Paul, Jim Stewart sang (actually still sings) with a group called the Pine Ridge Quartet (at one time the Pine Ridge Boys). A guy named Laddie Cain sang tenor with them (before his Florida Boys and country days). Jim sang bass. That is how I originally met him. He drove tour buses for Charlie Burke for a while too and hence him driving our bus!

ORIGINAL: pauljacksonDJS...that is some cool stuff to see!Talked to BB yesterday. He and Ed had a great time in Memphis during ELVIS Week...all last week. They sang in several venues and really enjoyed it all. I will ask Ed today, about the other guy. quote:
undefined Do both Ed's still get together for the Elvis week? even after their little split with Ed Hill and the Stamps? The Stamps did not appear at the Thursday PM Tribute Concert (Fedex arena). "Former Members of The Stamps" were featured on the program (Bill Baize, Ed Hill, Donnie Sumner, Richard Sterban, and others). Ed Enoch was not part of the "Former Stamps" representation.

DeeAnn...talked to Ed Hill on Wed night. Of course he remembered Jim Stewart and even said that he saw where you referred to his daughter as a hoot. Got a charge out of that. FYI: Ed ministered Wed morning at a Senior Adult event at a large church in Memphis. He and Sharon said that the glory fell and that they were all moved powerfully by the presence of the Spirit! I love singing with that guy!

DeeAnn...Ed will be glad to hear that! Ha! Pray for Ed Hill and Bill Baize as they are flying to Kansas City today to sing at an "Elvis" event there this weekend! They have such unique opportunities to witness through song because of their experience of singing with EP.

DeeAnn... I'm looking forward to meeting Lisa...hadn't done that yet. Ed sure loves his grandson! Those are some great memories of the SA days. Ed is very fond of those years and the many wonderful "young" singers he was able to mentor.

Paul I sent an invite. The reason I have it set to sorta private is the sex bots that hound my friend requests. on myspace that is. I can't wait to hear the group. and watch out, me and QTMan are both diehard Bama fans. I grew up 100 miles or so down 20/59 from Tuscaloosa.

ORIGINAL: pauljackson DeeAnn...you are so right about all those great singers who sang with Ed Hill during his SA days...He had a few pretty good ones with The Prophets over the years! How's your memory on those? You are right, the difference is with SA I knew the guys personally and saw them often! With the Prophets I only saw them a few times in person so it's harder to remember individual things. But the one thing that is always true, Ed is a tremendous singer and always is surrounded by great singers!
