quote:
Actually, non-believers don't have to hate God. How could you hate somthing that "is'nt real" as an athiest would say? Do you know what it is to hate God?It is to hate his ways and love your ways.Love sin and hate holiness and that is something all unbelievers have in common. SD456 quote:
I still tend to think that God would rather we hate him than not believe in Him at all. You can't 'not' believe in someone that you hate. So people who hate Him are actually believing that He exists. Ugh..So people get brownie points for believing that he exists?Where i nthe bible does God say.. "Hey you do not love me by keeping my commandments but hey even though you are going to hell, atleast you believed I exist!Thank you!" For one to not believe in God is the same as one to hate him.God has given every person a knowledge and his word to know that there is a God,only in their wickedness can they reject the clear fact that God exist. They deny the existence of God because they hate him, whether they are aware of it or not. quote:
Saul of Tarsus hated Jesus and then became one of his most passionate followers. I think the level of hate that he had equaled the level of love that he had for Christ after he believed. Do you seriously believe what you right? His hatred translated to his love?Where does it say that in the bible? Will people say just about anything to steal the glory of God in salvation?!?He loved Christ not because his hatred for him was translated to love after salvation but he loved Christ because shed his blood for him. That may be shocking for North American "christianity" but that is actually what happens when a person is saved. They start to love God passionately when they hated him pasionately pior to salvation. quote:
Hatred in one sense simply means that's a very passionate person that we are dealing with and God isn't at all afraid of that kind of passion. He's able to turn it around and make them the greates Jesus lover ever. You just seem to amaze me SD.Hatred of God simply means that he is passionately wicked. And no one said God was afraid of that person,in fact he is angry at him(psalms 7:11).BTW,nobody "turns" their hatred around into a "great jesus lover".They simply get saved by the grace of God and in that mercy of God they start to love God. quote:
I've found it much easier to witness to someone who's angry at God and feels hatred toward Him than someone who's an athiest and has no thought for him at all. And that is the problem right there. You feel that you can save man.Maybe I am not as good of a preacher as you but there is no way a wretched man like myself can find it "easier" to witness to a person. It is just as hard with a lost church attendee of 30 years and an athiest. It will always be hard to preach, but thank God y job is to study the truth and live by the truth, salvation is of the Lord as Jonah says. So again, the sinner that does not believe in God and the sinner who hates God are both in the same position.God sees them the same way,a lost people who will meet his wrath.God rather people acknowledge him as God by the way they live their lives and that is all, other than that, all are in the same boat.
