You wouldn't be "backslidden" if you would just "reach through".

.....and I still don't know what a tther is. This thread just won't make any sense to me until I have that piece of the puzzle.

Kerr, you don't have a toilet paper holder because you put in central heat? I'm sure if I knew what a tther was, that line of reasoning would make perfect sense to me.

And for some reason, Mona, they don't want to tell us. We keep asking and asking and asking. Wonder why it's such a big secret.

It's probably a cult, or some type of secret society of which some of these people may be members. Maybe if we knew the secret handshake, they'd tell us the meaning.

Gary (the guy who substituted a rubber band for toilet paper) is in charge of demonstrating the handshake.

But not until he washes his hands!

OK this is the handshake.

If that's the official greeting, then that's a secret society I think I can be a part of!!! (....of which I can be a part? I think that's the proper grammer.)

Kerr, have you contacted your local historical society to see if your office could possibly be a stop on the town's official ghost tour?

Perhaps your office used to be occupied by an old barrister who was noted for his "gastric distress" and this is his way of communicating with you. Possibly that's his way of letting you know he wants you to switch to Northern, you think?

No--not legalistic, just a purist.

Sort of off topic, but do they still use those horrid sheets of waxed paper in elementary school rest rooms? I may be legalistic in thinking that whoever came up with *that* should be keel-hauled

They use paper so thin that it falls apart if you breathe on it. And it comes on those giant rolls like restaurants use, except that the spindle is rusty and won't turn easily. So you end up with tiny little pieces of flimsy paper.

I would rather have my haunted stuff.

I disagree.

Have you recently lost a pet cat? Certainly he or she has returned with a vengeance and is wreaking havoc on your bathroom to punish someone for a perceived mistreatment! Not enough catnip? Too few Kitty treats? A new dog in the family?

Check your phone book for a poltergeist specialist who might cleanse your house of this ghastly spirit before things get much worse. Next time you may find prized furniture or drapes shredded or even a wet spot on your bed.

Don't say I didn't warn you!

Thanks Diane, but this is at my office, where no cat has ever scratched. (I have four at home though, but no problems with TP there.)

OH! I must have missed it was your office. If it isn't a new building then maybe the previous owner had a cat, and Diane's post would still be appropo.

Why don't you mount the dispenser vertically?

Maybe it's not the ghost cat who is doing it, but Mr. Whipple himself! He always said, "Please, don't squeeze the Charmin!" So if you are squeezing the roll while peeling paper off of it, then surely he'll be there defending his precious "possession".

Have you ever tried to pull some paper off of a vertically mounted dispenser?

Pull, tear, pull, tear....one puny sheet at a time.
