i've had a slow start so far, but i'm hoping to do my 3rd show this coming sunday (it was supposed to be last sunday, but we had to rescedule because of ice). its going to be a wedding shower, so i'm very excited

Maybe you could host a party in February too, and use tax money to buy it? If you get it 60% off, it's really not much more than a good set from Walmart or Target.

to host a party one has to know people to invite...and know someone who sells it. Since we no longer go to church (yet...can't find one again yet) we don't know anyone. Paul mostly works with single guys...and the few that are married would be part of the crowd that ignored me at the three FRG meetings I went to. Not one of them would even say hi...so no offense to them, but I don't really want to invite unfriendly people that I don't know into my house (which is another issue...I have enough to deal with right now without stressing about someone coming into my house...that would send me over the edge). Whatever we buy it will be with our tax refund money...but I just don't know what I want to buy.

I like to do "Jack and Jill" parties. do a BBQ party! Actually, just mention that there will be food. It is a lot of fun when guys are there.

You already know TWO people who sell it ... and we both post here!!!

And as far as having a party ... out of my first two shows, two were "cooking shows" hosted by my sister and me ... and two were technically book shows. (Although I worked with the hostesses and put it down as a cooking show.) Guess which ones did BETTER? The BOOK SHOWS!

All you really need to do is show the book to a couple of neighbors, friends and family and get $150 to $200 in sales. Direct out of town friends and family to the web site where they can see all the products there.

And if you DO know somebody local who sells it ... have her send something to work with DH with a note saying what they were baked on. Guys REALLY LOVE stoneware ... and there are a lot of guys who do most of the cooking in their houses.

I know a lot of consultants out there who really want to have as many shows as possible in February. I am asking people to set their shows for the last two weeks of the month because that will ensure that I get "help whip cancer" products to show in May. (In May they sell special pink products and a portion goes to fight cancer.) Since I am a Relay for Life captain, that cause is close to my heart.

If somebody holds a show the last week or two of February, there's a chance their tax refund could arrive by then.

We have gotten our tax return the first week or two of February the past couple years. We only have to wait for one W-2 and two student loan papers to file.

Paul's W-2 comes in online by the 31st of January, and we get in to file as soon as we can get an appointment at the tax center on base (free for military to use their services)...so we usually have ours by the middle of Feb. also

ladioffaith...I know you think everyone knows someone they can invite but we really don't. We just moved here back in may and don't know any people that would come. The guys hubby works with are either single soldiers that live in the barracks or they are not exactly family guys. The wives are snooty and snobby and don't like to talk to anyone outside of their clique. We homeschool so I don't know others from a kids school. We haven't found a church yet "(recently left the one we were going to because of their unfriendliness). Four houses around us are empty right now, another has an invalid elderly gentleman who never leaves the house, and the one across the street the police watch all the time because of drugs. We don't live anywhere near any family (military). So I really don't have anyone to invite to a party.

I'm just trying to clarify what I said ... not trying to be pushy ...

Anyway ... I was just trying to say that it is easier in some cases to ask somebody to order from a catalog than it is to invite them to your house. My catalog hostesses found that to be the case! My actual cooking shows had low attendance, so most of the orders were placed by people who didn't attend as well. Some live outside the area and were directed to the web site to find what they wanted. One of them was Tricia, an out-of-town friend who wanted to buy from me ... and fortunately, she was visiting family in the states so I could have her order shipped to her. (Found out PC does not ship to Canada if the order is placed by someone in the states.) Of course, my show had the lowest sales of all of them, so I am not one to talk!

that's true...IF you know people. But when you move as often as I do you don't really get to know too many people that stay in touch through the miles. I wasn't trying to say you were pushy, just pointing out why I can't have a party.

thats fine, i can understand that. what city are you in? do have people that you can send a email to?
I don't have a website yet, but maybe another Pampered Chef lady on here does, but you could also start a thing on here(maybe), and say hey i'm having a party, go to this website and order stuff! (you don't have to say it excatly like that, but you get the idea) the stuff can be sent to them, and you still get the credit.
it just a idea, you still a wonderful person, even if you don't have a party [:)]

I am just going to order some stuff through donna's party and pay the extra that they charge to have it sent here...plus then it's helping a friend with getting her party to be a higher amount!!!

So about the cookware....that's what I really really want, and hubby wants some stones. Cookware though....does anyone have it? Do you like it? Is it dishwasher safe? I know you can put it in the oven up to a certain temp, but has anyone does that and does it really hold up well? Is it REALLY non stick without teflon?

About the stones...If you were wanting to get two, which two would you get? Hubby wants to get the large pizza round stone and I was thinking of getting the one with sides too (a friend I know who has one raves about how great brownies turn out in that one). So what size would you get?

I don't have it yet, obviously, but my PC lady told me putting it through the dishwasher would void the lifetime warranty on it. She has it and says it really is so non-stick that it's super easy to wash in the sink anyway. I don't have a dishwasher so it isn't an issue for me.[:D]

If I didn't have any and I were to get two...I'd get a large bar pan and a rectangular pan. The only reason I like the round one is for pizza, but that is just as easily done on a rectangle stone, especially with a big family. I'd get the rectangular ones because those are easier for doing cookies on, and then you'd have two, so could do two sheets at once.

ETA...hey, you turned me blue! And I'm too lazy to fix it.[8D]

the excutive cookware is awesome! nothing sticks to it! i'v e,ade scrambled eggs and nothing is left to scrape later its sooo very cool! i highly recomend it. It is not dishwasher safe, but it is so easy to clean, you really won't need to put it in the dishwasher anyway. my recruiter has used hers in the oven many times, i just haven't yet
as far as the stone ware, i would get a round stone- i use mine for cookies, bisquits, and pizza) and the large bar pan(can be used for most anything). the small bar pan and small round stone fit in most microwaves and are perfect for warming up things like chicken nuggets.
thats all i can think of for the moment

for me the issue is that I don't usually do the dishes...Jake or Paul does them. Jake's chore, Paul helps. The dishwasher is their friend. Oh well...if we spend that much on them I am sure Paul will have no trouble changing the way he makes sure they are done.

so the rectangular one is like a regular size cookie sheet with small sides?

we don't have a microwave....lol. Actually we do, but hubby tried to plug it in when we lived over in Germany and now it won't work...keeps blowing fuses...we have to take it to get it looked at to see if we can salvage it. It's a great microwave to have...pretty fancy....and I miss it sometimes. Mostly when I am trying to do popcorn on the stove or trying to heat leftovers up in the oven.

The large bar pan has sides; the rectangular stone does not, but is a bit bigger. The one without sides is a bit more difficult to get out of the oven, so if you think that might be an issue, I'd go with two large bar pans. I think they're the most versatile.

ETA...one of the best uses I have found for my large bar pan is cooking bacon in the oven. No more splattering grease, no burning myself turning it, AND it seasons the stone perfectly.[:D] You wouldn't be able to do that on the one without edges.

oh ok. I will ask paul...he is so set on that pizza stone...not that our pizza's ever turn out round..lol We usually do individual pizzas and let everyone put together their own.

GULP! I've put my little frying pan in the dishwasher many times ... and never had a problem! Guess I'll have to stop!

The 8 inch skillet is the only piece of non-stick cookware I've ever liked ... it is great! One thing you have to remember is that while most teflon pans have one layer sprayed on like spray paint ... these have THREE LAYERS and they're BAKED ON!

The stainless cookware is NOT non-stick but you have to remember ... it is not meant to be. If you're like me and not used to cooking in teflon pans, then you know how to cook with them. I am rather irked that we don't have metal spoons, because that is what you need for stainless cookware. But I would NEVER fry in it! I'm rather irked that I can't just get a set of sauce pans ...

I have the large bar pan and it is AWESOME. If I get a second one, I'd like to get the round one with the handles, because it would come in handy for other dishes. They are the same price!

I'd also love to have the deep covered baker ...

Direct shipping isn't very expensive compared to show shipping, especially when you consider what you're getting for your money!

I love the pampered chef items I've gotten.

I have the mix n chop. It's great for browning ground meat and mixing meat loaf. I also heard from someone else that it's great for mixing cookie dough.

I have the food chopper. Fantastic.

I have the mix n scrape. It is my favorite spatula ever. I bought the small one but it is pretty big. I can't imagine how big the large one would be.

I have the bamboo spoon set. I haven't used them much yet.

I'm looking forward to getting some stoneware. I want the large bar stone and the round stone with formed handles. I am also interested in the loaf stones.

I forgot to mention one of my favorite pampered chef products - the scrapers!!! I use those little brown stonewear scrapers for counters, the table & other dishes along with my stonewear!! They're really GREAT!

I've been reading this thread but couldn't really think of anything to post about any of the stuff I have...which I like it all but nothing in particular stood out until I was just over in another thread reading about steaming vegetables and then I remembered my little microwave steamer I got from PC and I love that. I probably use that almost every day. I got a small one because it's just me and I love how I can just pour my portion of veggies in there and just a little dab of water and in a few minutes I have steamed veggies. Just perfect for me!

Laura - I have the bamboo spoons. I really like them - they don't warp and dry out like wooden ones do. I use them all the time.

I know I'll love them. They are new and I generally just grab my old wooden spoons still.
