Chris Tomlin - How can I keep from singing? (I can't)
Leeland - Tears of the Saints (Deeply convicting)
Jeremy Camp - Tonight (Can't put off God, gotta do His will when He calls right then no matter what we're in the middle of)

Agree with BHL on "Tonight" by Jeremy Camp...that song's hot!!!
"Lose My Soul" and "Boomin'" - Tobymac
"Only The World", "God Speaking", "Love Somebody"...okay the whole album by Mandisa.
"Tatoo" - Jordin Sparks
"Wait For You"- Eliot Yamin
"Shut Me Out" - Kutless

The song reminds me that we are Christ's hands and feet on this earth and that as Christians we are called to ACTION. We must DO SOMETHING, not just sit back and complain.

The lyrics are good, but what one has to remember that the Body is large and not everyone is called to the same thing. Some are called to feed the hungry, others are called to provide the food; some are called to stop the murder of innocents, others are called to nuture the hungry spirits of troubled mother's-to-be; some are called to shelter the homeless, others are called to provide jobs.

Casting Crowns "If we are the body" preaches a similar message, but the difference is that they don't use faith and deeds to promote any agenda other than Christ crucified and all that goes with it.

What agenda do you think she is promoting with this song? I see her song telling us to do what we can to show Christ's love and let them see Him through how we are living. Do those things which God has equiped you to do and show others Christ in those actions. Not everyone has to do the same thing..just do SOMETHING.

Her music as a standalone isn't promoting any agenda per se; It's the ministry, which her music is part of, that has the agenda.

Mom2T -> RE: Your favorite songs of 2007? (1/24/2008 4:41:30 PM)

Ok..so you have been to one of her concerts and don't agree with her? That is fine. We do not all have to agree.

If you have not been to one of her concerts, please don't assume you know about her ministry. You have not heard her message (which is of God's love and forgiveness, not hate and judgement). And God is the only judge we must as Christians answer to.

Her ministry's agenda, if you feel it must identify one, is to bring people that many churches don't consider important or worthy of consideration into a relationship with Christ. I personally don't think that is a bad thing.

You are correct in that God is the only judge. His forgiveness comes with repentance. At what point in life is there repentance, I believe it can happen at any time, even at the last heartbeat. He can even show mercy to those who "know not what they do."

But as a Christian, I can't look away nor can I nod my head in agreement because someone brings people into a church without demanding repentance. That is what I call Jesus-lite. Tastes great and less filling.

BHL...this has gotten off topic for the thread so this will be my last post on this subject. If you want to continue the discussion you can pm me.

Your last post seems to indicate that you do not have first hand knowledge of her concerts nor her ministry's message. I am not sure what she would think of my post of the goals of her ministry. Maybe I should ask her.

Christ stood at the door and knocked...He was waiting for it to be opened for the relationship to start. He did not wait for repentence to meet with people. He associated with those others would have nothing to do with. God is waiting...what is the problem if her music and ministry is the one thing that can start that conversation with God for someone?

It is so hard to pick songs, there were so many awesome Albums that came out. I liked Demon Hunter- Storm the Gates of Hell, Thousand Foot Krutch- Flame in All of Us, David Crowder- Remedy, 33Miles, MxPx- Secret Weapon, and I think one of the most underated and fantastic albums to come out was by a new group called Ruth- Second Hand Dreaming. It is full of a ton of good songs with great messeges. Anyways if I was to choose a song though I would choosed Falls Apart-TFK, There is a God- 33Miles, or Lead Us Home- Demon Hunter.

Here's my Top 10 for 2007

1. Let God Arise - Chris Tomlin
2. What this World Needs - Casting Crowns
3. Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) - Chris Tomlin
4. Glory in the Highest - Chris Tomlin
5. East from West - Casting Crowns
6. The Altar and the Door - Casting Crowns
7. Tears of the Saints - Leeland
8. Yes you have - Leeland
9. You Carried Me - Building 429
10. God With Us - MercyMe

Best Concert by far was by Casting Crowns, Leeland and John Waller on the 'Altar and the Door' tour! I know their lead guitarist, who goes to my church, so I'm a little biased! But, truly, the spirit is definitely alive and fills the concert hall at their event. [:)]- tonewalker
