Dinana -> RE: NQC 2008 (10/19/2007 7:52:13 AM)

I'm thinking that dbm was gently teasing us, but I think what we're talking about here is the degree of showmanship!! I think our own SG pianists have great showmanship that really doesn't "mess up our blessing!"

So how about we call that showmanship, and just say we can do without over-exaggerated showmanship?

robertyork -> RE: NQC 2008 (5/3/2008 4:25:54 PM)

Today is Derby Day in KY. Just checked hotel rates for tonight. If you can find a hotel there you are lucky. Super 8 close to Expo Center $375.00. 150,000 in attendance at Derby.

And we are complaining about rates at NQC this year?????

MsJudy -> RE: NQC 2008 (5/3/2008 6:44:24 PM)

I'm not complaining, as I have the same ROOM every year for the same price! I've always stayed at the EX West. And I don't need tickets, Thank God, I have 4 booths, so I get my passes. Anyway, I'm packed and ready.....shoot, I travel so much, I hardley ever get fully unpacked before it's time to hit the road for somewhere else. LOL. I just have 1 bag I put dirty laundry in, and throw it in the wash when I get home, take it out and put it back in the suitcases. Oh my.....I do need to cut down on suitcases!!! I only take 4, plus my garment bag!! I take one just for SHOES! HAHA............but I do keep one suitcase packed most all the time for just an over-nighter.........and with me, ya never know when that might happen....I have a hairdryer, curling iron, lotions, & etc that is never taken out of the main case I take. Yeah, I know the room has a hairdryer, but I normally have someone, or several someone's in the 2 room suite with me, so I prefer my own things.....even my own PILLOW. hehehe....sure hope to meet lots of you this year. I should be sort of easy to find, I got an end cap booth also this time. Somewhere around the 1100 & 1200 aisles.....don't remember the exact #'s right off top of my head....I'm too blonde for all that.....ROTFLOL...............

edited cuz I can't spell this evening...hehehehe

GVfan -> RE: NQC 2008 (5/4/2008 1:26:07 PM)

Ms. Judy, I'm looking forward to seeing you again! We're going up for Thur-Fri-Sat. Can't wait!

heather84 -> RE: NQC 2008 (5/4/2008 6:34:08 PM)

I have a booth this year [:)] I'm excited. My booth number is 886!

Heather, are you in a group? Or a soloist? Or selling something??????

robertyork -> RE: NQC 2008 (7/25/2008 2:17:34 PM)

I see where Kim Collingsworth is going to be featured on Dino's showcase at NQC this year.

Dinana -> RE: NQC 2008 (7/25/2008 2:29:01 PM)

Where did you see that, Bobby? Do you think it's because she's not going to be able to be at Pianorama?

I think there was a Gaither date on Saturday they were going to be doing. I can hardly blame them, since NQC still hasn't seen fit to even give them one time slot on mainstage.

(And this tidbit of news makes me say "maybe" to something I never thought I'd say "maybe" to--going to part of a Dino showcase! But I would slip out as soon as her part was over.)

That's the spirit.

An open mind is a dangerous thing.[sm=cooltilt.gif]

Don't understand why so many people are down on Dino. I have seen his show in Branson and it is one of the best I have ever seen. GREAT pianist and gives God the glory for all.
Just needed to throw my opinion in here. And why should he not be at NQC. They want the best there is and he IS one of the best.

danielmount -> RE: NQC 2008 (7/27/2008 10:34:21 AM)

I just prefer listening to Southern Gospel pianists.

(Seriously, now that Matthew Holt is off the road, Kim Collingsworth is about the only pianist that would get me even thinking about a Dino showcase. Stewart Varnado would, but he's not Dino's style and probably wouldn't get invited there.)

I think Dino is very good, and in the right setting I enjoy him greatly. He's a little "showy" and "glizty" for me, but he is very good. And, you ARE right Santa, he does give the Glory to God, repeatedly.

I prefer to see him apart from standard Southern Gospel piano playing. But, Kim Collingsworth does give him a run for his money and depending on what is going on at the same time as Dino's showcase, I just might drop in, too! But if I can go, I'll probably stay for the entire showcase.

oksgfan -> RE: NQC 2008 (7/31/2008 6:19:15 PM)

I have some EXCELLENT tickets (2 seats) for Thur-Sat at NQC. I'm looking to sell these as a complete set to someone going for the very first time. If you know of anyone, please PM me.

Thanks!

hopperfan -> RE: NQC 2008 (7/31/2008 9:16:47 PM)

Okay, my mom, dad and I are thinking about going Friday and Saturday night, that is the only days time permits with me still being in school and stuff. The showcases during the day, they said Featured Artist--how do you know who the featured artists are? Does anyone know of any cheap hotels there?

Email from NQC:

http://www.tbn.org/index.php/9/49.html
..to tell them how much you enjoyed the special.

robertyork -> RE: NQC 2008 (8/1/2008 9:50:07 AM)

I keep hearing that NQC is going to be the biggest year ever this year. Some have reported that Thursday night will be close to, if not, the first every sellout. I recently check tickets for Thursday night and looks to me like there are still plenty of tickets available for Thursday night as well as all other nights. The vass majority of tickets available are in the 300 section, upper level. If you are planning to attend I would suggests that you make your selection of tickets and get your order in. It could be a sellout and you might find yourself without a seat for the great event.

DOVEFAN -> RE: NQC 2008 (8/1/2008 10:57:02 AM)

I'll be there again this year!!!!!![:D]
