TCPRUITT -> TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (1/6/2007 12:02:36 AM)

Just received word thru Tony Gore's newsletter that he is opening a restaurant in Sevierville, Tn. Tony Gore's SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ and GRILL will be located on Hwy. 66. He is not coming off the road completely but will spend a lot of time at the restaurant.
All of us Tony Gore fans know how much he likes to cook so we wish Tony the best in this new endeavor.
GOOD LUCK, TONY!

I have plans to be in Pigeon Forge in March and if the restaurant is open, we will try it out.

danielmount -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (1/6/2007 8:29:37 AM)

Well, for me, that would be a little too much of a drive to for dinner.[sm=frenchsmile.gif]

Hmmm....
Sevierville......isn't that where John Rulapaugh is?
I seem to remember he was opening a motel or somethere there....

GoldCityQtGirl -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (1/6/2007 2:58:49 PM)

Yes Sir,
Our family rented a beautiful cabin from him for our October vacation to DollyWood!!

JimC -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (1/6/2007 3:03:39 PM)

That's good to know....
Talk about a perfect vacation.....
Go to the beautiful Smokey Mountains.
Get a cabin from John Rulapaugh...
Eat at Tony Gore's restaurant...
Then visit Dollywood and listen to the Kingdom Heirs....
Doesn't get much better than that, does it?

GoldCityQtGirl -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (1/6/2007 3:06:12 PM)

The best part of my vacation was when we went to DollyWood and saw Gold City and I ate ice cream with Steve Ladd! That was the best vacation EVER!!

Unless he has sold it Tony also has a cabin or two he rents up there.

We will be in Pigeon Forge in July if nothing happens and I hope to check this place out!

Do they have any website for the restrant. I would want to go when he is there. Does he sing at the restrant. I have a Cabin, but I have not been in a while (about 3 months), but the last time I was up I did not see it.

I would email Tony, I'm sure he would be more than happy to give you all the details.

TCPRUITT -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (1/8/2007 5:39:40 PM)

The restaurant only opened last weekend. I posted the hours in an earlier post. Tony does own a cabin in Sevierville but he may be staying in it since he is here so much since the restaurant opening.
Yes, John Rulapaugh has a log cabin rental business with rental cabins in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It is a growing business for John and his wife. Check them out at www.vacationvalleyusa.com. And John is singing with the Blackwoods at the Black Bear Jamboree Theater.
Hopefully I will visit Tony's restaurant this week and will let you know how it goes.

TCPRUITT -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (1/9/2007 9:12:22 PM)

I TRIED IT.......I LIKED IT. MY WIFE AND I VISITED TONY'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL TODAY. FOOD WAS VERY GOOD. VERY GENEROUS SERVINGS. I HAD THE BBQ DINNER W/2 SIDES AND MY WIFE, NANCY HAD THE BIG T BURGER. BOTH WERE VERY GOOD. A FRIEND WAS THERE ALSO. DAVID HOSKINS HAD THE 1/2 RACK BBQ RIBS AND WHAT A SERVING. AWESOME!!!!!!! HE LET US TASTE THEM AND THEY ALSO WERE VERY GOOD. AND MR T HIMSELF WAS THE COOK. YEP, TONY IS THE HEAD COOK FOR THE RESTAURANT. ONLY BEEN OPEN 2 WEEKS. BUSINESS IS GOOD. SO STOP BY WHEN YOU ARE IN THE AREA. LOCATED NEXT TO MEMORY LANE ANTIQUE STORE ON HWY. 66 GOING FROM I-40 TOWARD SEVIERVILLE. EVEN MET SOME FOLKS FROM ALABAMA THAT JUST HAPPENED TO STOP IN. COME TO FIND OUT ONE WAS A PASTOR AND HAD TONY SING IN HIS CHURCH WHEN TONY WAS ONLY ABOUT 16 YEARS OLD. HE DID NOT KNOW IT WAS TONY'S RESTAURANT UNTIL I TOLD HIM. THEY WERE REALLY SURPRISED AND THEY SAID THE FOOD WAS GREAT. ONE HAD A BBQ COVERED SALAD THAT WAS HUGE. SO THERE IS MY REPORT ON MR. T'S BBQ AND GRILL. MAYBE WILL SEE YOU THERE ONE DAY.

I go to Pigeon Forge pretty often, so I'll have to try it the next time I'm there. . . . Sounds great!!! I love barbeque!

TCPRUITT -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (1/10/2007 9:26:27 AM)

When you visit Mr. T's BBQ and Grill, be sure to tell him you heard about it on the Singing News Forum. If I am there, I will be the one that looks like SANTA. So be good and stop by and say hi to Tony.

My wife wants us to find a way to move to east TN. I am resisting her counsel right now, because there are so many VOLS fans there (that one was for Kerr!!). I better not let her see this thread, because we both really like BBQ, and it would make her want to move even more.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Just wondering if any of you East Tennessee posters have been to Tony's Smoky Mountain BBQ and Grill as yet? I have received some emails from friends on my regular email address book that have been and they enjoyed the food. Also, I forgot to mention Tony has Southern Gospel Music playing throughout the restaurant all day every day.

TCPRUITT -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (1/21/2007 5:56:34 PM)

Just thought I would post again bout T's BBQ. Several of us (10) went after church today and again the food was WONDERFUL. EVERYONE went on and on about how good it was. You need to try the St. Louis style ribs. More than most of us could eat. I saw a lot of go boxes as we left.
Tony told me a lot of folks had been in and mentioned that they heard about the restaurant from me and I appreciate that. And Tony sure appreciates all of you that have eaten there since he opened less than a month ago.
He even had his Mom working today. she was visiting from Alabama.
And by the way, John Rulapaugh's cabin rental company's office is just down the street from T's BBQ. So come to East Tennesse for a visit and rent one of John's cabins and eat at T's BBQ. And if all of John's cabins are rented give Hidden Mountain Resorts a call. That is where I work. We would be gald to see you.
