ORIGINAL: crankius Hi Shar-Mar! I checked out your listings. I agree with Christsstar. Looks great! quote:
ORIGINAL: bride48 Wow, Sharon Marie...you've really put work into your auctions! I'm impressed! Thank you very much, Christine, Cranky and DebbieLynne; I appreciate the feedback on this. quote:
ORIGINAL: crankius I had to cruise through quite a few pages to find out what your big secret was. Being a Tour Director sounds like a lot of fun! But not nearly as much fun as floating in your trike over San Fransisco Bay. Well, one can always hope and dream.

Got any plans for after you retire, Pam? Like Sam, for the first good while, a whole lot of nuthin', which won't begin until at least noon. After that (who knows when), I don't know. I just don't want to be regimented again. And I want to listen for what the Lord tells me. I do want to take a good long cruise the year after I retire. A friend and I are sort of planning that. Also, my ministry partner is making more plans for my retirement than I am!

To answer my 2nd question . . . How did I come about to be doing what I'm doing now? As y'all may know, CS was a collector of many things; toys just being one of those things. I actually had an estate auction a year (+ 1 month) after he died; and that's how the majority of his stuff was sold. However, at the time that I was sorting through everything and deciding what went in the auction, what went to friends / family, etc., etc., I decided that I would sell the toys on eBay. That decision was made within a few months after CS's death. By the way, it took 3 months to pack up the Toy Room and the other toys that had escaped and were enjoying their spots in various places around the house. Many of the toys had been sitting, untouched, on shelves in the Toy Room for over 20 years; and so there was 20 years of dust and such that needed to be cleaned from them. The Toy Room was the last room in the house that I tackled; and even though I started it 3 months before I left the house, I still didn't have enough time. About a week before it was time for me to move, I was only about half-way through the Toy Room, so I ditched the "cleaning every toy" thing and just boxed the toys up directly from the shelves. I moved out of the house during the summer of 2006; a little over 2 years ago. For a while, the toys (along with all my other belongings) were in storage while I took a much needed break and galavanted around for a while. In the early part of 2007, I rented an office and got the toys out of storage and put them in the office. My intention was to begin working on the project of selling them. But, instead, I walked by them every day on my way to my inner office where I operated my office support business. I just simply wasn't ready to deal with it. Then, in September of last year, I moved away from Jackson. From then until July of this year (when I came back from a trip to Jackson), the majority of the toys were in storage again. I had a few boxes here in the house; and back in January of this year, I made a half-hearted attempt to begin the "toy project". It took me 3 hours to go through one box of toys (it just happened to be a box of toys that hadn't been previously cleaned). But, back in January, I still wasn't ready to deal with this project. SO! Finally . . . last month, after returning from my trip to Jackson, and with a valid deadline (tour director school in December) to spur me on, AND with the prayers, support and encouragement from several of my Jackson friends, I started the toy project again. AND! It hasn't been the big emotional deal that it previously had been these past 2 years. My goal was to allow 2 weeks to get all the uncleaned toys cleaned. Uhm, that phase of the project actually took 3 weeks. I also thought that it would take about 1 week to figure things out, eBay-wise, and to get the toys uploaded. However, I ran into a few glitches along the way . . . and ultimately the first round of toys got uploaded about 2 weeks later than when I initially thought they would be when I was planning this back in Jackson last month. And there ya have it. This probably isn't of interest to anyone, and I certainly didn't plan on typing all this . . . but, since I did, I might as well post it. LOL

(Closest thing to actually doing that was operating the one in here that Ray took care of.) Be able to drive a car where ever I wanted. Walk on the moon. (Just a few of the things. I'd have to set down and think about more.)

I'm not sure why I'm posting, other than to ramble and, as a consequence, amuse you. Or annoy you. It makes no difference which. I've always been obnoxious, so why not bring that aspect of myself to your thread? Aren't you honored? Of course, my college English professors (I majored in English, doncha know ) would be aghast to see me writing such an unstructured post! By the way, isn't "aghast" such a perfectly delightful word, Sharon Marie? I like using unexpected words. Though it can be jarring if unexpected words are used too often. But, because I was once diagnosed as retarded, I like showing off my vocabulary. But speaking of my exhibitionist tendencies, I should close this post. Hope you enjoyed my ramble! Edited to correct punctuation...because I majored in English, and I was aghast at my mistake!

SharMar -- it was of interest to me! I'm impressed with all the work you've done, the detail, the honor to CS, and without the goals you set for yourself, you probably wouldn't be anywhere near where you are now. Way to go, girl! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DebbieLynne -- I enjoyed your post immensely -- I totally enjoy the proper use of the English language!

Lessee . . . My next question: When you were growing up, what were some of the things you imagined you might do as an adult? I always wanted to be a truck driver and see the country.....I married one instead. I never answered the other question. My daily life (currently) consists of waking up, feeding the kids, doing a few lessons (phonics, reading, math, science) maybe a craft or something fun, and then just cleaning house and goofing off until lunch time, doing other necessary stuff until dinner time and then usually some tv watching or forum playing. When I'm working (I work seasonally....Jan - Jun and about a couple weeks during October) I do pretty much the same, except at 5pm I leave for work, do data entry for about 8 hrs and come home around 2:30am. I got that job by seeing a commercial for seasonal IRS employment and being curious enough to go check out the website and on a whim, applying.

I haven't used an alarm clock since. I will either sleep until I wake up; or, if I need to get up at a specific time, I will ask Our Lord to wake me up at that time . . . and in all these ensuing years since that time so many mornings ago, no matter when I need to wake up, I always wake up on time. There have even been times when I have misjudged the amount of time I would need, and Our Lord has woken me up earlier than what I asked . . . and I needed every bit of that time. Hey Sharmar, I am the exact same way. I have NEVER used an alarm clock. No matter what time I need to get up, I do, almost to the minute. There have been maybe one or two times that I have overslept in all of these years.
