I got the large baking stone last week and used it for the first time yesterday to bake rolls. Here's my question: the center rolls seemed underdone while the inner ones were borderline done/overdone. Is there a way to even out the baking? I'm worried that my pizza (from scratch, raw dough) will cook unevenly, too. I had let the rolls rise on the stone then baked them at 425 like the recipe stated.

I have several of the stones and i have never had trouble. I would wonder like someone else suggested about the oven. Were they cooked unevenly all the way through or was it the top or bottom?

Were the rolls all the same size? I was a rep in the past and have never heard this complaint. I would guess either the size was uneven or the oven thermostat is messing up. I love the stones though. My favorite product besides the stones is the cook ware though. VERY expensive but so very worth it. The finish is simply great. Nothing sticks.

I have the apple corer/slicer/ring thingy. My kids love to eat apples that look like slinkies!! Has anyone tried potatoes and what have you done with them?

we haven't had the money to get much, but I have been to many parties. All I have are the measuring cup where you can push the ingredients out (works great for honey), the oil pumper spray thing, and several cook books. I love them ALL!!!

I have one of the stones and I use it all the time. I just have to catch my husband before he tries to "wash" it...I dunno how many times I gotta tell him about just wiping it off. I got the apple slicer thingy as a gift and we used it for the first time over the weekend - worked out great.

I love pampered chef. My niece was selling it for a while. Her Mom bought one of the stones, my bil was trying to fix steaks a special way he learned in Italy, decided to use the new stone. Guess what they don't do well on grills. I don't think sis was too happy. She told him she didn't think it would work on the grill.

I have a PC pizza stone that I really like. Also, a whisk and a ribbed slicer thing that can also be used to cut pizza and hot sandwiches.

I love my stoneware. I have a LOT of PC stuff that i have collected over the last ten year. About your biscuits. I make a lot of biscuits and have never had any trouble; however, I do recall baking something that didn't bake evenly. we discovered that it happened sometimes when I added something else to the oven while it was in or had other stones left in the oven while baking. It kept the heat from getting through evenly to the stones.

I THINK my oven is heating evenly. It doesn't like to stay at temperature (when I set it for 385 - digital setting - it's around 400 on the separate oven thermometer; when I set it for 390-395, it jumps up to 425) I think that says alot right there. i'm not a expert, but i'm thinking that is not a good thing. one more thing, sometimes, when your cooking with stoneware, you need to leave it in there a little bit longer.

It's not that the temperature is unstable; it just doesn't read according to the setting on the outside of the oven. I'd think about getting a new one, but it's a built-in oven, not a standalone. Those things are PRICEY! I took the rolls out when the outer ones looked a bit overdone; I didn't want to leave it in any longer. A tidbit of fact I failed to report earlier which could very well have a bearing: the rolls were a bit crowded on the stone. I had to fit 17 rolls on the large baking stone, not leaving a lot of room for them to spread. So the inner ones were probably too insulated. quote:

Love, love, love PC. I don't have much money, but just buy one or two things each party I go to and now I have quite a bit of it. My mom and I usually combine an order since ours are so small and split shipping too. Tricia, that's really odd about your stone. Mine has never done anything like that. Probably a combination of your oven misbehaving and them being too crowded. I've got the pastry mat on order right now and can't wait to get it! I hope it gets here in time to do sugar cookies. It's one of those things I would not have thought useful until I saw it. My mom got one and it is HUGE! Perfect for making bread or rolled cookies on and not making the counter a disaster area. Also love...the peanut butter pooper, as my son calls it, the baker's roller, kitchen spritzer, and mini server. Lots of other things too! I booked a party off my sister's party. Stoneware will be on sale in January, so I picked a date then. I only have one stone and would like to get more. If I have enough sales, I think I'm going to get a cookware set as one of my half price items. Anyone have experience with this? Is it worth the $$$? Thankfully, it'll be at tax time, so it won't hurt our budget.

I got a sauce pan ten years ago and I still love it. It is my favorite for melting marshmallows or chocolate in because nothing sticks in it.

The executive cookware is so very much worth the money! you can burn cheese on it, and it won't stick. i also made(in the 12 inch skillit) scrambled eggs in it, and it was a dream! the eggs didn't stick to the bottom, and the were perfect! i also have made hamburger in it, the hamburgers didn't stick either(i accidently overcooked a couple!). some things to note with the cookware(the nonstick kind), it is handwash only- not that its a problem, because cleaning it is soooo very easy, and always use coated utensils, because if not it can mess it up. thats all i can think of

I've only got the 8" skillet, but nothing seems to stick to that. I LOVE it!

Cool, thanks! I don't have (or want) a dishwasher anyway, so that's not an issue. Now I'm debating between the 5 piece set (4 qt. covered casserole, 2 qt. covered saucepan, 10" saute pan) for $225...half price is $112.50 OR the 7 piece set (8 qt. covered stockpot, 3 qt covered saucepan, 1.5 qt. covered saucepan, 10" skillet) for $345...half price is $172.50 I know the 7 piece set is a better deal for our family of 6, but man, that extra $60 is painful. LOL But if it's going to last 10+ years, then that's not bad at all. We've never bought a full set of cookware. One was given to us when we were married in '99 and my mom bought us another set in '03 for Christmas. Neither were great sets, but they did the job. It just may be time for a good set.
