ORIGINAL: pauljackson Randy... My Dad's church was Forest Highlands Baptist, in west LR...north of Heritage. My brother Timothy attended several years at Heritage. My sons attended Arkansas Baptists and competed in basketball with Heritage...Minutemen? What years were you there? Where did your Dad pastor? While my Dad was from Rochester, Michigan, he always held a spot in his heart for Little Rock. As a new soldiier in WWII, he attended a church in Little Rock. I don't know what church it was, but my Dad found Jesus there. When he left for Europe he had his new faith, an army issued New Testiment, and a chorus they had sung the day he got saved. Safe am I, Safe am I In the hollow of His hand Sheltered o're, Sheltered o're In His love forever more No ill can harm me, No foe alarm me For He keeps both day and night Safe am I, Safe am I In the hollow of His hand. When he returned from the Black Forest. He went to Detroit Bible college and Seminary and became a Pastor. Thanks Little Rock. G.I.MOM...what a beautiful and blessed story! Little Rock is a great place to find Jesus! There are many people here that love Him...and serve Him. I am priviledged to pastor a group that loves Him dearly (The Highlands Church, sbc). I would like to know the name of the church that reached your Dad. Our's was not established until the 50's... but there were some great congregations here in the 30's and 40's. I hope to help bring The Prophets to central AR real soon. On behalf of the folks here in LR: "You are welcome!"
