Wow ....... I am going to put this right on out there. I've been following along on certain threads, and notice that there are certain people who slam dunk everything - and I do mean everything - that everyone else has to say.

Let's hear your opinions on those who post and just have to have The. Last. Word. No. Matter. What.

In case anyone is wondering what my opinion is, I'm sure you can all imagine
....... then I'll add a little something to the pot!

Hey Sam,
Haven't been in to here for a while -- been busy.

Interesting that you should bring this question up now... especially since I just had a conversation like that w/ my dd ----- may I scream now?

Real conversations or forum posting --- it's frustrating, isn't it?

Nah... I don't like it.

But I will look to the bright side... maybe the Lord is sharpening me for something??? Arg! I wish He'd tell me what it is...

LOLOL

Early morning laughs make me smile big time!!!

Moi? Start a controversy?

Moi?

Really!!

yes

Ed, I see you have been subjected to some of what I'm talking about.

You think you're in a pretty safe thread, and WHAMMO! Ah! Don't let them chase you away though. Sometimes it's fun to have a lively debate, yes? It's when the same thing is repeated over and over and over, then they bold it - just to make sure you can read it. LOL It's not that we can't read it, it's that we don't agree with it.

Yeah, sometimes it has to be taken out of the public eye.......

Sometimes it's frustrating. Sometimes I find it amusing. Sometimes I roll my eyes.

And, yes, it happens IRL too. That's when we get to do the eyebrow raising and really innocent confused faces.

I will have more to add on this subject later.......

Hiya tlims! Haven't seen you around much lately, but then again I haven't been around so much lately either. So perhaps it's some hit-and-miss going on.

Yes, you may scream now. Sometimes I need to get that frustration out while driving down the road. Being inside the car seems to be a fairly safe (and isolated) place to do that. Just not at a red light and other people can see me, kwim?

I wish He'd tell me what it is...

Wow, I hear ya on that!! Father, can you show me the whole Big Picture? That would make things so much easier. But we have to keep walking by faith, knowing that he will light the way one step at a time. Sometimes, we have to reach our foot out and He doesn't light the path until right as we're setting it down on that next step. We need some serious faith then! Good thing I trust Him!!

Hiya Darcy!

Yes!! Our weather has been absolutely gorgeous. Mid-80's gorgeous. It's suppose to hit 90 on Saturday.

It's okay, really, I'm okay until it hits 105, that's my melting temperature.

I'm trying to take advantage of the temps now, because I know in a couple more months it'll be time to head up north for our hikes and bike rides. You spend a lot of time at the gym ....... did you know that riding a bike IRL is a whole lot different than riding the one at the gym? Wouch! Especially into a strong wind. My legs (and hiney, those seats aren't the most comfortable are they?) had a comment for me after I was done. They told me they didn't appreciate what I did to them. Can you imagine that? They will NOT win this conversation. I. Will. Have. The. Last. Word.

LOLOL

Hey Sam, don't you know bolding means it's true and you better know it's true young lady? And if you can bold it AND PUT IT IN CAPS, AND REPEAT IT , it can not be questioned- it almost becomes part of the gospel???

Actually, I do like getting the last word... I mean after all, if I don't, someone else might and if they disagree with me.... well that just can't happen!!

LOL, and sometimes it gets the whole treatment... color, bold, caps and repeated. Then you know they're serious.

YES, THIS WILL GET THE MESSAGE ACROSS MUCH BETTER

If I keep laughing like this, my stomach muscles will get plenty o' workout and I won't have to do those evil sit ups later!!

Wow, there are times when I just want the last word too, but there's too much going on (such as work, or the munchkin, or - I don't know - LIFE), and I just can't sit at the computer waiting to pounce and repeat myself again with the hope that the other person might *get* it this time. But it sure is fun when we can, isn't it?

We must all remember that everyone comes from a different place in life, and our perspectives are going to vary. Just because I feel a certain way doesn't mean I'm right. Nor does it mean I'm wrong. It just means I have a different outlook. Sometimes I get frustrated with certain posters, and sometimes I just shake my head and think to myself "Take the blinders off!!"

Yeah, sometimes the old saying "a mind like a steel trap... rusted shut" comes to mind. I look at the forums, for the most part, as a place to explore ideas- both my own and others. Sometimes someone makes a comment on a scripture that I had never looked at from that prespective! It can be really cool. Sometimes others have more of a problem doing that though .

Amen!

I recently had an email conversation with a close friend who was slamming a pastor - imo mostly because his methods didn't line up with the teacher of their particular church. Claiming this pastor to be a *false prophet* and part of the *new age* religion. It really angered me, to be honest. I've attended his church, and I've read his book, and I've done the Bible study he put together - when I was a bitty little baby Christian. I wonder if I would be where I am now in my relationship with Christ if I hadn't received that particular instruction. It came to me and spoke to me in a way that made sense to me. And it guided me to the Bible through every step.

I pointed out that many people have come to Christ as a result of that pastor's teaching. I also pointed out that just because the pastor was teaching from a different perspective didn't make him wrong - and in fact, that type of thinking and judgmental attitude is part of the reason a lot of people are afraid to go to church. While the seeker church isn't for everyone, it sure has planted a lot of seeds and has brought a lot of people to Christ. Having been to two different mega *seeker* churches, and also having outgrown them and moved along, I know a couple of these pastors and know that their number one goal in life is to bring others to Christ. I also stated that I think the teaching that was done in the early church was more than likely quite different than the teaching done in churches today - whether they are seeker churches or ultra conservative churches. The key is to reach people where they are and guide them to the narrow path. That's what Jesus did - He went from town to town, teaching people in a way that made sense to them. How cool is that?

Wow, that was a rambling way to say that there are a lot of paths that lead to Christ.

So, yeah, I get frustrated when someone comes along and slams another person (whether in the forums or IRL) just because they see things from another perspective.

I'll let you have the last word. I promise I won't quote you and slam you and hover over my keyboard to pounce on you the second you say something.

Really

It's fun to have some diversion, huh?

Man, I have a desk full of files with emails and stickies all over them. I suppose I should get to them.

(but don't worry, I'll be back to hassle you later ....... )

mwahahahaha

I understand Sam. I usually think that there are very few preachers or teachers that you can not learn some things from. And probably not one that you can learn everything from! In these forums I have seen Joyce Meyer, Creflow Dollar, _______ (fill in the blank with any "tv evangelist"), Swindoll, Stanley or whoever just lambasted, now do I agree with everything they teach? Not on your life. Have I learned a couple things from a book or a sermon or a show I have caught? Yep, you betcha! We need to listen, think about it with an open mind, check the bible for confirmation or deception, but if we just close our minds and our ears we will not learn, imo.

Have you seen Bridge to Terabithia? Leslie opens her little purse and fills it with rays of sunshine coming through the stained glass windows at church.

Thank you very much. I am glad that somebody has spring.

NO I have not seen the movie. I have gotten out of the habit of watching movies.

Ah! Nice to know I'm not the only (almost) non-movie watching person around. I only occasionally watch something - and it's generally munchkin rated.

I prefer fast acting movies that require paying close attention to follow along. And martial arts movies. Yeah, that's right, I have been known to enjoy a Jean Claude Van Damme movie or two, but definitely for the acting talent - or the blood and gore. I was a huge fan of the show Kung Fu as a little girl. Do you remember that show? But, really, my favorite all-time martial arts movie? Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon! It's an awesome movie!!!

I like comedies or human interest movies. The last movie I saw was at the RV park in Texas when I was on vacation. It was called Sideways. It was about two guys on vacation in California wine country before one guy got married. It was a critically acclaimed movie, I thought it was so-so, plot wise. It had a lot of profanity in it, however.

Lots of profanity in movies

Sometimes a little fits in the movie, but I find that it's too often added for the shock value. Same with the risque scenes.

I guess a lot of people talk that way.

The problem that I have with movies is my unwillingness to suspend my disbelief at unbelievable plot twists.
