We took a trip backward Friday night and watched the "Kentucky, Live" video. I think it was made in 1999. "Fire On the Stage" is on the same dvd, but we did not take time to watch it, yet. I am not sure when we got that dvd or why we had not watched it before. I think we got it as a concert special either a year ago, at the GV reunion concert at Dix, IL, or last Feb at the GV concert in Marion, IL. It is always interesting to see how much a group or their people have changed. (Not personnel, just changes in the same people.)

Billboy, I've got that DVD, too, and have watched it many times. Really enjoyed both Kentucky Live and Fire on Stage. I think it's on one of those that Gerald first told the Rodney/train trip/banana joke! The guys looked really young, didn't they?

Yes, me too!! I just read this verse recently: (isn't it wonderful?? )

quote:

Isa 35:10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

I just got Everyday People. I've listened to it once, and may I please submit as my humble opinion that, at least for once, I agree with Kerr.

I already had bought songs #1 & #10 on iTunes, not being able to handle delayed gratification at all, as I have said, when it comes to SG music. This album has the super-quality of their more recent albums, along with the - should I say freshness? - of their older ones.

I'm so glad you finally got it and that you really like it, too! My favorite song on that CD is "God Will Pass By." In fact, I'll be seeing GV tomorrow night and I e-mailed Gerald Wolfe and asked if they could work that song into their program. And this is sooooo funny. Gerald wrote back (in TRUE "geezer" fashion)...

Be sure to remind one of us before the concert. I'll sleep between now and then and just might forget... again! LOL

I just love his sense of humor!!!

Thanks SoloSGArtist. I'm looking forward to seeing it. One thing I really like about SG music is that it can, among other things, minister to a hurting heart. I've spent most of today at the hospital with a friend who appears to be on her deathbed. I'm counting on the music to encourage me tonight! I know it will! Especially "God Will Pass By."

In the Greater Vision e-newsletter this week, Gerald talked a little about the Greater Vision Kid's project. It sounds great. Evidently Rodney has written songs that take the listener on a "journey through the Bible." Gerald believes that "kids of all ages" will enjoy the music. They hope to have the CD out this Spring.

I think this is a really neat idea. I know this kid is looking forward to it! I remember a couple of years ago, two kids were helping me get my room ready for Vacation Bible School and I taught them the song "He'd Still Been God." They LOVED it! I'm looking forward to a CD that can be enjoyed by the kids.

I read about that new project too Donna. Hopefully they will be selling it at the L5 Memorial Day weekend celebration which is the next time I will get to see GV.

Jeff, Hubby and I are going to Celebration 2008, too. So we'll have to make plans to meet!

I just found out that I will get to see GV before the Memorial Day Celebration in Nashville! They are going to be in Dayton, OH on April 4 along with Legacy Five. My son and I will definitely be going to that one.

As it looks now, we will get to see GV several times this year. In addition to the one above and the two shows at the L5 Celebration we will also see them:
August 3 in West Chester, OH (saw them there last July)
September 7 in Cincinnati
November 6 in Hillsboro, OH (same church where we saw the Dixie Melody Boys in September and Rodney Griffin's dad is the Pastor)

That's six GV concerts we should get to see this year! Woo Hoo!!

Gerald, you are really going to get sick of me and my son! And you know I'm going to ask you to sing My Name Is Lazarus and It Means Just What It Says every time we see you! We might even ask you to sing Oh Holy Night too!
