Welcome, Everstudy.

Would you like to tell us something about yourself?

Come to think of it, I really only know those of you from Crosswalk where I've been hanging out off and on for the past six years or so.

For the rest of you, you can guess my name. I've spent a good deal of time overseas as a missionary, married with three kids -- two bio, one adopted from Romania.

I attend a PCA church wcpca.org

So HI everyone!

Jipsah,

Are you from Nashville?

EddieL -> RE: calvin me wonderful (5/1/2005 10:44:21 PM)

Wow, Gang....

Is it just me, or has the amount of unorthodox material on the forum increased significantly since the merge? It's been discouraging lately to see all the relativistic, athiestic, worldly stuff being posted here. It gives me the creeps.

Have I just failed to notice before or what?

TheoJunkie -> RE: calvin me wonderful (5/1/2005 10:45:46 PM)

No... it hasn't been there before. (at least not in Theology... didn't spend much time in "faith walk").

You mean he got one of my Beta version Invisible Friends?

I'm hoping to rack up the big bucks before this fad goes the way of the hula hoop.

I agree wholheartedly. It's discouraging.

SantaHoss -> RE: calvin me wonderful (5/2/2005 4:47:47 PM)

I can see getting bummed out over someone's doctrinal beliefs, but to get bummed out because Christians simply wanna talk and make jokes? No wonder I get depressed.
Jesus enjoyed a good laff! I truly believe that. God has a sense of humor!
Look in the mirror sometime!

OK back to conversing with Euty's invisible friend.

Hi Doug, haven't seen you in a while.

From Hawaii here. Semi retired. Divorced. One grown child.

go to a Southern Baptist church, in which I serve as elder and Bible teacher.

(had to remove that spiral thing.... was making my eyes cross)[sm=comp1.gif]

JaredMeister -> RE: Reformed Theology Chat Thread (5/2/2005 6:53:11 PM)

Eddie, I agree too. It's been noticeable on the few threads I've been participating in.

Let's not complain about it too much but try to look at it as an opportunity to show Christ-likeness and perhaps even present the gospel.

Harvie -> RE: Reformed Theology Chat Thread (5/3/2005 1:54:21 AM)

Just stopping by. Hello all...

If I must...

From So. Cal., work in civil engineering, go to a CRC where I'm an elder and pretty involved with other ministries, married, one son (one and done is what I say[;)])

Well, enough for now...

JaredMeister -> RE: Reformed Theology Chat Thread (5/3/2005 11:33:03 AM)

Friends,

By God's grace my 3-month vacation is over.

I got a job!!! Woo hoo!

Wait...why am I happy about that? Oh yeah, paying bills...that's a good thing.

EddieL -> RE: Reformed Theology Chat Thread (5/3/2005 12:02:46 PM)

Congrats, Jared.

BTW, anybody interested in working with me? We always have openings for Christian couples. [:D]

TheoJunkie -> RE: Reformed Theology Chat Thread (5/3/2005 5:02:37 PM)

Eddie,

Teach4Him is looking for a job-- see "Ministry Leaders"/"Looking for a youth ministry job".

About an hour east, in Cookeville.

Doveflight -> RE: calvin me wonderful (5/4/2005 9:06:14 PM)

Mind if I join in? This sounds like a safe place to make some friends.

After some reading and a little historical research I am wading into the waters of reformed theology with a sense of discovery and respect. I struggle with some of the doctrinal theology and don't understand all of the banter quite, but if you are tender with my heart, I'm willing to learn more and give what I can.

Sounds like a good deal. We could probably all say the same. Anyone claiming to have all the answers ?

hmmm from the echo, I think not. [8D]

EddieL -> RE: calvin me wonderful (5/4/2005 9:23:32 PM)

Welcome, Doveflight! [8D]

Be sure to pick up some body armor on your way to the predestination threads. It's gotten a lot more heated over the last couple of weeks. Insults fly faster than scripture references these days. [sm=yummy.gif]
