Canucks are playing the red wings as i write this. They are down though 2-1 in the second period. Hope they can pull it out tonight

Ok, the NHL seriously needs to put the smackdown on the Flyers. They're playing like a bunch of goons and it's not like they're playing tough, physical, but clean hockey, they're just dirty. And, this is why hockey needs fighting--I don't think it's a coincidence that the game against the Lightning where Vinny dropped the gloves early on and went at it over a cross check was also one of the cleaner games the Flyers have played this season. When even the superstar player is willing to drop the gloves over a dirty play, it sends a message that nobody on the team is going to put up with that junk.

Agree with you here. The Flyers are becomeing the Brod Street Bullies of the past.

Except that the Broad Street Bullies didn't go around routinely giving hits to the head. Back in the era before they wore helmets, hits to the head were extremely rare--they knew it was dangerous, and they knew that if they tried it, they were going to find themselves having to fight.

What a different game tonight the nucks played then a 3-0 loss to Nashville. They went into Colorado who had not lost at home so far this season and the nucks beat them and play there best game so far this season.

rynthetyn -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/4/2007 1:02:36 AM)

Well, the Lightning managed to blow a 3 goal lead and give up 4 unanswered goals. They're a good team, they need to figure out what it is in their heads that's making them do this.

I've got word that Eric Lindros is retiring from the game. (Finally!!) He will make his announcement on Thursday.

I wish Jeremy Roenick do the same, lol..[:D]

I heard that to. Glad to hear it. I never really liked him.

The Sens are looking good right now. Only one loss. It is early though.

Check this out. Dude is going to a game in all 30 arenas in 30 days. Oh yeah, I might mention that dude is from Florida and is a Lightning fan. And who was it who said people in Florida don't like hockey?

Wish I could do that. That would be awesome.

The Nucks are on a role now!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Two in a row. I know that isn't to impressive but they are starting to dwell as a team and are looking good again.

Should be a good one tonight against Colorado though

colliefan -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/9/2007 8:31:40 PM)

The Canes stunk up the RBC in a loss to the Bolts last night. They haven't played two stinker games in a row so they should do well against the Thrashers in Atlanta tomorrow night.

Well, I wouldn't call running into a goalie who got 40 saves "stinking". Homer is just awesome is all...

Yankee Nut -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/10/2007 8:49:02 PM)

Nucks won again. This time in OT against Colorado. They are starting to look like the team of last year.

rynthetyn -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/10/2007 9:45:25 PM)

Well, the Lightning have gotten their act back together. They just beat the Capitals handily, and even though the Caps aren't exactly good, the Bolts don't usually do so well against them.

colliefan -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/10/2007 10:03:49 PM)

The Canes bounced back from a disappointing loss to the Bolts and beat the Thrash 5-3. Had another "bad: first period but came on strong down the strech.

gaylel1 -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/11/2007 4:40:10 PM)

Last night's Kings game w/Dallas was a move of God!!

It seems like every time they attempt those comebacks, its just like revival breaking out at Staples, lol....[:D]

Kopitar, Brown, Cammi are the new face of the NHL.....[;)]

Yankee Nut -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/11/2007 5:57:54 PM)

JR Scored his 500th Goal for the Sharkies last night

rynthetyn -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/14/2007 11:55:12 PM)

Sorry colliefan, but I've just got to say it.... Hah, hah.

Johnny Grahame was probably hitting up the clubs in Ybor last night, if his past behavior is any indication.

chemdude77 -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/15/2007 11:22:18 PM)

Sharks shut out Phoenix! Marleau had three assists (502)...

rynthetyn -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/16/2007 1:20:26 AM)

Oh, did you all hear about the stupid Leafs rookie who took nude photos of himself and posted them on facebook? Of course, they didn't stay on facebook. When are these people going to learn, if you put something on the internet, it's not going to stay private?

The Canes play in the loss to the Bolts and tonight's loss to the Trash was pathetic. In tonight's game Ward kept it from being the blowout the loss to Bolts. Tomorrow they play the Panthers so it will be interesting to see who shows up.

Can you say AHL?

Yankee Nut -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/21/2007 12:38:42 AM)

The Canucks have been playing some good hockey right now in beating Calgary and Minnesota and a couple of shootout losses to Edmonton. Should be interesting to see how they play against Minnesota tomarrio.

rynthetyn -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/22/2007 2:44:04 AM)

The Lightning looked really bad tonight. Even Vinny Lecavalier didn't play very well. Didn't help that the refs were morons to the 3rd degree, and that whenever a goal review goes to Toronto, they always rule against us.

But enough of that. After the game they had a Seether concert on the plaza outside, it was pretty entertaining watching clean-cut looking guys in Lightning jerseys reliving their teenage years and moshing. Also entertaining was the little girl, couldn't have been more than 7, who was dressed all in pink and sitting on a parent's shoulders headbanging through the whole show.

colliefan -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/22/2007 10:10:32 PM)

The Bolts play the Canes tomorrow night at the RBC Center. After the Canes play last night against the Flyers it may not be a pretty sight for Canes' fans.

operalady -> RE: NHL 2007-2008 (11/23/2007 9:32:02 AM)

Well, something had to happen!
Caps have a new coach... from the Hershey team...hmmm

At first I was thrilled, (my dh thought I was too happy for a guy that lost his job on Thanksgiving!) then got to thinking about it... Caps haven't done well since we had a coach with NHL experience... and this will be our 3rd AHL coach... albeit an interim coach...

The quotes from the players sound like they are in mourning, rather than excited over a new coach...

I guess time will tell. If things still go bad, then, gmgm needs to go!
