Jeff_from_Kentucky -> LAw & Order:SVU Thread (9/26/2007 2:23:50 PM)

I searched and couldn't find a thread for this series so I thought I would start one. I apologize if there was one and I missed it.

Did anyone catch the season 8 premier last night. Cynthia Nixon will definitely be nominated for a guest appearance emmy next year. She was really good!

The thing I love about this show is how they always throw in a twist at the end. Sometimes I figure it out ahead of time and sometimes I don't. Last night I was half right. I thought she was faking the multiple personality disorder but I didn't suspect that her sister was involved and the whole thing was a plot to kill their parents.

Oh, and it was nice to see Bronson Pinchot and hear him speaking in his normal voice instead of a goofy accent.

Miss Giggles -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (9/26/2007 5:28:00 PM)

I think he guest starred before but I am not sure if it was on the same role since I watch all 3 of them. I thought the daugher was being too whiny - you can't be pregnant , you're embarrasing me. Not sure if they'll give the family a bigger part.

But yeah, maybe he wants to forget he was Balki. Ha ha.

What disappoints me about this show is that I read that Richard Belzer is going from regular to recurring status. I always liked his John Munch character, even when he played the same role in Homicide: Life On The Streets.

I wonder if the decision was his or the producers.

Anyone catch tonight's episode? Kevin Tighe was great as the creepy pervert. That is quite a change from what he used to play. Those who are old enough will remember him as Paramedic Roy DeSoto on the 1970s series Emergency, the show that inspired me to become an EMT and sent me on to a 20 year career as an Air Force medic.

The thing I love the most about this show is how they usually throw in a twist at the end that you didn't expect. Tonight was no different. His first kidnap victim was still alive and had been waiting for him to return for 25 years because she loved him. I loved Kevin Tighe's reaction when he saw her - "You got old!" That was a classic!

I tuned in, the hot Native American guy is her new partner? And there's a Irish (?) guy doing science-y stuff for them...same old predictable plots and performances, but hurray for the new eye candy.[8D]

wareaglekd -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/8/2007 10:15:45 AM)

Seems the "blasts from the past" are being put in some really creepy roles. What a way to make a comeback! k

Jeff_from_Kentucky -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/9/2007 11:19:59 PM)

Another good episode tonight. For the first 20 minutes or so I certainly thought Melissa Joan Hart's character was guilty.

Leslie_JnJs_mom -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/10/2007 12:37:09 PM)

SVU is one of my favorite shows. I am so excited there are finally new episodes to watch! I got tired of watching episodes that I could recite almost by heart.
I am so glad Stabler got back with his wife. I was depressing to watch when his home life was falling apart.
Do you think the way he treated the firefighter husband last night is a new understanding Stabler or was that just written into the plot of that one episode?

wareaglekd -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/10/2007 5:08:05 PM)

When did Stabler get back w/ his wife & what led to it. I missed a lot of episodes last season since I was dependent on summer reruns. I'm so glad NBC does encore on Saturday. I don't stay up after 9/10 on Tuesday. k

Leslie_JnJs_mom -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/11/2007 1:38:51 PM)

Oh I want to tell you but I would hate to spoil it for you when you get a chance to watch the re runs.

wareaglekd -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/11/2007 2:00:50 PM)

Oh, no more last season. Now just the Tuesday night shows reshown on Saturday. kd

I think that Stabler could have easily seen himself in that situation - both are public servants who have to work long, unusual hours which results in a strained home life. In other words, he's been there, though it was not exactly the same situation. If the guy had been anything other than a firefighter or a cop, I think Stabler would have hauled him to jail.

Leslie_JnJs_mom -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/11/2007 3:19:16 PM)

Well since you wont see the reruns let me see if I get this right. If I dont please feel free to correct me.
Stabler was working on a very hard case and went to see his kids. To make a long story short him and his wife got to talking then other things. They start repairing the marriage then she tells him she needs him to move back home because she is pregnant. I do not remember that episode really well so feel free to fill in missing parts[:D]

Jeff_from_Kentucky -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/17/2007 10:00:39 AM)

Did anyone see the show last night? I liked the little girl and how she would always say "The end!" when she finished telling a story. I really liked the scene where she asked the judge for a hug. The judge said no then when she saw the look on the girls face she said "well, maybe later." [:D]

I about died laughing at the scene in the doctors office when the pregnant lady thought that Fin and Lake (the new guy) were a gay couple trying to have a baby, especially when Lake put his hand on Fin's knee! [:D]

I know the episode wasn't supposed to be a funny one but there were some parts that I couldn't help but laugh at. On the other hand, I was not happy at the end because the girls dad turned out to be a real jerk.

Miss Giggles -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/17/2007 10:42:49 AM)

From the earlier post,

The older daughter also made a comment when Stabler spent the night - that he needed to make up his mind about staying or leaving. Then his wife found out she was pregnant. So he decided to stay and work on his marriage.

I watched it last night, the husband was a jerk. Wow.

Jeff_from_Kentucky -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/23/2007 11:33:14 PM)

Another good episode tonight. I can definitely see both sides of the issue too. As a Christian, I abhor the idea of any type of physical or mental torture, but as an American who wants to protect his kids, I can see using every way possible to get the necessary information to prevent future attacks.

annieflowergirl -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/24/2007 9:19:49 PM)

Went to sit down and watch SVU tonight, and found out that my DVR didn't record it! [:@] Could someone catch me up? Thank You!!!

zoebob -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/24/2007 9:20:51 PM)

It should be on again on Sat.

wareaglekd -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/25/2007 5:34:05 PM)

I don't think so. I think they are showing Scary Movie & Bionic Woman. Bummer. kd

figmentPez -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (10/26/2007 4:59:20 PM)

If you get USA, the most recent episode "Harm" will be showing again on Sunday Nov 4th at 11PM Eastern/10PM Central. (at least, according to the TV listings on zap2it.com )

Jeff_from_Kentucky -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (5/13/2008 11:21:17 PM)

Did anyone catch the season finale tonight? Three regular cast members leaving!

ADA Casey Novack suspended for one year.
Detective Chester Lake murders a rapist/cop.
Fin transfers out of SVU.

Wow! I knew Diane Neal was leaving the show but I didn't know about Ice-T and Adam Beach!

Leslie_JnJs_mom -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (5/13/2008 11:53:35 PM)

I missed it since I was hiding in my neighbors closet. We were watching the tornado warningmap during the first 10 or 15 min then then the weather man broke into the show and told our town to take shelter. What really bites is that the storm seemed to dissolve right over us. I missed that show for nothing.

Jeff_from_Kentucky -> RE: LAw & Order:SVU Thread (5/14/2008 3:05:16 AM)

Sometimes USA reruns it on Sunday nights at 11:00pm eastern. You might be able to catch it then.
