My Hawaii trip will be a little different from an all-gospel cruise. I'm thinking I may have some time to keep in touch with the folks back home thru the computer. Does anyone know if my AT&T cell phone service will work getting back to the mainland from Hawaii??

check out the AT&T web site. It should tell you. Or you may even want to call their customer service (!) group. Let me know if you can get anyone on the telephone!!

If I were a gambler I'd say he'd rather share with the guys.

Me, too!

DeeAnn and I have been "predicting" that Gerald would rather have the "guys" win the Favorite Artist category. Here's a clip from Greater Vision's newsletter yesterday:

quote:

The guys are nominated for ten awards in these nine categories:

Artist
Trio
Song (It Means Just What It Says)
Album (Everyday People)
Songwriter (Rodney)
Male Vocalist (Gerald)
Tenor (Jason)
Baritone (Rodney)
Lead (Gerald)

If you'll notice, it doesn't say Greater Vision and Gerald have been nominated for Favorite Artist. Do y'all think this means anything??????

I think it means he's downplaying the fact that both the group and himself are on the list.

I think since it is his group, he would WANT them to win it but even if he secretly wanted it himself, he is too classy to pitch for it!

Donna and Diana,

I pulled out my GV/Speck's video (at FBC Atlanta) and watched it again. I had forgotten that our forum twins were in it, so it was somewhat of a pleasant surprise to see y'all in the audience, just singing merrily along (as all attendees at SG concerts should do, no matter what my wife says). My 6-year-old daughter Abigail was impressed that I knew y'all.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I was a very happy lady at that concert! The best place this side of heaven is a Greater Vision concert!!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it and that you got some celebrity status out of it!

Yep. That was very special to be at the taping and then to actually be in the finished product!

Mrs. C. and I have been in some of those finished products. (Videos) Always nice to be able to see ourselves. Have not been able to do that in a while.

Santa, which videos were you on? you should stand out like a sore thumb! LOL, in a good way!

The only S.G. video that i have ever seen myself in the audience was Greater Vision/Legacy 5: Live at the Palace Theatre, it was made in Canton, OHio.

I keep looking for me in the crowd on the Kingsmen Perfecting the Crown Video, me and my sister were in the audience, but i still haven't found me yet! lol

I know that he was in "Live at Morristown!" And his lovely little bride was right beside him!

Wow! Would have to think about that one. I will not remember the names of the videos but some of the artisits videos are:

Greater Vision (one taped in Pigeon Forge and one from FBC, Morristown
Perfect Heart
Triumphant (taped at World Premier two years ago)
Most all of the World Premier videos for 10 years.

Probably others but cannot remember right now.

Depends on which version you're talking about. On the original cut, it was Mark Trammell. They re-recorded it for a Singing News compilation, I believe, and I think Rodney got the lead on that one.

I have the one from the album called "It's Just Like Heaven." Now that you mention it, it does sound like Mark Trammell. I have it on iTunes, and the album artwork shows Gerald, Mark, and someone else I don't recognize.

That would be Mark then.

The mystery guy is Chris Allman, GV's first tenor. I believe he's a minister of music somewhere now.

Wow!! I just got the update! I can't believe Jason is leaving! It won't be the same w/o him. I am however very excited that he will be going to seminary! That will be such a wonderful opportunity for him that he will look back and be glad He followed the Lord's leading!

Here is the e-mail for those who didn't receive it:

Jason Waldroup, Greater Vision's long-time tenor, has announced his plans to leave the group to pursue a Seminary education, beginning this Fall.

According to Jason..."This is a decision I have been struggling with for more than a year, and the time has come for me to follow what I believe to be God's will for my life. I have delayed this decision because of my love for what I've been privileged to do for the past thirteen years as a part of Greater Vision, and my relationships with Gerald and Rodney. They, along with Chad Baker, our Product Manager, are family to me, and they're my closest friends. That has made this decision that much more difficult."

Gerald Wolfe, manager of Greater Vision, states, "Jason is like a son to me, as well as being one of the closest friends I've ever had. None of us want to see him leave, but we have encouraged him to follow God's leading, no matter what, and leave the consequences to Him."

Rodney Griffin, the group's baritone, stated, "I will certainly miss standing beside Jason every night, but he has my full support as he moves into his next phase of ministry."

Jason will be active in the selection of his replacement and will remain with the group to help train the new group member until his schooling begins in the Fall.

Jason Waldroup joined Greater Vision in 1995. He has been the recipient of numerous Singing News Fan Awards, most recently being named Gospel Music's Favorite Tenor in 2007. He, his wife Missy, and their children, Abbie and Jonathon reside in Morristown, Tennessee.

Further details will be forthcoming in future Email Updates.
