Sam, the Bible says tribulation worketh patience so rather than patience, I'm going to pray for grace and understanding.

I'm praying for the other needs lists as well.

Please pray for a friend of mine's mom, I met Trina at one of the GV Praisefests when it was on the side of the mountain. She and some friends sat near us and we have stayed in touch off and on since then. Trina's mom has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. They are all understandably upset and need God's peace and comfort right now.

Just a quick prayer request. We are getting ready to leave to go look at a house. My wife and I have been renting for years and have been praying the Lord would show us a house of our own. Not sure if this is it. But prayer would be His wisdom and insight for the house.

I woke up this morning with a stiffness in my back. It is now full blown PAIN and it hurts to move in just about any way. Please pray for me since I still have to go to work today, and my job is a very physically demanding one.

I sympathize, as I have the same problem sometimes. I have had good luck with a chiropractor, feeling better in one day after an adjustment than in a week of pills and rest. Will pray for you.

Painfully. Please continue to pray for me. There are a few other concerns as well. My wife should have been back Monday. She's trying to purchase a vehicle to drive back. Things keep coming up that push that back. I can live without the vehicle she's wanting to purchase. But I do want my wife to come back. It is LONELY here without her and the boys.

Please pray for Marisa, great neice of Jerry Martin of the Dove Brothers Quartet. Marisa has leukemia. The family has a tremendous amount of medical bills. Dove Brothers Quartet will have a benefit concert for her July 16, 7:30 pm at Galeed Baptist Church, Bladenboro, NC. If you live in the area they would appreciate your support. They appreciate your prayers no matter where you live.

It is amazing what you find when you are cleaning house. Today i found Tim Lovelace's autograph along with all the Florida boys from the 80's, and a home made cassette live concert of the Talleys. Though they were lost.

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to post this, so any guidance would be appreciated. I live in a county in West Virginia where a very important thing will happen on August 11. A county-wide vote will be taken to see if casino-type table games will be allowed at a greyhound race track in my hometown. I don't want to get into the debate over the morality of gambling (but I would be happy to show anyone that asks the reasons I am against it). Rather I would just ask every born-again believer on this board, if you truly believe that the family unit is a precious gift from God, to pray that this measure is defeated. Our little town does not have what it takes to be the next Las Vegas, as the track owners are hoping to make it.

Last night, I attended a "Vote No" rally in a neighboring town. It was a church service with great gospel singing and a strong message from the host church's pastor. When they gave the total number in attendance (450, which is great for our area), I thought of the screen name of one of our fellow posters: God's Got An Army. When I looked back over that crowd, I thought, indeed, He does have an army and we are going to war over this issue. Folks this is a serious issue in our area.

On a personal note, I am an elected official in our town, the only one on the sitting city council that opposes this measure. Some of my colleageus will say, "I am a Christian too, but this will bring jobs." My response is always, "Jobs at what cost?"

I sincerely ask that you pray for us on this issue and again, if I posted this in the wrong place, please forgive me and if someone could direct me to the correct place I would appreciate it.

God bless you all!

rt.harrison you have my familys prayers. I fully understand teh impact of gambling have see it rip my parents life apart and yet they still do it. On a personal note THANK YOU for being an elected official who is not scared to bend to the will of "it's for jobs, money for town blah blah blah." There are other ways to bring jobs to town that will not break apart marriages and increase crime in areas. THANK YOU.

Thank you so much, ponders_life, for those kind words. I have went against the grain more than once and it has caused my wife and I some grief, but I will never stray from the teaching of my Lord and the Christian home that I was raised in.

Uhm, y'all . . . I am going to take a break from the threads for a while. I don't know for how short or for how long.

I have some very important decisions to make in a few areas of my life, and I need to be able to totally focus on those right now.

I'd appreciate y'all's prayers.
Many abundant blessings to y'all.

Thanks,
Sharon-Marie

Dale Maxwell of New Ground from Scottsboro Al is back in the hospital. See SN main page for more detail but his blood pressure was real high and he was having chest pains. If you remember he was in the hospital a while back and had a stint put in one of his arteries to clear up a 98% blockage. He needs our prayers. His wife Robbie post here occasionaly. Maybe she will update us on his health when time permits.

Thanks to all for praying for my uncle. He was able to attend the family reunion and see his brothers & siblings who are still alive. I guess he has kind of stabilized, so he will maybe be with us a little longer. My dad thinks he is actually anxious to go on Home, though!

Received this from Kirk Talley's newsletter. I remember Roxy from the early years of World Premier as always there to lend a hand at whatever needed to be done on stage or off stage. My sympathys extended to her family. Click on the link for funeral details:

Please pray for the family of Roxanne Thorne. Roxanne passed away this week very unexpectedly. She was like a little sister to me. Having lived with Roger and Debra Talley for a while, and even worked for me some, Roxanne was hilarious to be around. There was never a dull moment. Please pray for her family as they prepare for her memorial services in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. I know that some of you will recognize her from concerts so here is a link to the funeral home, and to the obituary www.yorkfh.com Roxanne Thorne

hi all, relatively new to this, have not formally introduced myself, my name is curtis and i am a minister of music in knoxville tn. i do have a pressing prayer req, i am a cancer patient that has been in remission for nearly 3 years now. i have started having some other problems that may be related to some experimental treatment i had. just a brief backgroud.

the dr's thought i had chrohns disease but after unsuccessful treatments, during a surgery to remove part of my colon, the dr found 21 tumors in my liver, they did not orignate there but was carried there by the blood stream. so i not have liver cancer, just had cancer in my liver. i thought it was the same thing but the dr says there is a difference. after 5 major surgeries and experimental treatment within a 4 yr period, i was clean.!! god answers prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!

now, up to date, i have liver damage from the treatment and have been diagnosed with itp. this is basically where your spleen attacks you platelets as they are being made. normal platelet counts are 150,000 - 400,000. in the last few weeks mine has dropped as low as 9000. the dr's are trying different treatments as they do not want to remove the spleen yet as it would be a major ordeal with al the other surgeries i have had.

i know god has everything undercontrol, but still gets scarry. i would like to ask that you not only pray for me and my healing but for my wife and 3 kids (ages 7,5, and 1) i feel worst that my being sick again is such a pressing issue on their lives and i know they are my family but i tired of just making their lives harder because i am sick.

the kids don't understand why daddy can't play rough and get down in the floor with them. most of the time i do anyway then i get called on the carpet (no pun intended) by my wife. you see with this i bruise very easily and platelets are the clotting factor in your blood, so i have to be careful not to get cut also.

i am sorry so lengthy, please remember me and my family
