That's interesting because a number of the bloggers who reviewed that song didn't especially care for "Gospel Road." Just goes to show that musical taste is diverse.

I was an exception!

I couldn't remember off-hand. I thought there was at least one who liked it. I think it's pretty good for bluegrass, and it adds a nice spice to the Kingsmen's concerts.

Well, it was me. (Maybe one or two of the others, too. :) )

youngartist -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/9/2008 5:13:34 PM)

I was almost surprised that you rated "When God Ran" at 5 stars - especially since I know you're an AVID fan of CCM. [:D]

(Like you, I'm not a CCM guy but I love this song, and I am just picking [;)])

danielmount -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/9/2008 5:14:32 PM)

Speaking of the old times, I just heard from MissGVL5P, whom many of you will remember from the first few threads. She said:

I'm actaully reading the Young Folk's Thread right now. I'm on page 59. I miss the old days too. I just found the link that Matt put on there with the FF cover photo. I miss the FF. Tell everyone I say "Hi!" and that I miss all the fun we used to have.

Hopefully she'll be able to make it back one of these days--we miss you, too. :)

youngartist -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/9/2008 5:16:11 PM)

Come on back MissGVL5P! [:)]

Time for us to quit moping and to get a reunion going again. [:D]

AngelInWaiting1983 -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/9/2008 9:55:40 PM)

I know you're just messing with me youngartist.

You know they are putting out another cd this year? I can't wait i'm very excited!

youngartist -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/10/2008 7:52:58 AM)

Wow, is it a production-release like Skywriting or a table project? I'd love to hear another album like this one! "I'm Gonna Take A Ride" is flat-out fine music, and I think Daniel would even appreciate that song. [:D]

That is a surprise.[:D] I wasn't as impressed with their cover of "When God Ran". It will be interesting to see how that does as the single. My favorites from the album are "Gospel Road", "Road To Glory", "Big Enough" and "A Sound From The Other Side". Another strong effort, but I can't quite determine if it is as good as Good, Good God.

Well, I thought it was a pretty good song originally, and OK by Phillips Craig & Dean (a friend played their rendition for me), but it's much better when done by a quartet.

youngartist -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/10/2008 9:35:33 AM)

I agree. But I know I'm SG biased.

danielmount -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/10/2008 12:19:52 PM)

Well, I like to think that I'm biased toward good songs...and SG has more of them than any other genre.[8D]

But I'll be the first to admit that some nice songs come out of other Christian genres, too. ...and some of the best of those are adopted into SG.[8D][:D]

youngartist -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/10/2008 1:38:08 PM)

What he said. [:D]

AngelInWaiting1983 -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/10/2008 8:09:36 PM)

Daniel you should listen to Mercy's Well version. I like it a lot.

Youngartist, their new album is going to be another Hymns project, but its Christmas...I'm so excited I can't wait!

danielmount -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/10/2008 9:01:30 PM)

OK.[:D]

AngelInWaiting1983 -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/13/2008 6:49:25 AM)

Aww, but that's not a new record-label album. [&:][:D]

Sometimes the albums that are not on record labels are pretty good, youngartist.[:)]

Perhaps you could send me one of your table projects, so I can judge for myself? [:D]

Amerigrandpa -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/13/2008 9:38:07 AM)

But then you would know who I am.[sm=sadquestion.gif][sm=popsigh.gif]

I do not even know what state you live in let alone your address. But perhaps someday.

Amerigrandpa -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/13/2008 9:50:05 AM)

This just occurred to me: If you go to our website and purchase it I will autograph it for you.[;)]

AngelInWaiting1983 -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/15/2008 1:51:32 PM)

Hey Youngin's! I dont know if most of y'all know this or not, but i'm relocating. I leave Thursday. I'm going to West Virginia.

danielmount -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/25/2008 10:02:28 PM)

Angel, where in WV are you moving? Anywhere near the OH border?

Kingsmen-fan -> RE: The Young Folks' SG Thread (6/26/2008 12:31:23 AM)

My family owned a farm in WV and almost moved there about 30 years ago (that was before I was born). I for one am glad they did not, who would want to be from WV when you could be from AL[;)]

As for the Kingsmen's new songs "Road To Glory" is my favorite! I also like "The Cloud He's Coming Back On," "When God Ran," and "Gospel Road". One I also like is "More Than Pray" at first I did not like it to much but I guess it grew on me.
