So what was the point of intermingling Jin's purchase of the panda for the baby? The panda was for a Chinese ambassador, not Sun. The baby he bought it for was a boy, and he specifically called the man in the hospital "Ambassador". He also said it was a representation of how much his boss wanted to do business with China. So yeah, it was probably just a red herring to confuse us. OK. I will go back and look at the tape again. I haven't erased it yet.

Or watched the "enhanced" version Thursday night before the new episode. They show the week's previous episode with little clues at the bottom all through. Remember they confused us, too, the previous week with Juliet's story -- at first the story made it seem like it was a flash forward. She was talking about being uncomfortable with the celebrity (and we knew from previous episodes that the "Oceanic Six" were considered celebrities) and other things that made it sound like she was one of the six and adjusting to life back in the US. But then fairly quickly they let us know she had just arrived on the island and this was a flashback rather than a flash forward. So, the writers aren't above trying to throw us. The ruse with Jin just lasted through the whole show.

There was nothing confusing at the outset of Juliet's flashback. Not to me. If Jin's was a flashback, it was a deliberate sleight of hand by the writers. Sun's birth being intermingled with Jin's purchase of a panda for someone else's child. I can see how omitting certain facts might allow us to draw a wrong conclusion. But the deliberate insertion of non-relevant events is simply bad writing, IMHO.

According to the latest teasers someone's gonna die tonight. Any guesses who it will be? I'm thinking Claire.

(I suppose they died, although it's possible they'll survive.) I never saw that coming. She seemed so tough and indestructible. Interesting that her downfall came when she softened up (by telling her daughter she loved her and being concerned for her) after all those years of defensiveness.

I'm not so sure Danielle's dead. Alex never checked to see, and she seems to be one of the "indestructible" ones. I was more surprised that Sayid turned Michael in to the ship's captain. Something tells me he just hosed the people still on the island somehow.

Well good grief, after all that build-up it was just Carl and Frenchie who died? I mean yeah, I feel bad for Alex, but I was so sure they were gonna kill off a main character. Oh well, at least Jin and Claire are safe for another week. . .or actually another month! I just really hope I don't go into labor on April 24th 'cause I can just see it now: My hubby: "Come on, you're in labor, you need to go to the hospital" Me: Noooooo! Leave me alone! I'm not going anywhere till Lost is over!" I was excited to see Libby again, even if it was just for 2 seconds, and it was nice to see Mr. Friendly alive too, even if is ummm. . .well. . .totally gay! I really don't know who to believe now. Is the evil mastermind Mr. Widmore or Ben? I'm still pretty sure it's Ben. Or maybe both somehow.

I tivod through the commercials. You're right, I'm not sure if Danielle is dead, obviously they were set up by Ben. I agree with Bill, something major happens which is why they have to pretend that Walt and Michael are dead when they get off the island.

Waaah!! About ten minutes into the show the sound messed up. The local station ran a blurb along the bottom saying they were having problems and working on it. I think I got most of what was going on -- I could just barely hear some of the dialog through static when I turned it up all the way.

It seems to me that there is a major conflict between the remaining Dharma Initiative and Widmore's company. We now have two giant egos (Ben and Widmore) battling over the "future" of the island.

Mr. Friendly was still alive because that was actually a flashback. It looks like Michael was recruited for the freighter crew a few weeks ago and since then Mr. Friendly returned to the island and got blown to bits by the Losties. quote:
So how is Ben receiving & sending messages to the Temple people ? Well that mean therapist lady seemed to be running messages for him two episodes ago. Maybe she still is.

I don't know what I'm gonna do ... I'll be going through Lost withdrawals! Hopefully they'll show reruns so I can catch the nuances I missed earlier. I was excited to see Libby too, and the gay scene was MOST unexpected! An interesting twist! quote:
You're right, I'm not sure if Danielle is dead, obviously they were set up by Ben. I'm kind of slow ... that didn't occur to me when I was watching the show last night, but that totally makes sense now. He didn't like boyfriend or real parent, so he got rid of them both in one fell swoop.

We now have two giant egos (Ben and Widmore) battling over the "future" of the island. The Dharma Initiative people were all gassed by Ben. The people with him are the original inhabitants of the island whom the Dharma folks called "hostiles." I think Danielle, Alex, and her boyfriend were totally set up by Ben so that the two could be shot, freeing Alex to be "his." If he was obsessive about Juliet being his, I think he must be equally obsessive about Alex being his "daughter." What I don't know is why Danielle kept letting him say that Alex was his daughter without challenging him. My local station that had the sound trouble last night is reshowing the episode this afternoon. Hurray!

Guess she got tired of bruising her knuckles. So that was Libby that Michael saw in the hospital and again in the engine room. It went by too fast for me to be sure.

I'm beginning to believe that the guy in the casket in the funeral home is Michael. With no one showing up, I'm assuming that his family did not know he's dead since he's name now Kevin Johnson. Jack being in tears, Michael was able to do what he's suppose to do and the reason why Jack and the gang were able to live.
