Well, I haven't seen those stories, and so I associate that name with one of the friendliest old grandmas I ever knew, who was a song leader at a church I attended when I was really little. I'm not sure she officially went by "Grandma Sunshine," but that fits her personality.

No that's the bass singer from Georgia, Lane Rainwater, that challenged Tim Riley to a singing contest and also callenged Lauren Talley and Sonya Isaac to a beauty contest.

I almost had a Drip sighting at Family Fest. There was a car with a Georgia personalized plate that said "DRIP".
I spent most of a day looking for a man who was prettier than Sonya Isaacs, but it turned out that the car belonged to someone else.

To add insult to injurty, it was wrapped around the May 2008 issue.
You can't make this stuff up.
