I tried the pizza in my oven again too ... put enough sauce on it, didn't pre-heat and took it out at the minimum time. It was GREAT!

ORIGINAL: ta_mosquito I'm so excited! I went to a kitchen store and bought a set of bamboo spoons - well, it has a slotted and regular spoon, a stirring spoon with a hole in it, a slotted turner, a solid turner, and a salad fork. Cool! It was $9.99, but when I got to the checkout, it rang up as $6.99. Yay! OK, so this isn't really about Pampered Chef, except that I grew to like bamboo spoons through them. YAY!!! How are you liking them? How does Kevin like them?

Kevin doesn't touch the cooking spoons, so he doesn't care, LOL! I haven't used them yet!

Love, love, love PC. I don't have much money, but just buy one or two things each party I go to and now I have quite a bit of it. My mom and I usually combine an order since ours are so small and split shipping too. Donna, If you love it so much why don't you sign up as a consultant and wholesale to yourself and your friends and family. I did that with my business. (Not pampered chef) and not only do I get my discount, I do have enough people who order that I make my goals to stay active, and around the holidays when I need extra money, instead of getting a job, I do vendor fairs. Those have worked out so well for me and I get the product that I want with some extra perks.

I used to buy pampered chef all the time, but now I get the same things at the resturaunt supply stores for much cheaper. But I do love pampered chef. Just too expensive and they used to have a lifetime warranty and now it is like a one year or something like that.

The discount for the products is not that great. You can get the same size discount just by having a party. The kit is pretty sweet, however. They have a lifetime guarantee on a lot of products. Just not everything. Some oare 1 year, some are 5 years, some are 3 and some are lifetime. Not many of us would take a broken spoon back to a kitchen store and demand a replacement after 6 months of use! (Although I did that with my WAY pricey shoes when they wore out a year before they were supposed to!)

Reminds me of when I sold Tupperware ...ahem.... almost 40 years ago... They had a lifetime warranty and you wouldn't believe some of the very well used stuff that was years old and people would return for replacement. And, of course, it WAS replaced - or comparably replaced. But, I don't mean to talk T'ware. This is, after all, a PC thread! I browsed through parts of this thread and don't see the garlic press (or whatever they call it) mentioned. IMO after many years of cooking with garlic this is the all time BEST gadget for garlic I have ever used! My Japanese friend also used it for fresh ginger. Pretty cool idea I would never have thought of.

I LOVE my garlic press! Thanks for letting me know it can be used for ginger too! I am doing some SERIOUS stoneware shopping. I just got off the phone with a friend who also wants to do a book party. I talked her into doing it this month instead of next because I'm trying to put a show together too before my 90th day (Feb. 4) and neither of us are sure we'll make the show minimum. We're going to aim for $150 each because when you combine them, you get more free product than just two $150 shows ... and plus we'll get a half price item. I told her I'd claim that one ... because the Deep Covered Baker is 20 percent off ... and half off the sale price is only $26! Daring to dream! Been off these forums all day trying to work the business. My director challenges us to do the 3-2-1 thing (three calls a day leads to two shows a week and 1 recruit a month.) She just came back from a leader's conference where they all sang the praises of this program. Well, I had 11 contacts through e-mail and personal contact (only counting the ones who responded in some way) and a very large percentage of people are helping me in some way! And that doesn't count the 50 people who filled out slips at my bridal fair! Sorry ... just had to brag!

I did the lower-budget bridal fair. My recruiter found one that was only $450 for TWO DAYS. So she and another girl worked the booth on Saturday, she and I did it on Sunday. Our director gets $50 a month to do fairs and shows ... so she kicked that in. My share was only $100. I had 50 people enter my drawing. She has 4 names she's going to exchange for 4 of mine (some of whom live out of state.) Two of hers are very close to my house and the others are about an hour away, which is closer than the Pennsylvania contacts. Of course, if half or fewer do a bridal registry, it really doesn't matter how far away they live. (It doesn't really matter how far away they are anyway ... as you know!)

LOL....yeah the money is tax return...comes in handy that one time a year. We haven't really ever had great pots and pans, so it's a splurge, but well worth it!!!

I'm quite disappointed with all of the products that are being discontinued as of the Spring catalogue ... all I really don't like some of the 'restyled' products (I think the restyled cranberry scrapers leave a lot to be desired), but that is JMO ... I signed up as a consultant in July and I STILL haven't submitted my 4th show to officially qualify as a rep. Everyone keeps cancelling :( And I'm in Canada, where a qualifying show is $200 instead of $150 ... Oh well ... it gives me even more time to spend with my precious gifts from God (even if they are resistant to sleep tonight!!!)

But those are Canadian dollars ... aren't they smaller? Seriously, I feel your pain, Karaboo ... not heartbroken about the items being retired since I don't have them ... but I think the new scrapers are ... kinda an aquired taste. I'm not too kicked in the head with Sea Green either ... But then I look to my former product ... which retired items every 6 months! Have you thought about having your friends do BOOK parties? That has been the bulk of my business, and some of them have done better than live shows! Also .. have your own show. That way you can get all your family and friends to support your business! E-mail me at mail to di at yahoo dot com and I'll send you some ideas I've found. I'm a great idea stealer, not a great idea implementer!

PL, I'm glad you're expanding your kitchen! I am getting the fluted stone ... I decided I needed one I could nuke! Also the Deep Covered Baker is going to prayerfully be something I can get with my next order. I wish I could afford the pots and pans as mine are in sad need of replacement ... but alas, my entire tax return is getting me a car! This month is my 4th, which means I can get stuff at 40 percent off ... too bad I can't afford it! Oh well ... maybe in April, when everybody can get stuff!

I was a consultant from 99 to 00 and got several items as samples. I got both of the pro cookware when it came out. I still have it. I used the warranty to replace the saute pan and the large covered skillet, at different times. The skillet was a year ago and the saute pan was 3 years ago. I think the set came out in 2000. I still have my oldest stone. Got my 13 inch in 1995. I love all my stones. I use some more than others. I have the gingerbread set never used in the box. I bought it to use it but I never did. One of my favorite non stone products is the bread tubes. I have all of them. I love to use those. And i still have the knives that have their own sharpener cases. We take those on trips or camping. My favorite stone is the deep dish baker. But my darkest stone is my rectangle stone, its mahogany colored.

I have too much PC to list. Cookware, knives, an entire cupboard dedicated to stoneware which includes 3 pizza stones, rectangle baker and lid (my favorite piece), fluted "bundt" pan, and more, the apple/corer/peeler/slicer, the cookie press, the decorator thingy for frosting and stuff, hot pads, batter bowls, scrapers (which I use for everything), whisks, garnisher, spreader, sandwich press, two food choppers, measure all... I loved it so much that I became a consultant. Right now I'm kind of on hiatus while I wait for baby #3 to come. My hubby travels a lot so it got too hard to coordinate shows with when hubby would be home to watch the kids. I still love it though and I'm sad that I'm not earning free things anymore.

Ellie, how exciting for your mom AND you! Does she get the forged cutlery? Have your show by the end of February ... she'll get the extra benefits from qualifying early and you'll get two items at 60 percent off! Woo-hoo!

Yes, I need another flat bamboo spoon, and a brush thingy... it is rubbery instead of like a regular brush.
