Thanks.
Whew! Almost missed the small print. That is good. Praise Away!

Sometime you have to adjust the bifocals and use three magnifiers stacked up to read that small print. They just don't take old eyes into consideration.

Ooops, sorry 'bout that.

But just to let y'all know . . . I've suddenly discovered that my arms aren't nearly as long as they used to be and certainly aren't anywhere as long as they need to be.

Reasons God Permits Problems

The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you--depending on how YOU respond to them. Unfortunately, most people fail to see how God wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring. Here are five reasons God May have Permitted the problems for experience in your life:

1. God permits problems to DIRECT you. Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God allowing this situation to get your attention?
"Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways. " Proverbs 20:30

Santa,

I had to tell you this. It is amazing what a 6 year old can do that sometimes takes adult an hour and a half to figure out. My granddaughter was looking at my cell phone last night and discovered the phone list. All of a sudden she let out a squeal and told everyone "Papa has Santa's number on his phone". She is now duly impressed and trying to be very good. I think she may be a little scared.

Reasons God Permits Problems

2. God permits problems to INSPECT you. People are like tea bags ... if you want to know what's inside them, just drop them into hot water! Has God tested your faith by allowing a problem or two into your life? What do problems reveal about you?
"When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy,
because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience." James 1:2-3

Reasons God Permits Problems:

3. God uses problems to CORRECT you. Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned.
Sometimes we only learn the value of something...health, money, a relationship...by losing it. "It was the best thing that could have happened to me, for it taught me to pay attention to your laws." Psalms 119:71-72

Reason God Permits Problems:

4. God permits problems to PROTECT you. A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious.
Last year a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem-but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later when management's actions were eventually discovered. "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good"... Genesis 50:20

Reasons God Permits Problems:

5. God permits problems to PERFECT you. Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders. God is far more interested in your character than your comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things you're going to take with you into eternity. "We can rejoice when we run into problems...they help us learn to be patient.
And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady." Romans 5:3-4

** Here's the point: God is at work in your life-even when you do not recognize it or understand it. But it's much easier and profitable when you cooperate with Him.

Dear Santa,
I hope you don't mind if I share this here. I got it in my e-mail from a friend today and I thought it was precious....

JESUS & THE MUD PUDDLE (You gotta believe a 6 year old)

Howard County Sheriff Jerry Marr got a disturbing
call one Saturday afternoon a few months ago. His 6-year-old
grandson Mikey had been hit by a car while fishing
in Greentown with his dad.
The father and son were near a bridge by the Kokomo
Reservoir when a woman lost control of her car, slid off the bridge
and hit Mikey at a rate of about 50 mph. Sheriff Marr had seen
the
results of accidents like this and feared the worst.

When he got to Saint Joseph Hospital, he rushed through the
emergency room to find Mikey conscious and in fairly good spirits.
"Mikey, what happened?" Sheriff Marr asked. Mikey replied, "Well,
Papaw, I was fishin' with Dad, and some lady runned me over, I flew
into a mud puddle, and broke my fishin' pole and I didn't get to
catch
no
fish!"

As it turned out, the impact propelled Mikey about 500 feet, over
a few trees and an embankment and in the middle of a mud puddle.

His only injuries were to his right femur bone which had broken in
two places. Mikey had surgery to place pins in his leg. Otherwise
the
boy is
fine.

Since all the boy could talk about was that his fishing pole was
broken, the Sheriff went out to
Wal-Mart and bought him a new one while he was in surgery so he
could
have it when he
came out.

The next day the Sheriff sat with Mikey to keep him company in the
hospital. Mikey was enjoying his new fishing pole and talked about
when he
could go fishing again as he cast into the trash can.

When they were alone, Mikey, just as matter-of-factly, said,
"Papaw, did you know Jesus is real?
Well," the Sheriff replied, a little startled "Yes, Jesus is real
to all who believe in him and love him in their hearts."
"No," said Mikey. "I mean Jesus is REALLY real."
"What do you mean?" asked the Sheriff.
"I know he's real 'cause I saw him." said Mikey, still casting
into the trash can.
"You did?" said the Sheriff.
"Yep," said Mikey. "When that lady runned me over and broke my
fishing pole, Jesus caught me in his arms and laid me down in the
mud
puddle."

All Time Dumbest Questions Asked By Banff Park Tourists Part 1

Yes, they're ALL TRUE as heard at the information kiosks
manned by Parks Canada staff!

1. How do the elk know they're supposed to cross at the "Elk
Crossing" signs?

2. At what elevation does an elk become a moose?

3. Tourist: "How do you pronounce 'Elk'?"
Park Information Staff: "'Elk.'"
Tourist: "Oh."

4. Are the bears with collars tame?

5. Is there anywhere I can see the bears pose?

ROFLOL!

Santa, I have actually had tourists ask me, on a cloudy day (while pointing in the direction of the Tetons), what happened to the Tetons.

I'll tell them, "Oh, we had to take them to the cleaners; they were getting a bit dirty."

THEN, they will reply (in very serious tones and and with very astonished looks), "Oh. When do you think they'll be back from the cleaners; we're only here for a few days."

And this has happened on more than one occasion.

Tourists will also ask how they know the Elk Refuge is for them and is it illegal for the buffalo to be there as well.

Tourists! They can ask some crazy questions. Had someone to comment about our roads were curvy and narrow and up and down hills and I said "You are in the mountains, you know".

Can't get my avatar to change today for some reason. Shows that red X again.
