Miss Giggles -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/12/2007 3:36:39 PM)

So you want to know who was voted out ? Because it probably has to do with why they are changing the format of the show

Also I don't know if they intended for Kim to stay on the show. Jillian had some other project that she was working on but she came back

Go24 -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/12/2007 3:59:54 PM)

Do the changes have something to do with penalizing people for tanking it for a week and gaining weight?

I'm happy with the final 4. I'd like to see Julie win, but either of the other 2 girls would be fine, as well. I like Bill, but we NEED to have a female win this thing. Otherwise, it'll just prove that the only "change in format" that will ever make a difference is to have men compete against men and women against women.

jodavi -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/12/2007 4:55:39 PM)

I know who went home last night since we watched the last half hour. 'just wondering what the change is for next season. I really don't care about any of the girls-- maybe Hollie. But Isabeau and Julie, they just rub me off the wrong way from the very beggining.

ddsisson -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/13/2007 9:18:18 AM)

I knew who left too, I guess I missed something. What is changing for next season, did they say something?

Faun_Tumnus -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/13/2007 7:51:57 PM)

I missed it, but just knew that if Neil fell below the line he'd be gone. I'm not too sad, after his stunt that one week of gaining weight, but whatever.

I'm rooting for Hollie.

What will change next season? I missed it.

Basically they are going to a amazing race type format. I don't don't know how that'll play out, but the Australian version is similar from reports, and has had 4 trainers from the get go.

As I said. Unless there are no men in the finals, a woman will never win this game.

Faun_Tumnus -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/19/2007 7:04:10 PM)

So the twins did it. Jim actually lost a bigger percentage of weight than Bill, but I think he also had more to lose. Julie was so close, though.

the nest season is the one that they advertised last night. No Kim, just Bob and Jillian. Kim will be back next fall.

jodavi -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/19/2007 7:34:08 PM)

Julie looked really great last night. Her and Kae, I think had the biggest tranformation among the ladies.

Miss Giggles -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/19/2007 8:36:33 PM)

Yes I wish one of them would have one, both of them were petite (5'2 or something like that). They didn't say what size they went down to but I am guessing Kae and Julie probably got down to sizes 2-6 and they had a lot of muscle.

zmanfan38 -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/19/2007 10:22:47 PM)

Does it seem strange that one gender has won all 4 seasons? Nothing against the guys at all, it would strike me as odd if a woman won all 4 seasons too.

Miss Giggles -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/19/2007 10:29:38 PM)

No it's not odd, its the way the show is set up, men can drop weight faster than women and most of the men were heavier than the women. The less you have to lose the slower it will come off. So in this show a 300 + pound man will usually win because its easier for him to lose weight than a woman over 200 pounds.

True, but it still isn't fair!!

zmanfan38 -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/20/2007 12:21:25 AM)

Oh, that makes sense Miss Giggles. Had not thought of that. Makes you wonder if they might find lighter men one of these seasons to maybe tip the scale (so to speak) in favor of the women? Who knows, I just have one of those analytical minds...always what if.[:D]

MyCatSmokey2006 -> RE: Biggest Loser (12/20/2007 12:31:58 AM)

Now they have this "One Million Pound Challenge" or something like that, starting in January. They want people from across America, (or is it the world?) to join in a challenge to lose that amount of weight. I think that you can sign up at the show's link at NBC.com.

I wish that I could be on the Biggest Loser, but I cannot do the rigorous exercises that they do with my foot problems. [:(] I'll check on this million pound challenge thing and see if I can participate in it.

I went to the website and found a forums board, which is actually one of the ones on nbc.com. I can post comments about the show and updates on weight loss, etc. At the BL website, I also read Ali's blog. Very interesting reading.

EDITED to correct and update information.

If it given the opportunity, I would have loved to see the women team up on Neil and Bill, and get them off, but that never happened.

wareaglekd -> RE: Biggest Loser (3/17/2008 12:19:27 PM)

I just had to post a note to NBC regarding last week's episode. I had to double check the channel to make sure it was on NBC. I thought I was watching Fox! I've just about had it w/ Brittany's drama & her constant bleep bleep bleep. And it was just the last straw w/ Jillian's outbreak. I understand the frustrations & the drama & all, but it went just a bit too far this time. For crying out loud, children are watching this show! It seems to me w/ all that they are recording in a one week period, they could find better stuff than what they showed this past Tuesday instead of it winding up on the editing room floor! I can expect this behavior on shows like the Apprentice, but a show that is geared to truly help people, I don't think this is the way to get viewers & most of all keep viewers.

Has anyone yet figured out when this season is going to end? This one was done so differently that it's hard to tell what they are doing w/ eliminations & bringing people back, etc. Maybe I'm just starting to grow weary of this one. I don't really have a favorite that I would like to see win the whole thing. Maybe Dan just based on his age & him coming on w/ his mom. I think though the whole contest is going to wear out it's welcome due to the likelihood we will never see a female winner. Maggie & Brittany are really losing right, so they need to get a grip & accept the reality of it. It's just going to be a lot harder for a woman to win. They can go very high in this thing, but a man will always outdo them. That's the nature of the body chemistries. kd

teaspoon61 -> RE: Biggest Loser (3/20/2008 7:01:24 PM)

OOOOOOOOOOOOOO Thank You for saying what I was thinking!!!
I like the show enough, it's not one I have to watch, but it's ok.

I too get so upset with the language some of these people use. I use it as a lesson to my kids who are ususally watching with me. I tell them, if you use only good words then you don't need to have someone bleep you out. In fact one night when watching Idol, one person just went nuts with profanity, I told them how ridicilous the person looked. Again reinforcing this person's poor choice of behavior.

I would love to see a woman win this contest, unfortunatly, men have the advantage on this. Just because they are men! This show is proof that men loose weight faster and more consistently than women. DARN THEM!![:@] [;)][:D]

Calea37 -> RE: Biggest Loser (3/21/2008 4:35:26 PM)

I think they should have a male and a female winner; it would be a lot more fair!

teaspoon61 -> RE: Biggest Loser (3/24/2008 6:39:39 PM)

I was thinking that too before. The problem is all the other past contestants would probably file a lawsuit against NBC for doing it after the show started. [:@]

Calea37 -> RE: Biggest Loser (3/24/2008 8:51:27 PM)

Or it would freshen it up (which is what I guess they were attempting to do with the whole couples thing).

I didn't watch this show the first couple of seasons, but one thing I don't care for is the whole "game play, alliance" thing...[:'(] Have they always done that, or is it new?

They wouldn't have any grounds for a lawsuit -- they played the game under the rules at the time, and I'm sure were furnished with many, many pages of documentation as to how it would go, and what they had no control over.

Besides, with Allison's weekly revelation that "the game is about to change", I'm sure there are plenty of clauses written in about expecting the unexpected, and that the producers have absolute power in the twists and turns of the show.

Any and all contestants should know enough to know that a woman can't beat a man in a weight-loss competition (or if it happens, it'll be a rare occurrence!).

Miss Giggles -> RE: Biggest Loser (3/25/2008 8:59:50 AM)

they had 800 people audition from Michigan to be on the next season. They'll make final casting decisions about May 1st.

I think they are continuing the teams of two.

The strategy/alliance stuff started last season. This season decided to do the same thing. [&:]
