Yes, they have some talent, not to mention Samoa Joe, Gail Kim, LAX, Rhino, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Abyss, and a 270 lb, 6'1" female wrestler [sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif][sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif]

quote:

TNA has Sting, Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett (although he's not currently wrestling right now), Raven, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, The Dudley's (a.k.a. Team 3-D), and The Steiner Brothers, just to name a few.

Not a bad line-up, eh?

Does she have a sister @ home???????????????

If she does, I certainly hope she's not another psycho like this one! And if it wasn't bad enough that she's big and crazy, she's got a face that only her mother could love . . . from a great distance! Dang!

And you know I don't watch religiously but what happened to my Brooklynites Cryme Time?I thought audiences loved them ?
They were released from their contracts from my understanding. The wwe's website didn't explain why.

Cryme Tyme got released because they got into a backstage fight with Cade and Murdoch that carried out to the ring. Apprently, punches were thrown and not pulled, and they went against script, pulled their finishing move and got a quick pin, then gave the ref their finisher. All this was not planned (it was a house show) they were very disrespectful, therefore Vince released them. That's the story from 24wrestling.com.

Not sure how I feel about Hardy and HHH. HHH has stated recently he wants to turn heel again, turning on Shawn Michaels and having a match at Wrestlemania. Apparently, the original plan was for Cena v. HHH, but with Cena out until at least the end of April, they are planning on Michaels instead.

Lashley is supposed to be back by the end of the month from his bicep surgery. Candice Michelle I saw is scheduled to return the last RAW of December.

As for TNA, eh. One article I read regarding Booker T going there stated that TNA has become a safe haven for those who refuse to comply with the WWE's Wellness Policy. If you look at who they got there, it really is the wrestler's that no longer are good enough in my opinion for WWE. Say what you want about WWE, but they put on a good show. The ratings show a average 3.5 rating for RAW, while sometimes TNA barely makes a 1.5. The only wrestler over at TNA I'd like to see back on WWE is Christian. He was always a good heel.

I agree. I watch some wrestling because my husband enjoys it. I'm starting to actually like WWE to a point. Especially since I can usually figure out how the story lines will progress.

I can barely tolerate TNA. TNA's talent just isn't as good. The choreography is often quite obvious. Some wrestlers literally stand and wait for their opponent's next move. You can see them help with the lifts. I also do not like the majority of the story lines as much of it borders on domestic violence. Most of the characters are spiritually darker and some of the costumes are down right sado-masochisitic.

I'm much more likely to find something else to do when TNA is on.

Have you noticed that the WWE wrestlers all seem to be losing weight and looking a lot leaner? I suspect that the Wellness Policy is stopping a lot of steroid and growth hormone use.

Fwanger -> RE: Professional Wrestling Thread (11/30/2007 11:43:21 AM)

I just got the Shawn Michaels DVD and it is one of the best produced ones I think I've ever seen. One thing I noticed is that through the whole disc one which is Shawn's life story he didn't choke up once until he began talking about finding Jesus Christ. It was a powerful moment.

He said in the DVD a lot of people have given him flack about being a born again Christian in a very sinful industry. I think Shawn's light shines brighter because of his faith in God. It's wonderful to think that there is a role model for children in the wrestling industry that takes his walk with the Lord very seriously and shows it in his performances. He doesn't hide his faith, although other wrestler's, big name wrestlers, have told him to keep it to himself.

They even spoke about the whole Vince vs. God debacle from 2005. Vince said that he thinks God has a sense of humor and that's why they did that storyline. Will they ever do a similar storyline again? No, he said.

Also, there was a very good piece on the Montreal Screwjob. Vince took full responsibility for it, and every wrestler interviewed stated that Bret needs to let go of his bitterness and learn to forgive. Shawn wants to apologize and make an amends with Bret, yet Bret is the one unwilling to take that step.

All in all, it is an amazing DVD.

It's making an impact for sure. I still find it intersting that D.H. Smith just debuts and two weeks later was suspended for steroid use. He's supposed to be making his return 12/2 at a house show.

But as Cena said also in his CNN interview, he could pass 20 drug tests and there will still be naysayers stating that he has someone covering for him. He's not worried about the fans though, because the fans know who he is and what he stands for.

And speaking of those who can't comply go to TNA, Chris Masters is now in talks with TNA. *shakes head*

New news also, Sid Vicious is in talks with Vince to make a return to the WWE. Any thoughts?

armydude -> RE: Professional Wrestling Thread (11/30/2007 1:03:11 PM)

Sid Vicious coming back? After that accident he had in the ring with Scott Steiner, that is nothing short of a miracle!

ETA: Chris Masters in talks w/ TNA... Not surprising.

I guess he wants to keep his steroid-laden muscle look.

Good Smackdown tonight. Few Thoughts on it though:

-Absolutely hate that Edge is back. Shocked to see that him and Vicky Guerrio are hooking up now

-Glad to see Teddy Long back.

armydude -> RE: Professional Wrestling Thread (12/1/2007 11:10:59 AM)

I don't hate that Edge is back. He makes a great heel.
And I'm glad to see Teddy Long back also.

Triple Threat at Armageddon? Edge, Batista and the Undertaker for the title... hmmmm... I pick... Edge.

Armageddon should be a great match up between the Undertaker, Edge and Batista. Should be a good match

That's what I love about him. He knows how to play the heel. This man so has the fans riled up that when he had to relinquish the belt and leave for surgery, they still booed him out of the arena. Obviously, it's an act, the way that they act so evil, but he is so good at it, that even for something real, something career threatening, they still booed him out.

I'd have to say that he is probably the best heel they have had in a long long time.

And I pick him to win the title also at Armageddon.

armydude -> RE: Professional Wrestling Thread (12/2/2007 2:03:32 PM)

I don't know. I think Triple H is the best heel they've had. Probably since the Paul Orndorff days.

Fwanger -> RE: Professional Wrestling Thread (12/3/2007 9:38:26 AM)

True. I forgot about HHH for some reason. Although they are both good in their own right.

HHH is actually talking about turning heel for Wrestlemania 24. He said he wanted to work with Cena, but with Cena missing out on WM24 due to injury, talk is about turning on Shawn Michaels instead.

Yankee Nut -> RE: Professional Wrestling Thread (12/4/2007 12:34:22 AM)

Looks like the old Tripple H is back in how he came to the ring after the Jeff Hardy-Snitsky match.

Good raw tonight though. Can't wait to see the 15th Anniversery episode next week

Considering the personal problems he's having right now, he may not. I wouldn't blame him a bit.

I hate what this does to Eddie's memory. His Christian witness may be tarnished by her storyline. I am not saying it will but it just might be.

I hate that as well

glama_girly -> RE: Professional Wrestling Thread (12/15/2007 7:54:36 PM)

I used to watch the wrestling years ago, before it all went to cable. I remember the old WWF days, when Hulk Hogan was the WWF World Champion. Yes, I remember Brett "The Hitman" Hart, Brutus Beefcake (cutting his opponents hair) and Randy "The Macho Man" Savage, who incidentally became WWF World Champion at one stage also.

Does anyone rember Andre the Giant? He was amazing, though he wasn't too keen on snakes. I remember seeing him have a nasty encounter with Damien (Jake the Snake's python). It was certainly all great entertainment.

Yankee Nut -> RE: Professional Wrestling Thread (12/16/2007 12:52:33 AM)

The Raw 15 Anniversery was good.

My thought about Smackdown:

- Edge definietly had a easy night in his match against Funaki. (Don't get me wrong no match is a easy match in the wwe). But Batista has to face Kane and The Undertaker had to face both Big Daddy V and Mark Henry.

McFatty -> RE: Professional Wrestling Thread (12/16/2007 1:23:56 AM)

Funaki is an amazing pro wrestler. I'm sure working with him would make any match a bit easier. I tell you, Sabu is a tough man to work with, though!!!

chemdude77 -> RE: Professional Wrestling Thread (12/16/2007 2:03:40 PM)

HHH is a great heel; I am sure that he will get pretty vicious with Hardy tonight, seeing that the winner gets a title shot.

I am interested to see if the writers script Orton to retain the title against Jericho; that would set up an Orton-HHH battle. Considering how Batista, HHH and Flair ambushed Orton several years ago, the animosity iws still pretty intense.
