew or Miss Nancy's White Chicken Chili. Miss Nancy gave Tony the recipes this past Sunday.

Looks like Tony will barbeque [sm=chicken.gif][sm=pig.gif][sm=moocow.gif] and anything else he can catch.[sm=cool.gif]

Mr.s K has her eye on the beef brisket.

Kerr, if I ever do get to meet you and Mrs. Kerrlaw over food, we should make it at Tony's. [sm=thumbsup.gif][:D]

Qtman -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (2/28/2007 1:25:21 PM)

Smokymtnsanta,

I usually make at least two trips to Tn a year. More specifically Pigeon Forge. I haven't been able to make it this year or last for that matter. But I am looking forward to trying Mr. Gore's BBQ.

zmanfan38 -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (2/28/2007 5:43:15 PM)

The three of us are considering going up to Tony's place for my belated birthday dinner either this Saturday or next Saturday. Just wondering if anybody would care to meet us there? It would be so much fun to get to meet whoever could make it.[:)] You could PM me or maybe post in here if Santa doesn't mind????[sm=icon_smile_santa.gif]

Christi

Billboy -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (2/28/2007 9:42:53 PM)

Actually, I don't even like[sm=chicken.gif]. If the good Lord ever blesses me enough to give me the time to go there, (We would really like to do that) I would definitely get baby back ribs from my favorite BBQ animal.[sm=pig.gif]. [:D]
I made the earlier post just because I always wanted to create a story using pictures, like the many books I have read to my grandkids.[:D][:D]

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (3/1/2007 12:25:08 AM)

zmanfan, glad tou are doing well. Post anytime you wish on this thread. I will be in Birminghmam, Alabama this weekend doing, would you believe, Easter Bunny Photos. And no it will not be me in the Bunny suit. I am there to do the paper work for the photos. My wife, Nancy takes the photos.
Hope you can get together with some folks at T's BBQ. Saturday's are not good for me unless it is lunch.

What do you get when you put Santa Claus and Easter Bunny together?
The Easter Claus.

Dinana -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (3/5/2007 11:27:59 AM)

Hey, Santa!! Looks like I'm finally gonna get some BBQ!!!! My friend, Vera, and I are coming up to Pigeon Forge next Tuesday morning (March 13th) to see Triumphant's opening for this year at the Miracle Theater and we're planning to chow down afterwards! Y'all have been making me hungry for some good BBQ by talking about the restaurant so much!!

SGMAN -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (3/5/2007 4:11:11 PM)

My family and I just ate at his resturant today Monday March 5, 2007 and I must say that the food and the service were great. Tony Gore went out of his way to be extra friendly and approachable to my family and I, even suggesting food to try and stores to shop in. The food definately went beyond my expectations and the beans.rolls, and fries were the best I have ever had personally. The BBQ and chicken were also good in quality and quanity. I would recommend this resturant to anyone who is passing by Seiverville and wants a good BBQ meal with a friendly atmosphere.

vidimide -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (3/5/2007 5:05:55 PM)

Yep, I know at least somebody wonders why I don't post here 'cause I know even tho' I'm really new to Crosswalk ya' can tell from other boards I'm "totally Tony" !! Anything I would say could be taken as "too good to be true", so I'm glad everyone has been pleased & supportive of his new venture.

I've always loved SG and too many artists to ever begin to name, but Tony has always reminded me so very, very much of my brother & one of my own sons that I just have this special place in my heart for him !! I just imagine there are many of you "grandmas" out there that can relate to what I'm sayin'....

Everybody have a wonderful evenin'....

I hate to bring bad news to you but unless Tony changes his business hours, he is closed on Tuesdays right now. That is the only day he is closed. I will check and see if he is going to change that anytime soon. But he does need at least one day off each week.

Had no problems at all. (thank goodness)[;)]

It was a great day! Hubby and I and our little girl met Santa and Mrs. C at Tony's for lunch. The food and company were wonderful! I had the baby back ribs, hubby had catfish, and Riley had the kid's chicken fingers (she's almost 2 years old, so you know she picked and played)[:D] then we split a banana pudding for dessert. It was SO good!

Riley took to Santa and Mrs. C right away telling them about Dora and some of her other friends. Santa gave her a picture (the one in his av) and she had a shy moment...couldn't believe it! She hid her face for a minute...that was her first shy moment.[:D] It was over soon and she gave him a big hug as we left.

Had a wonderful time at Tony's! Hope more of us can meet there again soon!

Edited to mention that Tony came to our table to say "hi" and shake our hands...we enjoyed meeting him.[:)]
