the movie was good, but i am dissapointed because i dont think they are making more movies, which is lame, because they really need to finish the whole series. [8|]

Does anyone here like Victorian fantasy?(there must be a nice neat term for this genre, but I don't know it!) I loved Kenneth Oppel's books Airborne and Skybreaker, they were cool

uh...victorian fantasy? i have no idea what that is [:D]

rae_of_light -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/17/2007 1:00:35 PM)

Victorian fantasy is just kinda something that I made up, because it was set in the victorian age. Okay, have you ever read 20,000 leagues under the sea or anything else by Jules Vern? Cuz he wrote what is called classic science fiction, which is kinda what I'm talking about. The Victorian age, just filled with all these fantastic machines.

ChiefWannahakaloogie -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/17/2007 1:02:04 PM)

oh, i see.
no, i haven't read 20,000 leagues under the sea, though i have wanted to for quite some time.

DreadPirateRandy -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/17/2007 4:43:46 PM)

I've been reading the dictionary lately.

rae_of_light -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/17/2007 4:55:28 PM)

Oh really? I used to read the encyclopaedia when I was younger!

Did you watch the Pride and Prejudice movie with Kiera Knightly??

The end was so sweet!!! [:D]

That movie made me want to read the book. Just like LOTR did.

i LOVE that movie[:)][:)]

Mr. Darcy and....i can't remember her name, but that girl(played by Kierra Knightly) are SO cute[;)]

It's quite the advantageous exploration of unconstrained sagacity.

What are you whating at?

XYU -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/17/2007 5:30:24 PM)

I recently read 'The God Delusion' by Richard Dawkins followed by 'The Dawkins Delusion' by Alister McGrath. Both a very interesting read. Not sure I would recommend either though.
I am not that much into fiction books atm.

rae_of_light -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/17/2007 6:32:12 PM)

Is The Dawkins Delusion a reply to The God Delusion, or is the similarity in names merely coincidental?

Yes but they old one with Colin Firth is WAY better! Have you seen it? COLIN FIRTH!

No, I haven't yet! I want to, but I cant find it. And I dont want to just buy it first.

Her name was Elizabeth. The only reason I remember that is because Knightly played and "Elizabeth" in the Pirates movies.
