I like Hoofers.....NO intermission.....NO sales pitches from stage......
Mr. Torrance says he pays the artist their fee and they should sing and not sale products. They are provided a large area in the lobby for their tables. He also provides a schedule for everyone attending and he holds the groups to their time limits. That way people know who is singing when and what time the program will end. The lobby also has a concession area with tables and speakers so you can hear the groups.

Billboy -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/4/2008 5:43:23 PM)

We normally stay until it is over. There have been a couple of times when we were 2 hours from home, or the weather had turned nasty, we left at intermission. One time neither one of us were feeling particularly good and we had said in advance that we would leave at intermission, but when the time came we were enjoying it too much to leave.[:D]

BBfan -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/4/2008 5:49:47 PM)

Nope I don't leave unless I have a child who isn't feeling well...hubby a couple of times has taken the kids to the car and waited on me if the kids were getting too restless and such. I'm the SGM lover...he likes it a little bit....[:D]

MissGizmo -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/4/2008 6:24:08 PM)

Can't think of a time I left at intermission. I usually am one of the last ones out the door. So much traffic in the parking lot that I may as well stay inside and wait. Never know who you might find to talk to that way.

L5FanLady -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/4/2008 8:43:51 PM)

I haven't changed. Recently, I was an hour away and still I stayed to the end, thanked and shook hands of each one of the guys, then went home. I love SG artists![:)]

heather84 -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/4/2008 9:17:46 PM)

Always stay till its over! I pay for the show I'm gonna get my money worth.

rogasinger4Him -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/4/2008 9:43:02 PM)

Only time I ever left early was when my wife and I went to a concert just 3 days after she got out of hospital after surgery. Probably shouldn't have gone in the first place but she really wanted to go.

I'll usually stay to the end even at a benefit with several local/part time groups.

pittsgirl -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/5/2008 2:41:31 AM)

I usually am one of the first to arrive and the last to leave. Just can't tear myself away. Gotta say "howdy" to all the artists and take pics with each one of the group. Plus I am always with jabird41. That explains it all!

Sometimes they have to force me out the door.... [;)] haha. j/k.

gospelady -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/5/2008 10:17:29 AM)

I stay until the last dog is hung! LOL I don't want to miss a minute of the concert! I NEVER leave until it's over!

youngartist -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/5/2008 10:23:41 AM)

I can't remember a single time I left at intermission - even 3 or more hours away from home.

SamPaasch -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/7/2008 6:39:21 PM)

I like to stay throughout the whole concert. But sometimes the rest of my family doesn't, normally if we do leave early, we usually hear a couple of songs after the intermission then leave.
But, generally, most of the time we stay the whole time.

servants -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/7/2008 7:03:00 PM)

No way I'm staying to the end.

pauljackson -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/8/2008 3:06:14 AM)

you guys are the SG fans I want to sing for.
Wow!
What an audience you would be if we could get all of you in one place. Amen.

DeeAnnBailey -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/8/2008 4:53:58 PM)

Ok, I want my $$ worth, I paid for the whole show, I'm staying! [:D] Seriously, we are often the first to arrive and the last to leave.

L5FanLady -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/8/2008 5:52:37 PM)

I stay because 1) I don't go tooooo far away from home so traveling back is generally easy, and 2) it's my only chance to mingle with the SG groups. I really have loved every major and most minor SG groups I have met, and I look forward to meeting many more! And most likely, it will be before, during and after a concert![:)]

Kerrlaw -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/9/2008 1:54:08 PM)

If the intermission is a short break (approximately 15-20 minutes) to be followed by another hour of singing, of course I want to stay. This is the way the Gaither concerts are ran.

But I have been burned too many times by a "second half" that consisted of one or two songs after a 30 minute intermission.

Yeah, that really irritates me!!! If I'm gonna stay through an intermission, they need to make it worth my while!! [:D]

youngartist -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/9/2008 2:17:56 PM)

AGREED! Why in the world are the intermissions so long if they're just gonna sing a few songs at the end? ...maybe that's a way for artists to get more product sales for "tight" venues?

Bathroom breaks do take time. [:)]

Yeah, esp. when you're a woman. Seems the lines go all the way back to the stage![8|]

youngartist -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/9/2008 4:23:53 PM)

[:D] I thought it was quite humorous the other day when I went downstairs to use the restroom. The women's bathroom line stretched way out, but you could walk right into the men's bathroom.

L5FanLady -> RE: Do You Stay After The Intermission??? (5/9/2008 4:50:39 PM)

I have threatened to invade at times when the line is reeeeeeeal long and I gots to go reeeeeeeeeeal bad.....[:@][8D][;)]
