Wow. This thread went south in a hurry. What's your favorite history book?

rae_of_light -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/19/2007 5:58:48 PM)

What do you mean by history book? Like one that I'd read for school? Or historical fiction?

Doesn't anyone read non-fiction history for fun?

rae_of_light -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/19/2007 6:06:57 PM)

HAHAHAHAHAHA...HA... ha. Oh, I thought you were joking!!! No, I've never read non fiction history for fun. Doing my history reading for school is painful enough!

What do you mean by ancient authors? I read a lot of classics, but I don't think I've read anything ancient, except for the Bible, of course!

Ronnizzle -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/19/2007 6:56:36 PM)

anyone read Wuthering Heights by whatsherface Bronte?

rae_of_light -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/19/2007 7:00:06 PM)

That would be Emily Bronte, but no, I haven't read it. I read part of it a while ago, but never finished because I was reading it online and I kind of forgot about it! [&:] But right now I'm reading a book by her sister, Charlotte Bronte, and it's wicked good!!

Ronnizzle -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/19/2007 7:10:18 PM)

oh! that's her name! i knew it was something Bronte and since Charlotte wrote Jane Eyre i was thinkin her name was Jane, but obviously i was wrong. don't read Wuthering Heights. the characters are very dark and evil, especially Heathcliff and Catherine. i started reading Jane Eyre after i finished reading about Heathcliff and his evil ways, but it was kinda depressing so i didn't. i needed to read a happy book after reading Wuthering Heights.

rae_of_light -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/19/2007 8:35:51 PM)

Hahaha, yeah, my mum didn't give me permission to read Wuthering Heights until I was like 12 because she thought it was too depressing for me! Jane Eyre is happy, at the end!! I LOVE Jane Eyre, it's my favourite book!!

Has anyone read any Ted Dekker or Frank Peretti books? I like those books, they're awesome! My favourite was Blink by Ted Dekker. Awesome plotline!

Ronnizzle -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/19/2007 9:14:10 PM)

oh my crackers!!!! finally someone who reads stuff that i do! i love frank peretti and ted dekker! i started reading blink, but never finished it cause i had to turn it in at the library. i really liked the circle trilogy and three. that makes me happy. now i'm all smiles! [:D]

rae_of_light -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/19/2007 9:41:17 PM)

Oh my goodness, you didn't finish Blink?!?! You've gotta, the end was cool!! I've read it a couple times, 'tis awesome!! Blessed Child and A Man Called Blessed were good too, have you read those ones? They had a cool plot. Ted Dekker's genius!

Ronnizzle -> RE: The book thread of doom (10/19/2007 9:44:09 PM)

ok, the next time i volunteer at the library i will totally recheck it out and no i haven't read the blessed series. they're never there when i'm at the library.
