Calea--I don't have a "standard week". I participate in various activities, so we go by what event is next. Generally, I'm around 20-30 miles/week. Closer to the marathon, it will be 40+. Right now, my workouts look sorta like this: Monday--rest Tuesday--yoga class, swim Wednesday--swim, run Thursday--bike, run Friday--swim, run Saturday--long run Sunday--long ride or ride/run I am certain you could complete a half marathon. Cut one of your daily runs down a bit, and add those miles to a long on the weekend. When I ran my first HM, finishing I felt like a million bucks. I ran a 2:28. We're talking bottom 25%. But, I finished!!! I ran a couple more, then a full. The following season, I was SHOCKED when I placed 2nd in a smaller HM. I have placed in other smaller races. It is kind of fun, but then, you start to compete and if the race doesn't go well it can be very disappointing. Today, the snow didn't start until after my run. Oh, well, I had a great run, even if I did run it too hard. 6m, 52:58, 8:43pace. Funniest thing happened... My doctor is one of the running group coaches. I've had this nasty cough and wanted to know how long I should let it go. We stopped at a water stop and got to talk with him there. At one point, he takes a step to the side and blows a snot rocket. Oh... now that's professional!!! Unless it improves, he wants to see me Monday. That's what I was thinking...
