Yah, I've had those run where I thought the route would be perfect but once I got out there realized it wasn't! Can't remember when I posted last. Friday I did my weekend long run. At 6am it was 72* with enough drizzle to make steam rise off the road. Half way through the run it did rain. A gullywasher that jsut made my shoes feel like they were made of lead! 16miles at a 9:30 pace. Saturday, my younger kids did a kids duathlon. They had a blast! After taht we drove over to Grandma's for a family reunion. In the evening I was able to go for a run. Funny story about that run-- I had accidentally parked my cousin in. He figured no biggie, he'd wait until I got back from my run. Noone thought to look for my keys. When I got back, I popped in the house, grabbed my wallet and told people I was running to the grocery store. My cousing figured while I was at the grocery store he could get his car out. Except, noone realized I was litterally running ot the grocery store! Sunday, my younger kids and I did a bicycle tour. We chose the metric half century. It should have been 31 miles, but it turned out to be 36 miles. My guys did great! Last year, I hammered the full century with my oldest son, the way I prefer to ride. However, this year, it was fun to relax and enjoy and not worry about time/pace. Today, I did nothign. I had my stuff set out to go to the gym this morning. I didn't set my alarm, figuring if I woke up early enough I'd go. If not, that was okay because I probably needed the sleep. Tomorrow, its back at it!
