Need your prayers for my Kathy...she was hospitalized Monday for a minor surgical procedure. She did well. Is home resting. It appears that the procedure was a total success. Kathy and I have been very busy since Thanksgiving with our NOEL Concerts, a major Wedding that we officiated (wow..what an event), the afore mentioned health issues and
our regular ministry duties. I must get back to posting at my blog and on this forum.
I have been in contact with the guys. It appears that all of The Prophets had a very nice Thanksgiving and are looking forward to the Christmas holidays. Thanks for your interest. 2008 will be a neat year for TPQ!
So glad you are back with us Paul and thankful your Dad and Kathy are doing much better! Sounds like answered prayers to me! I have also been out of touch the last few days as well. My mother-in-law passed away Sunday night and we had her funeral service today. She was 94 and soooo ready to go be with the heavenly Father she loved. My last conversation with her Saturday was about Jesus and his love!

KATHY...please accept our condolences for the passing of your Grandmother. Your attitude is commendable. Her passing sounds like a glorious Homecoming! We will double our prayers for you at this time. What a blessing that you were able to hear her share of her desire for her heavenly home.
Your post gives me a great idea for my blog. Several fans and friends have asked me to post the lyrics of my song, "Mercy", at my site. I have another orchestrated ballad that The Prophets have also included on their soon to be released CD. The name of the song is: "I JUST CALL IT HOME"
...and yeh, it's about Heaven. I think that I will do a story on that song, and post it at my blog in the next 24 hours.
It's a tune that I have had the honor to sing at numerous Funeral services. God has always used it to touch hearts and lift spirits. I hope it will bless you. Heaven has been on my mind all day, today. I think it's because I have a dear friend and long-time prayer partner who is very near death. The family has already asked that I assist them in planning the Memorial service. This is never something that I take lightly. As I have prayed, through out the day, my song about Heaven has been on my heart..."but I'm longing for Jesus, so I Just Call It Home"
What a joy to know that your loved one is HOME!

Thank you so much Paul for your kind words on the passing of Sheltons mother, she was a dear saint and we will miss her presence with us but would not bring her back to the last two weeks of her life for anything. I cannot wait to hear the two songs you mentioned, they both sound very inspirational and comforting. I will be in prayer for your prayer partner friend and you as well that God will sustain and give exactly what is needed for the situation. God bless! Thank you for your prayers for us!

DB...the album is in the hands of the techsters. We sang our final notes last month. Have not heard that they need us to tweak anything yet. Had to postpone a photo-shoot due to some health issues in my family, about 2 weeks ago. Label was bringing in a special photographer from out of state...will be rescheduled soon.
Now...to answer your question. Don't have a date yet, but we have been assured that retail release will be first qtr '08. I'm gonna blog about one of our "big ballads" as the next post at my site. I will include the full lyrics and a little info on the arrangement. Thanks for your interest.

Paul, just received the Elvis Lives DVD when we got home from hospital. Looking forward to watching it. PBS carried the program twice while Carol was in hospital and we watched it both times. Modern technolgy sure makes things look real. It's amazing how they can do what they did with the video.

Paul...We watched the video several times....It is very good....Enjoyed the remarks Bro. Bill made about Elvis as well as some of the others. Again it was amazing how they worked the previous concerts into the video with the groups singing live with him.

Sorry I have been away from the threads so long. Had a very busy Christmas Season. Trips to Branson and Dallas....as well as all the regular family stuff. Hope to have some TPQ News soon.
Stayed with Jack and Sharon Price in Dallas.
Jack attended the Cotton Bowl with me. We also had a very good meeting regarding songs for some of his upcoming choral projects. FYI: Jack is the owner and CEO for PRISM Music of Nashville (Franklin). His company has printed many of my tunes over the years. Also played Jack a couple of cuts from The Prophets soon to be released CD. He loved them, particularly my patriotic song.
DANIEL: Jack loved our collaboration: "SAVIOR" (as I told you he would). Look for it in a major Choral release later this year. I hope TPQ will record this song on our next CD.
Finally, please pray for Kathy and me. Kathy's uncle passed away this week. We buried him Thursday...then our ministry's #1 prayer partner passed away yesterday. I am flying to Vancouver, BC to conduct her funeral on Tuesday. Appreciate your prayers for us...and this family.

Have just returned from Vancouver where I conducted the funeral service for our dear ministry prayer partner. I was very blessed.
FYI: James Burleson the former Melody Boys member and dear friend to Jonny Minick and me, passed away last Saturday. His memorial service was conducted here in Little Rock, AR, yesterday. The Prophets Quartet expresses deep sympathy to Shirley, the children, and the entire Burleson family.
James had recently encouraged me about my involvement with the revival of The Prophets.
Thanks James! We will always remember your class, talent and friendship.
