I'm hoping once baby belly is gone I will have enough fabric to tie in front. Or atleast to the side. Sitting against a knot isn't going to be fun.

I'm surprised at how easy it is to do, I say that of course with no infant to wrestle into it now

Status: online 		If you have enough "tail", you can just tie it to the side. Otherwise, you move the knot to the curve in your back. I have found I've always been able to put it in a position that it is comfortable...and much of the time I use it, I'm also standing or walking, so it hasn't been an issue for me. I think you'll figure it out once the baby is here.

mine ends up being tied on the side by my hip. And yes, once baby is here and your belly isn't in the way you will be able to tie it better without it being tied in the back. As far as infants....Jack never fought me to get in...I would put it on and hold him to my chest then pull it up around him...he loves that thing....still does!!!! He will instantly relax when he sees me pull it out. I used it up until about three months ago with him still, and he never fought me to get in it.

Status: online 		It won't really matter if you're an old pro or not. The tricky part in the beginning is to get it tied just the right tightness. But just keep trying and you'll get it.

For a bigger baby (6 months and up), other than the wrap style things, what would anyone recommend?

Status: offline 		1. It's a pain to put on and get it right without twisting the fabric all up.
2. As Levi has gotten heavier, carrying him in it is hurting my hips.
3. I must be doing something wrong, because since Levi has gotten longer, I can't get the wrap to hold his upper body in correctly. It feels like he's always going to fall out.
4. It's too stinkin' long....waaaay too much extra fabric.
5. After putting him in it once, it gets all stretched out and I'd have to rewrap to put him in again.

Are those enough reasons?

LOL...boy isn't that the truth!!!

Amber how about MeiTai....or THIS ONE....I want to make one of these sooooooooo bad!!! (can't wait til my mom brings her sewing machine in a few weeks and takes mine back to her repair guy to get fixed!!!). One thing I do hate sometimes about the Moby is all the extra fabric (esp once baby is out of the Kangaroo carry)

I think that now that I've watched all the instructional videos on their site.. the Ergo baby carrier may be on my list of wanted carriers. geez.

Status: offline 		I was thinking something like that yesterday.. we were out and about and saw a dad with a little one in the bjorn and her/his head was at SUCH a weird angle it took me a while to realize he/she was out cold and just dangling there.. It was creepy. I need more support than that for my kiddo.

If you like the wrap but the Moby isn't working then I would recommend switching to a woven wrap that will be more supportive. A moby is really only "good" to about 15lbs(or so say the experts).

Or, you can try a SSC(soft structured carrier). If you are interested in one of these then let me know, I have been successful at making them and am thinking of making a small business out of it... I would make one at a reduced cost for you if you will review it for me

Don't do it! They have some very, very cruddy business practices going on right now! I would suggest supporting one of the WAHM companies. (any of them, lol!)

Phooey to that! Levi was 15 pounds by 3 months old and we used it way longer than that, with no problem. I did have to branch out and learn different carries as he grew, but I could probably still use it on my back if I weren't pregnant and it wasn't 800 degrees. He's almost 30 pounds now.

I agree.....I use it with Emma even (who is right at 30lb now) and it still works great, but you have to do different holds. I have thought of getting another and cutting it down just for when they are older though cause I don't need as much fabric as I do with the main kangaroo type of hold with a little one...and the extra fabric can be annoying sometimes....but I still like it best. The only reason I can't use it now is not because of the carrier itself, or the weight of the kids, it's because of my HUGE belly getting in the way.

Ryanne...Paul wants to see that camo carrier you made...can you put a link to that pic?
