GVfan -> RE: Just Everyday People--The Greater Vision Thread (7/1/2008 2:47:25 PM)

I just checked GV's schedule again (hoping it was gonna change, donchaknow). I just cannot believe that it will be August before I can see them again! Hubby and I had talked about going on the Alaska cruise (decided against it, good thing based on our current events) and it looks like that would have been the ONLY possibility to see GV in July! Looks like they'll be at Quentin Road Baptist Church (Chicago, IL area) at the end of July. That's the church where they recorded their last DVD.

Oh, well. I've just got to keep reminding myself that I get to see them twice in August. That'll have to do for now.[:@]

Go to Dinana's youtube library and watch them. I'm sure she has all your favorites recorded there. [:D]

I do that often!

Have I been asleep at the wheel? Has anyone else noticed a new CD on Greater Vision's website, Church Hymnal Favorites? The website says it's "The most loved favorites from the Church Hymnal Series." Guess that makes it a lot easier to listen to the "favorites" rather than having to keep swapping out the four CDs, huh? My favorite is still "Hymns of the Ages."

Ok. I feel better now. Gerald announced the new CD in the GV newsletter today. I thought maybe it had been up for a while and I just hadn't noticed! Very unlike me!!!

Can i poke my nose in here for just a min.?What I like about GV is EVERYTHING.Most of all I LOVE their Godly Spirit.Every time I hear them I can sense the presence of the HS in them.Their songs are just filled with the touch of the HS and the music compliments the words.

Me, too! This afternoon while my husband is recovering from his Cardiac Cath/stents procedure, we've been watchng Greater Vision sing their songs for us on their DVD, "Chicago Live." I also brought along "Live in Morristown" for later this evening![:D] There's nothing like listening to spirit-filled music/words at a time like this!

Gerald Wolfe wrote me a very encouraging e-mail about my husband's situation. What a guy! I really believe that Gerald and GV care for their fans/friends as much as we care about them!

Hey, I was just thinking. I haven't seen Gerald on here for a while. Where has he been hiding?

I haven't been hiding... just driving! I just got home from a three week trip to seventeen states and Canada. Lots of driving, and a little cruising (Alaska). It was a great trip, and now we load up again on Thursday night to head to Canada.

Wow! Makes me tired just thinking about it. I drove 50 miles to sing for 20 people and thought I had done something. I'm just loafing. lol.

Have a blessed trip to Canada

You can tell an 'old' SGM artist cause they can't type and drive at the same time! [:D]

Oh, DeeAnn, PLEASE do not give him ideas! I pray daily for their safety.....and me thinks typing/driving a bus simultaneously are not in the "safe practices" category!

Gerald, I'm looking forward to seeing y'all for Jason's last concert in Morristown.

LOL, Gerald is much to level headed to actually try to drive and type at the same time (well maybe, I did get an email once that he said - "driving to Louisville now" but I took that to mean once he finished typing[sm=aside.gif] I could have been wrong)

But I'm sure he's glad for the prayers for their safety and I hope that all of us remember to lift these guys and the other artists up in prayer as they travel!

I love being able to get the SN magazine on-line. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to skip over things real fast when I read on-line. So until today, I had not bothered to read the "Letters to the Editor." But, this morning while looking at a real copy of the magazine, I ran across the sweet, sweet good-bye letter that Jason Waldroup wrote to fans/friends. I think it's a great letter. He also mentions that Jacob Kitson "will do a fantastic job" with Greater Vision. If you haven't read it, you should. I'm really gonna miss Jason, but I can tell how much he's looking forward to the "new chapter" in his ministry.

Edit: And on page 17, there's the first SN group picture with Jacob!

I saw both!

My sister observes that not only did Greater Vision find a fit vocally, they also found a fit in appearance. She notices Jacob has the "Greater Vision Smile" - a smile that shows teeth, but only the top half.[:D]

I have observant sisters--trust them to notice such things. Another sister was the one who counted how many times GV tapped their feet last time we saw them.

When we were traveling to Alabama this weekend, hubby listened to the GV Kids CD in its entirety for the first time. HE LOVED IT! In fact, we repeated it a second time (and probably would have listened a third time, except we got to our destination).

For any of you who think this is just a kids' CD and probably isn't for adults, YOU'RE WRONG! The kids do an extraordinary job and the words to the songs are teriffic! You've got to get this CD!

Dinana -> RE: Just Everyday People--The Greater Vision Thread (7/28/2008 7:26:37 AM)

Amen, Sissy. It really is a great CD.

DeeAnnBailey -> RE: Just Everyday People--The Greater Vision Thread (7/28/2008 9:17:43 AM)

I cannot believe I walked right out of Spartanburg without getting that the other week! Talk about brain dead!!! [:D]

Another big week for Donna. This is Jason's final week and final performance with GV on Saturday night. Hope Donna can take two weeks in a row of loosing a favorite artist. [sm=icon_smile_cry.gif][sm=icon_smile_cry.gif]

Jason's farewell performance - August 2, First Baptist Church, Morristown, TN.

Donna will be fine. But, I'm really talking to myself about NOT doing a bunch of boo-hooing at the concert. I'm reminding myself that this is a celebration of his years with GV, not a funeral!

Are y'all going to the final concert, Bobby?

Penny (Chuck Wagon Gang) was asking last night about how you were doing about Jason's leaving!!! Guess most everybody knows how you feel about the GV guys!

I'm not Bobby, but I would have been at the GV concert except that I purchased tickets for the Mull Singing Convention concert the same night.

Now that I know there is going to be a bunch of [sm=crystreams.gif] at the concert, I'm kinda glad I'll be with Michael Combs and Gold City.

My daughter and I will be at the Mull's singing as well. I have a friend that actually plans to do both - not sure how she plans to run that race but she plans to spend some time at each concert.
