Going to see ZZ Top at Riverfest this weekend. It was cool that they performed with David Cook so that my teens feel a little better about seeing ZZ Top Sunday night. Won them some points with the kids.
I think both David's are really great guys, neither seems to be artificial on stage. David Cook very clearly a leader and in charge when he is on stage.

I'm living my dream to be a rock star vicariously through David C.

I'm so glad he won. I was dreading a David A win.

My 15 yr old daughter hid her disappointment well.
Now she is conveniently forgetting the $10 bet we made.

What was up with the rocker chick? The two toned hair girl? She acted like she wanted to be anywhere but there. Yuck!

Yeah David Cook!

She's been like that all season. I have a feeling she didn't think she was going to have to tour with them, singing pure pop songs. She also appears to be trying to keep herself separate from the rest. She doesn't look at all comfortable when the hugfests start.

So much for "Jesus Take the Wheel". Now she's singing songs about getting drunk, and marrying her one night stand!

I know...so disappointing...

Actually, besides aiming at a bit of humor, the song sounds like a cautionary tale of one outrageous and horrid thing that could happen if you were to live that lifestyle. Someone else said that she dressed like an expensive call-girl, though, which is true and not good; this may have negatively prejudiced your take on this song. At first I hated it too, but then I saw some redeeming elements in it.

Amanda and the other guy -- geesh I forgot his name, the one who used to strip,- are not on the tour. It's only the top 10 so I don't even know why they were there last night.

I did see the part where Simon apologized to David C and figured right then he must have been the winner.

Well, I must say - I WAS SHOCKED! I really thought David A. was going to win. I'm glad all my redailing didn't go to waste Tuesday night!!

quote:

Actually both Davids did the exact same commercial for Guitar Hero. David C's was better in my opinion!
Yeah, but we all laughed so hard through David A.'s!!! He did seem to be having fun with it!!

quote:

And btw, only 10 of them are going to the tour right? So why bring the other 2 back tonight to sing with the group?
I wondered this too. Poor Amanda looked so terribly uncomfortable on all those group songs - she seemed scared to death that she was going to fall or mess up the dance moves or something! I think she'd be relieved to NOT have to do the tour!!

quote:

I also love the last part when David C sang the finale song and they showed his brother on the camera and he mouthed 'that's my brother!' with that big smile-- that was a very sweet moment.
UGH I missed the end the DVR cut it off- I'll have to look it up on You tube.

You and everyone else in the US who was DVR'ing it.

I was watching it live, but didn't jump up to restart the DVR...so I saw it but don't have the final few moments on the recording.

Wow...I just went to iTunes to see if the "Hero" song that David and David did was available for download yet (it's not; the video is though)...and THEY WERE SERIOUS about the earlier songs only being available through the finale. They're gone now. Totally gone. Searching on the artist's name (ie - Jason Castro or Carly Smithson) yields no results. I'm glad I downloaded what we wanted before they were gone.

Boring.... That sums up this entire season--promises of a good season--not. The singing, except for a few people were not up to par, believe me. But I also predicted that DC will win this thing because he did and he's one of the better vocals in this competition.

You've been saying that this is the most boring season and you managed to watch up to the end

Yes, and....

Secondly, the biker chick looked like she did not want to be there. I think the 11th and 12th place finishers should not be on the finale. It does not make any sense if they are not going to be on the tour but they can be on televison.

As for Donna, she does look good. And people like her who follows after Jesus, which she does in spite of what they went through look good anyways.

I don't blame her one bit! If the judges are going to use the terms "cruise ship" and "theme park" to criticize performances, then the producers shouldn't make the groups perform those cheesy routines! Come on -- all-white outfits, swaying like the Brady Bunch kids?

Yeah Amanda looked like she didn't want to be there. She was probably thinking "I could be at home watching American Idol rather than doing this." I agree with the other posters that she wants to separate herself from the rest.

Amanda had to have known to expect this. It's season 7 for crying out loud! She should have never auditioned. Simon says they are looking for the next pop star. They are not looking for the next roadhouse queen. Yeah, it does seem disappointing that they put the 11th & 12th through all of that & then send them home. What's the logic in that. But, there's a lot of things w/ AI that don't make sense. I'm sure next season they'll have even more stuff that just don't belong.

Donna did look great. I saw her on ET last night. I think she's on her way to a major comeback. I'm proud of her. Personally, I'd rather see her on stage than Cher anyday. Some people in their 60s just don't have a clue it's time to tone it down.

Did anyone watch David C on Jay Leno last night. I can't stay up that late. Tell me what they talked about. kd

I tried to stay up...but ending up falling asleep in front of the TV and not waking up until 2 AM...just to turn the TV off and go to bed!

Anyone know what shows he will be appearing on now?

My wife and I have watched AI every year for the past several years. We missed most of the season this time due to unforseen circumstances (kinda busy). We did manage to catch bits and pieces of the show every now and then. David Cook is a good talent and we both thought he deserved to win.

Something that I didn't know that I learned the last night of the competition. David Cook got on the show by "accident." I thought that was pretty cool. And he won!

Go David Cook!

I just read this and wanted to share with you guys. I was laughing out loud! Regarding Cook and Archie....

“They’re both very talented, but it really boils down to what does it for you: A sexy hot man or Webkinz come to life?” she asked. “Is your cell phone studded with glitter, or do you just have a regular cell phone like I do?”

Thanks for the link. He interviews very well - doesn't stumble on his words, tells a good story and is humble! Yeah David Cook!!

Interesting, too, that AI has partnered with Disney...... do ya think they were preparing for Archie to win? Hmmmmm
