Very sudden change in weather. Beautiful weekend, sunny, slight breeze temps in the mid to high 20's °C. Saturday night there was a thunderstorm. This morning (monday) there are strong winds, heavy rain and even hail in places. Such a tempermental mother nature.

Hiya Amy!

The Houston/Galvaston area of Texas got hit hard by the Hurricane Ike. A lot of people are without power right now!

Up here in the Northeast, the weather isn't too bad. It rained today but that was about it.

Cooler around my area again. We had a week-end of rain, rain, rain. All week-end. Guess yesterdays rain was from Hurricane Ike. (them poor folks in Texas reall got hit)

50 degrees right now with the sun trying to peak through.

Yeah Mike, the fireplace is awsome.
Also on cool nights, while sitting on our deck, hubby starts the outdoor firepit we have.

Had some high winds and lots of rain around here this weekend too! We needed it so bad I don't think anyone is complaining - except for maybe those on the north side of my county that got hit a bit harder with the winds and lost a few trees and were without power and some I guess are still without power. We just lost a minor limb out of one tree and a plethora of little sticks and twigs. More wood for the fire pit!!

After this rain I just might have to mow my lawn again! Haven't touched it in a month!

Blessings,

Garsy

Yeah, that's been on the news a bit here. I'm glad I live in Australia, no freak storms and hurricanes like you get.

You have never lived until you spend 4 hours holed up in some corner of the basement waiting for the all-clear from a tornado warning.

Happened at least once every spring growing up, sometimes 4 or 5 times.

I was less that 30 miles from where this pic was snapped back on Palm Sunday April 1965:

For those in northern Indiana, it is US 30 near Elkhart.

Hey I know where that is!!! Haven't been up that way in years tho!

And I agree! But then you also have to add to that the clean up AFTER one of those things go through!

Blessings,

Garsy

Oh my Dave! Also, welcome to the weather thread! Its good to have you here!

Hiya Barb, Garsy and Amy!

Hey, I was wondering, does Dee still come here much? I wonder how she is doing?

Been rather cooler here the past couple of days, Autumn has arrived. The furnace even kicked on last night, but it was my landlord using the heat and not me though.

It's been pretty nice here too, 60's at night and mid 80's during the day, but I heard on the weather tonight that it's supposed to warm up more this week. And I was enjoying it sooooo much.

Hi Beckey, glad that you are having good weather. I tend to be cold in general, and I just turned on the heat here a few minutes ago.

It was a tad warm around here today, but nothing major and a great day to be outside! Could have been a tad more breezy and it would have been perfect!

Blessings,

Garsy
