ORIGINAL: Southerngirl90 Oh my gosh I would die!! I think I'm going to die if I have to get up before 8. If you think that's bad, try getting up at 7AM on a Sunday and having to skip church in order to prepare for a 5 hour drive into Pennslyvania to go sing on a TV station. Get lost going there while it's raining constantly on the way out. You get there at 7PM thinking that you're late for a live TV show, but find out that it doesn't start till 9PM. Ok, the program starts and goes for an hour. You leave there around 10:30PM. Your van's in bad mechanical shape and you wonder how in the world you'll get home since the headlights don't work. You have to wait till a quartet till 12 AM' to eat supper. (you couldn't stop on the way out because you thought you'd be late) Without even a fast food joint within the next hour of travel, you settle for gas station food. You get lost on the way back about 3 times and end up near Astabula, Ohio when you're supposted to be going towards Mansfield. You pull into Akron at 1:30 AM, Mansfield around 2:20, and get home at 3AM. You finally get in bed at 4 AM just in time to sleep a little and get up to start Monday. This was part of my weekend in the world of gospel music.

ORIGINAL: danielmount Well, I have a different problem than some of you do. After a dry spell, it's started raining here, and raining, and raining. After logging in early this morning, we found out that one of our garages had flooded. That wouldn't be a big deal...except that we're painting a room and had lots of books, files, and other things temporarily stored in the garage. So we spent 1 1/2 hours plus rescuing these books, such as could be rescued. Things got worse. Word had it locally--apparently on the radio--that the Post Office lost today's mail, apparently in the flood. And Singing News was due today or tomorrow. But then things got better: The newspaper says that the mail was not lost, although nearly the whole fleet of postage trucks might have to be scrapped. A photo of one of the lower areas of my city is in this article: http://mansfieldnewsjournal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070821/NEWS01/70821029 Whoa, you are pretty serious ... (no, it wasn't just the SN that brought me to that conclusion). I didn't realize things were that serious up there.

With the mail trucks damaged / totalled (?), a good chunk of town still isn't getting mail. Fortunately, our area did...but still no Singing News.
