SGEnthusiast -> RE: What is your range? (12/9/2007 8:28:39 PM)

Hey Daniel, any idea on my range? It's been hard not to go hit notes on the piano and figure it out but I haven't been brave enough since my family would have been really curious to know what I was doing (and I didn't want to start all the neighbor dogs howling!). [:)]

musicnerd -> RE: What is your range? (12/9/2007 9:38:03 PM)

Usually G6 to to C4. On a perfect day with proper planetary alignment, I can clear the C7. Haven't practiced much above middle C. I'm the only one in our church who can remotely sing bass. I have been trying to encourange my 8-year old to accept his range, which he thinks sounds too girly...

Kerrlaw -> RE: What is your range? (12/9/2007 11:52:03 PM)

When we were installing my Kenmore, they dropped it on my big toe. I hit a G 10, easy.

armydude -> RE: What is your range? (12/9/2007 11:53:14 PM)

Now, now. Just because you broke the glass...

Kerrlaw -> RE: What is your range? (12/9/2007 11:55:42 PM)

I think I broke the bottle in the deliveryman's jacket.[sm=cooltilt.gif]

L5MAN -> RE: What is your range? (12/10/2007 9:20:42 AM)

A flat below the staff to an E above the staff...I'm talkin' about the bass staff here.[;)]

I would guess you have a comfortable range of G3 to E5, and could probably go up to G5 without too much difficulty. I'd be happy to check sometime, perhaps if we're at a church for a conference early enough that pretty much nobody else is there.[8D][:D]

armydude -> RE: What is your range? (12/10/2007 10:34:40 AM)

I would actually be interested in knowing what my range is, but to be honest, I have no clue. I know it's from baritone to a high bass... But to know the actual notes... no clue.

smithtim -> RE: What is your range? (12/10/2007 1:31:31 PM)

Everyday useful range Dflat2 to Bflat4. Doing my vocal exercises to get that last step up to C3 and that last half step down to C2

LOL! I actually can sing a bass that kinda sorta don't stink too bad. But that was too much to write.[:D]

lowRevelator -> RE: What is your range? (12/11/2007 8:29:00 AM)

I honestly don't know what my range is, I just sing what's required to make the blend better.

MTTROCKS -> RE: What is your range? (12/11/2007 10:41:12 AM)

Well I sing around E3 to G5 all the time. My highest note was I have ever sung is a D6.

That's me. I have never checked to see exactly what my range was. I know I can hit bass notes and sing in the lead range but to put a key on it I can't.

lordpraiser -> RE: What is your range? (12/11/2007 10:44:52 AM)

Me too in any key. I can also be sharp from time to time.

Wow!

I knew you did the double high Cs, but I hadn't heard about the D.[:)]

That reminds me of something Mark Lowry said on the Gaither video from Atlanta. "Put him in G, Anthony. He'll flat it himself."

So was that originally a Mark Lowry line? Roy Webb would use it every night, and various Gaither band members are still using it.[:)]
I know this has already been answered, but I'm just getting back.[:D] It's not the first time it was used, but it's the first time I heard it.

Interesting--thanks!

Probably not the first time this was used, but I have it on an Imperials live album from the 70s and Jim Murray says that when he's "tuning" the cowbell for "Sail On."

BTW normal day range - G2 to D4
Early morning - as low as C2
Great vocal day - Eb4 (no falsetto, I'm talking blowin' and goin') Doesn't happen very often.

Kingsmen-fan -> RE: What is your range? (12/15/2007 2:04:29 AM)

I have always loved trying to sing high and low, but never knew what range I had. Until I got this computer program, now I just sing and watch the screen[:D] it is really fun[;)]

My range is down to A1 and up to C6, but I have to work hard to get That high. Singing low is easier for me, but tenor is my favorite to sing.

Jess77 -> RE: What is your range? (4/25/2008 7:40:40 PM)

Well, if anyone knows Dean Hopper's range... I can usually sing comfortable right along with him. If I switch into a head voice, I can sing with Kim for most of her songs. I also like to see how low I can go. [;)] But anyway... I doubt I am singing correctly since Mom always tells me I am singing an octave too high (sounds fine to me) and everyone else pretends to hang themselves when I start to sing. "Oh no... she's singing again!" [&o][:)]
