You know...I have always said I hated living in the town I do and have always wanted to leave. There is just something about seeing the skyline of it in the distance though. Makes my heart leap, my eyes water, and its good to know i'm home. I often imagine that this is what getting to heaven is going to be like but times 1,000.

You know, I think part of how familiar it seems to us will depend on how much we set our affection on things above in this life--how much our focus is on being a citizen of Heaven, just placed in time for a while.

Well I'm back from a 7,400-mile western trip which took me all the way to the Pacific coast!

Sounds like fun! 7,400-mile, with the price of gas I hope you got good mileage did you make it to Yellowstone? I was out there a few years ago but did not get to make it to the cost.

Welcome!

We have the biggest snowstorm of the year here, and some people are already starting to say that it's the biggest snowstorm of the decade. We shall see...

We got great mileage, actually. It was much more affordable than I expected split 3 ways.

We didn't make it to Yellowstone. I wish we would've made it to more sites like that, but for as many states and places that we hit we just didn't have time to do everything.

Thanks!

Well if that snowstorm is a spinoff of the one we ran into in eastern Illinois this past week I can totally understand. ...ever drove a car for 60 miles on a sheet of ice?!?

This thread is starting to sound like the young folks/weather thread!

My input: It was 70+ degrees here yesterday, and they're calling for snow on Saturday!

Oh, news for me... I've been updating all my info on the web, searching for old friends and the like! Having fun with that! I'm on myspace, facebook, homeschool amuni, yahoo, and here!

That's a lot of information to keep up with...!

I'm also looking forward to the weekend! Yippee! Perhaps I can get some things done, and finally play some games on my laptop! Who knows! I haven't done that for a while!

I've come close. I had a 2-hour trip home from the airport earlier this year during a snowstorm. I left the airport at midnight and didn't get home until 2 AM. (And I'm not an evening person to start with!)

Weather...hmmm:

Freezing with ice on the windows in the morning.

Afternoon so warm you can be out without a coat in short sleeves and hope the wind blows.

Gotta love the south!
