She did make it. Her name is Amanda Overmyer.

I'm sure if we go to the AI website this morning they will have posted the top 24. k

The top 24 was posted on idol website but it only showed their music aspirations and not their past experiences.

You're thinking of Clay Aiken. He didn't win. He came in second. He should have won but Ruben Studdard won that year.

yeah that's right (I wasn't sure about the spelling)....he SHOULD have won.....he was better. He for sure has had a better career though then Ruben. Either way, he was a "geeky" looking guy and has come pretty far.

His head got a little too big also. I remember when he used to be humble and modest but everytime I see him being interviewed lately, it's not the same Clay from years ago.

Thank you! I'm glad she made it. I felt badly for Josiah....wish he'd have made it. I hope he tries again next season. He has an awesome talent.

I suspect some label will pick him up before next year.

Something's just not alright w/ Josiah. I think the loss can be quite devastating for him. He really needs to go home & get things right w/ his family & himself. kd

I have a feeling Josiah does not work well with others so I'd say he'll have a hard time finding a record label. Did he really say the reason why he's not home? I might have missed something. I thought he mentioned that he left school so I'm assuming that he did not graduate HS and left home and made a decision to live in a car. I'm with some that I don't feel bad for him. He's got some personal issues that he needs to take care of and he seems to be not good in taking rejections. I told hubby, and I hope I'm wrong with this, but either he's going to harm someone in the future or even harm himself. There's no doubt about it, he's musically talented but there's more in him that does not seems right.

I totally agree. But I'm concerned it's going to be himself. The folks at AI just don't need that on their hands. But, I sure hope nothing happens to him as a result of this show. That would be a bad place for AI to be in. kd

Josiah is going to do or has just done a radio talk with Vote for the Worst. I'd say he's doing just fine.

Im surprised the black girl was a model...maybe I am wrong, but I thought I heard her say she had never been given a chance before because her size was an issue....did anyone else hear anything like that or was I more tired than I thought?

It seemed like she got a sympathy vote after those comments.

She did say that. I was thinking she meant with her music. But it did seem like a funny comment considering she's a successful plus size model. Obviously she has been given some chance.

I didn't think she got a sympathy vote though...wasn't their decision already decided when she said that?

She was speaking specifically about not being given any real opportunity in the music industry because of her weight.

Yes, their decision was already made when she said that.

That's what I was thinking. I don't deny Josiah has talent, but he also has some serious personal issues. I think the judges were afraid he would have a meltdown and they'd have to deal with the mess. As for being on VFTW, somehow I can see him there. He seems like the kind of person who, if he didn't get what he wanted, would put down other people who did. And no, Jodavi, the show's producers never explained why he had run away from home.

As for "geeky" Clay, the last I heard, neither he nor Reuben were doing too well.

I thought he had right at the beginning. He made a passing comment about his Mum being OK but he just wasn't good at following her rules or something along those lines and that his family thought he was staying with friends when he was really sleeping in his car.

I still don't like his voice. It still sounds like a dying sheep to me.

So in other words she should not be on AI because of her looks? Please, I hope we are not starting that again. Mandisa got by too, but look where it got her--a recording contract, a book deal and other opportunities.

This woman deserved to be on AI because of her talent, which we should be voting on, not because of a size-6 mentality.

I think some of these people need counseling, not only with the preliminary rounds, but the other rounds as well. Some of these people do not take this type of thing well because of the expectations that these people think they will make it because a televison talent competion and when these people get rejected, they don't know what to do.

I believe these people need to be let known and be reassured that this is not the end of the world, it is only a televison show and there are more opportunities if people will work at it. Some of these people do not need AI anyways, because there is a world outside of it.

Blast it all, I taped the show while I was at church, but the recording didn't come out all the way. It got near the end, just when they were going to announce the last female, and then it cut off.
Same thing happened to us! But since we were just watching it tonight (Thurs) we just went online to find out who got in!

I liked the hollywood round much better this time too!

Looking forward to seeing how they all do next week. Have a few favorites, but it's hard to tell yet.

It is not AI's responsibility to counsel these people. It's almost like for anyone auditioning for a role in a movie or the theater and you don't get cast- it's natural to be dissapointed - or even like when applying for a job, don't expect that you get counseling everytime you don't get picked or hired.

I felt last night like Josiah might hurt himself. I prayed that he'd find Jesus. I think we all should. There's something sad about him. Teens don't leave home and live in their car because they don't like mom's rules. Something drove him out of the house. I suspect it's deeper than he let on....

Anyway, PLEASE, let's not make the plus model thing into a race or size issue! She's pretty, and she can sing! Good for her!

I saw in an interview with one of the producers on the TV Guide channel that they do provide counseling. I don't know if they provide it all throughout or just when they get to the final 24 or how extensive it is.
