I’ll Follow – This is the title cut on the project. I agree with the others in that the music of this song is reminiscent of a 1980’s pop song. This could be a good thing. The people born in the 80’s are just about at the age to notice Southern Gospel. I like the song music lyrics and all. It is a departure from the style set by the first few songs on the project but will appeal to a younger crowd.

Ok, I guess I listened to far too much beach music cause I want to shag to this one! [:D]

I have been an ordained Baptist preacher for 35 years (this fall). I can assure you that Baptist do dance. Furthermore, King David danced.
Questions are, 1...who you dancin' with? 2...what you dancin' for?
(bad syntax, but you get the point)

You got my blessing to dance all you want...don't know what the "shag" is (must be too young)...but the WORD says that "to the pure ALL things are pure"...so, do the sanctified shag! Praise the Lord! Amen.

Paul, I found out something really amazing - if you put a letter in the mail with no stamp - they send it back to you, they don't deliver it!!! [:D]

Sorry having a brain dead day I guess, it's going back out!

I'm enjoying the CD!

Could this have something to do with all that dancin'?

The shag is something you do to beach music, made popular I believe on the boardwalk at Myrtle Beach.

DJSfromCleveland -> RE: PROPHETS QUARTET (7/17/2008 8:19:28 AM)

I was listening to the CD, and noticed something funny! maybe it's just i'm nutso![:D] On the song #9; Love Like The Sun;, when this song starts, i always think it's the theme to the Love Boat. I keep thinking its gonna say..."Love , exciting and new... come aboard, we're expecting you"!

Just like when i play Legacy 5's song , "I Found Grace" , i always think it sounds like Anchors Aweigh, when it starts up! [:D]

I bet my wife can "shag"...probably good at it. I will ask her...but she
might be as ignorant as me about it. She has never been to Myrtle Beach.

How old are you David? My 33 year old son was in the studio when we recorded that, and he said the same thing then. He grew up in the 70-80's.

By the way, GIVE JOHNNY MINICK ALL of the credit for the feel and arrangement on "Love Like the Sun"... He chose the song (from TPQ's old albums) and wrote a completely new chart for our project...it was a last minute add...the last song of the day. His idea all the way. I think it worked...almost everyone seems to love it!

DJSfromCleveland -> RE: PROPHETS QUARTET (7/18/2008 12:09:07 AM)

LOL, i'm 45 years old Paul. I remember the Love Boat. I used to watch it every week when it was on the original airing. I'm so glad that i'm not the only person who thought that song sounded like it. You might think i'm a weirdo! lol[:D]

pauljackson -> RE: PROPHETS QUARTET (7/18/2008 5:41:47 PM)

Right On! Groovey! Bro David...

pauljackson -> RE: PROPHETS QUARTET (7/20/2008 1:07:04 AM)

Time to mention again that, if you post in the SN forums, I will send you a new "I'll Follow" Cd by The Prophets (shipping & handling paid)...and bill you for the $15 purchase price. You may remit with check or cash.

Simply email or PM your request to me. You MUST include your mailing address...AND your phone number.

Kathy and I have now shipped copies of The Prophets' Cd to 18 different states in the USA...and 3 foreign countries. American Soldiers are being blessed, right now.
This afternoon, I received another email from some US troops in Iraq. They shared that this new Prophets recording is touching lives. Thanked us again for including a musical tribute to our soldiers. "Today we live in Freedom...Because THEY GAVE Their All!" Somebody say AMEN!

SEND your request today!

Which Blackwoods?

I'm hoping it's Jimmy Blackwood's group--besides having Jimmy with them (what a voice! and it's unbelievable how much he sounds like his father), they have one of the best bass singers on the road, Randy Byrd.

You will have a great time there. Greet Mark for me. You know, he is an AR guy too. From right here in the LR area. NLR, actually. Be safe!

Yeh...I would love to see and hear Randy. He "claims" AR, from his years living here while his Dad was pastoring in Benton.

I think the group on stage with us tomorrow is Mark's Qt.

danielmount -> RE: PROPHETS QUARTET (7/24/2008 3:42:33 PM)

Oh, they're good, too.

ecrook -> RE: PROPHETS QUARTET (7/24/2008 10:02:07 PM)

How many groups in SG have a pianist traveling with them? Can anyone name them?

Qtman -> RE: PROPHETS QUARTET (7/24/2008 10:12:32 PM)

I will start the list Mr. Crook.

The Prophets Quartet

Then there is the Inspirations
The Dove Brothers
The Dixie Echoes

And I will stop there and let someone else have a go at it.

danielmount -> RE: PROPHETS QUARTET (7/24/2008 10:17:10 PM)

I'll continue it:

The Perrys
Legacy Five
Old Paths
Hoppers
Gold City
Kingdom Heirs
Palmetto State
Triumphant Quartet
Liberty Quartet
Spoken 4
Collingsworth Family
Freemans
Mark Trammell Trio (doubling as lead singer)
Blackwood Brothers Quartet (doubling as baritone)
Ernie Haase & Signature Sound (though Wayne Haun isn't an official group member)

(Edit: QTman, didn't you edit your post to add the Inspirations, Dixie Echoes, and Dove Brothers?)

ecrook -> RE: PROPHETS QUARTET (7/24/2008 10:23:34 PM)

Is Wayne Haun playing piano with SigSound? Regularly?

I did Daniel but only because noone was responding and building a list. I was about to make another post listing most of the ones you had just listed. I was not sure about EH & SS at this time though.

Bill and I will be in Smyrna tonight. We will also have our daughter Hannah and our 3 year old grandson Eli. Sorry Paul, he's a big Imperials fan.
Bobby (finally got a box) and Carol York were there Monday and possibly Tuesday and Wednesday. We couldn't do Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and still get up at 4:30 to go to work. Gettin' old I guess.
See ya tonight !!

Yes, as I understand he has been at every date on their Summer Tour.

He was officially brought on board for the Summer Tour, but I think he'll be staying at least into the fall (and maybe longer, don't know).
