He really is well rounded. He's pretty funny! I'm afraid if he's going to make Teen Idol status.....he may need to make a visit to the tanning bed (LOL)! kd

Amazing a middle-aged mom would do that much calling & texting for a TV show. Her kids must think she's nuts! I will agree that the hair change did help. Seems though David's got company. I'm finding links for Jason Castro on my friend's MySpace pages. I think the season really did appeal more to older people & probably has for several years, but they are playing OUR music.

The song that David A sang w/ that group (don't know who they are) - well, I had to hear a clip of it later to finally remember it's a song my niece sings all the time (she's 13). It didn't work for him like David C w/ ZZ Top. But then, again...I love that song. I almost called my brother to get him to watch it because he's a big ZZ Top fan! So, it makes perfect sense that the show is more geared to the older audience which doesn't make any sense at all since it's the young people that buy the music. I truly think the producers are lost or smoking crack! kd

I think I'm being insulted

but it's hard to tell

I think the iPod has changed the way anyone buys music. And not everyone who is your parent's age listens to the golden oldies

I personally haven't been too interested in getting an iPod. I pretty much listen to all my music in the car now. Seldom listen to anything at home. I seem to forget I have a CD player & just keep the radio on. I occasionally will buy a new CD, but wind up only listening to it 3-4 times & then it just ends up in the pile w/ the rest of them. I guess if I traveled I would see the need for CDs or downloading to an iPod. My son did buy me a record player several years ago. I was tickled pink to get it & set out to play my records on a regular basis, but now it just seems to be collecting dust. Shame on me. kd

I heard on the radio this morning that supposedly the two Davids were to sing Homeward Bound but David Cook suggested to sing Hero instead.
There was also an article that AI was hoping Cook to win since Archie or maybe Daddy Archie already laid down some contracts and regulations in front of the producers if he's to win AI and I'm going to assume that might have been another good reason to kicked Dad out from the backstage...that and the song alteration. And I really feel for David A because we've seen fathers like his in the entertainment world and it messes up the kids.

Maybe not everyone.

My husband tends to still buy CDs, although he has been buying a few songs on iTunes recently (he also maxed out his 4 GB Nano in the first weekend because he transferred almost all of his CDs to it). He just doesn't have the patience to navigate through the categories on the iTunes Music Store. He's more of a tactile person.

Me, I like only buying the songs I really like instead of a whole CD.

I was just quoting the article! Here's what they said:

And the biggest viewer erosion in season seven was right in Archuleta’s voting bloc. Ratings fell 18 percent among women aged 18-34; and 12 percent among teenagers 12-17. Also apparently in Cook’s favor: Viewership has risen among people aged 50 and over, and the median age of an “Idol” viewer, once in the mid-30s, is now up to 42.

So glad David C won!

Did someone alert Carrie Underwood that she FORGOT her pants when she went on stage. I had to change the channel so my daughters couldn't watch. So much for "Jesus Take the Wheel". Now she's singing songs about getting drunk, and marrying her one night stand!

Yes, I remember when people were rooting for Carrie to win because she was such a "wholesome Christian girl." If she ever was, then she's definitely fallen.

And I agree with whoever said that finally, the contestant who should have has won! I hope Davic C has a great career a la Daughtry. He certainly deserves it.

Now on to Seasson 8!

My kids said to tell you that they don't think I'm crazy & that they wanted David Cook to win as much as I did!!!!!
