Laura - I have the bamboo spoons. I really like them - they don't warp and dry out like wooden ones do. I use them all the time.

I know I'll love them. They are new and I generally just grab my old wooden spoons still.

I have some bamboo spoons that I got over in Germany and I love them. I can't stand the feel of wooden spoons....sends shivers down my spine to even think of touching one!!! But the bamboo ones are great...I use them for everything!!!

pumpkin -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/14/2007 2:12:17 PM)

hmmm... I LIKE wooden spoons, but David has an aversion to touching the "raw wood" as he calls them. I like it, I think they're great, and I miss having them. We can't have knives with wooden handles either. *shrug* I grew up with a Dad who did lots of woodworking, and have always been around raw/unfinished wood, and I like it. There's nothing quite like running your hand over a freshly sanded piece of wood that feels oh so smooth... and the smell of it is nice too. (ok, now that you all think I'm weird) Maybe bamboo would settle that between us... I would have my "wooden" sppons, and he wouldn't have to touch wood. =)

laura... -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/14/2007 2:22:22 PM)

The PC bamboo spoons definitely feel finished.

ta_mosquito -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/14/2007 2:22:54 PM)

If he objects, tell him they're not wood - they're grass. [8D]

pumpkin -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/14/2007 2:52:04 PM)

hahaha

**shivers** just reading your post!!!!
yeah their spoons are great....but honestly mine from the store that were much cheaper feel just the same as theirs. I even compared their thicknesses and it wasn't any different from my cheaper ones....so you could buy some cheap ones at the store and see if he likes them.

sholtsclaw698 -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/17/2007 11:08:41 AM)

the bamboo spoons are just awesome, and i highly recommend them.

ladioffaith -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/17/2007 1:45:14 PM)

My ex sis-in-law left some of the old style bamboo spoons. I still use them, but I'm not a big fan of them. I do like the ones they have now. I'd get them ... but it kind of seems like a waste since I already have some PC bamboo spoons ... but they are totally not the same.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. =)
I asked how he felt about bamboo, and he said he didn't know.

target or walmart (or other places with a good selection of kitchen stuff) have bamboo items...just have him look at and feel them....things like wok utensils, or chopsticks, or spoons...etc. They sometimes even have bamboo bowls.

pumpkin -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/17/2007 4:22:21 PM)

Oh, I love... make that adore... those wooden seeming salad bowls and such. I don't know if that is on topic for pampered chef, but oh how I would love to have a set of those!

believeinhim2 -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/18/2007 11:06:33 PM)

I absolutely love that little cookie spatula thingy.....lol. I have three of them. I use my pizza stone all the time and love it. I haven't been to a party in quite some time so i haven't seen any of the new stuff but i love the stuff i have seen and used.

ladioffaith -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/18/2007 11:15:41 PM)

You can view the whole catalog on line!

The nice thing about the products is they stand the test of time. That is why I sell them!! My previous product line was "trendy" and that is why I got discouraged with it. So I am pretty sure there's not a whole lot different about your stone and scraper. However, my stone does a whole lot more than just pizza! That is why I love the bar pan!

I have a knife that I purchased before they had lifetime warranty on their knives. The case design has changed too. But I still use it and display it at shows. At least people understand that the knife has a self-sharpening case and the difference between the knives and the "forged cutlery."

GVfan -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/19/2007 11:16:26 AM)

I've got a fair amount of PC product, but my very favorite item is the lid opener! I've had it for several years, but I'm still amazed how easy it is to get any kind of lid unscrewed with it!!!

ta_mosquito -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/19/2007 3:10:28 PM)

I agree on the can opener. I love it! And I love that it removes lids off of canned items (you know, jars [8D]) without damaging those lids, so I can reuse them more easily. The only thing I don't use the can opener for is tuna cans - I use my old fashioned one for that. I can't justify buying a "tuna strainer" when an old can opener works just fine and is free.

sholtsclaw698 -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/20/2007 12:59:51 PM)

I also like to put the cooling rack over the sink, so that way, wehen i put cookies on them all thier little crumbs fall into the sink, and the clean up is easy

sholtsclaw698 -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/20/2007 1:01:05 PM)

Wow, I never thought of that! Great idea! Thanks!

ladioffaith -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/20/2007 3:54:30 PM)

I agree. great idea! It also is a great space saver! And did you know that if you press it on a thing of pb cookies, it scores them all at once?

My new favorite item is the small scoop! It's so easy to pop in a tray of cookies now!

42servehymn -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/20/2007 5:03:34 PM)

I always make my cookies with a scoop and it is amazing how people are impressed with how uniform and symmetrical they are. I always get people telling me they look like professionally made cookies.

ta_mosquito -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/20/2007 6:27:54 PM)

I had a scoop (not PC) but the little wire cleaner-outer got out of sync and basically the thing is broken. So much for that. [;)]

ladioffaith -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/20/2007 8:37:25 PM)

Not to overly plug our products, but that is exactly why I bought PC!! I saw a scoop in another book and it was plastic. This one is guaranteed for a year and it's metal. It just looked a whole lot more solid. Now the other vendor is out of business!

ta_mosquito -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (12/21/2007 2:43:21 PM)

I'm so excited! I went to a kitchen store and bought a set of bamboo spoons - well, it has a slotted and regular spoon, a stirring spoon with a hole in it, a slotted turner, a solid turner, and a salad fork. Cool! It was $9.99, but when I got to the checkout, it rang up as $6.99. Yay!

OK, so this isn't really about Pampered Chef, except that I grew to like bamboo spoons through them. [;)]

ta_mosquito -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (1/5/2008 6:34:58 PM)

I made homemade pizza on the pizza stone again. This time I let the oven be sure to heat up, and I rotated the stone 180 degrees halfway through baking. It turned out wonderfully! So I'm all happy again. [:D]

Kath -> RE: Let's Talk Pampered Chef! (1/5/2008 8:02:54 PM)

That's great!
